To whom it may concern.
We are requesting a change to the official alliance map. It currently shows the great wildlands as belonging to persons other than the thukker tribe. This is not correct, and legally impossible. All systems in that region are the soverign property of the Thukker Tribe, and any claims are contrairy to established law, and therefore illegal.
As residents of this region, we are severly offended to see that we ,supposedly, live under the control of an alliance. This is untrue. Those claimg the wildlands as there own, illegally, are seen, only near the stations and empire space. You can find them downing innocent, non-hostile persons, mostly incapable of defending themselves (like the 2 shuttles I watched destroyed for no reason last night while cloaked).
How do you claim control of entire region by camping empire gates and stations, ineffectivly I might add, and NOT HAVE A SINGLE SYSTEM CLAIMED AS SOVERIGN? Is it really that easy? Just say it is yours and it is?
Best Regards,

You will see that several NPC regions are claimed by major alliances. Stain, G Wildlands, Venal, Syndicate, etc. The "alliance map" shows which of the big alliances live and operate out of the space. They claim this space and will kill anyone trying to leech off their space. All the NPC stations do are make it more difficult to keep people out, but it does not make them any less easy to gank.
True the claim may be "illegal" to the role players or whatever, but the alliance map is really not for role playing. It is used to show who is in power and where they live. Take it at that, and either avoid hostile 0.0 space, make friends with the alliances and corps living out of the npc space you are interested in, or forge your own path and take a claim for yourself.
If you want to try and claim part the great wildlands, post it on the map forum topic, not in here.

The map definitely doesnt show sovereignty. If you want to see sovereignty use the in-game map filter. When you decide to do this you will notice that the major alliances actually have a distinct minority of their "claimed" space as sovereign. But you are welcome to make your own claims, if you can afford the losses...

So if you -V- guys have such uber control of the wildlands how is it we have multipule POSs in wildlands. You DO NOT have control over it regardless of what you claim. Having a few gates, and stations camped does not mean control.
PS Slowboatong a full indy through there is fun, but hardly a challange....
Again we request the Wildlands be marked as UNCONTROLLED. -V- does not have control of the REGION. I will be happy to send the map makers the locations of our POSs to prove it...

I believe Gynelle was trying to make the point that we are not new to this area, and we do move plenty of gear through the wildlands, in unarmed indys. No alliance has stopped us, nor even been aware of our operations. For one to claim contorl of an area they should at the minimum be able to tell how many POSs are in the systems they control, and who they belong to.

Our losses are minimal at best, much lower than we had planned on. All of our missions to date have been successful. Our buisness is thriving. Your threats, and implications of stupidity, do not scare us, nor does it reflect the truth of the situation. We already know the truth, your propaganda is just that...

As we have proven, we cannot be stopped from deploying our POSs, therefore conrol is not established.
As far as losing towers is concerned, comon now, do you think we would allow our major assets to be "under-threat"? you underestimate us. Our POSs are out there to prove a point nothing else... You assume we value them, you assume wrong.

I think it comes down to the simple fact that we do what we please, as do you all. We have not been stopped, and cannot be stopped. Big guns mean the same as small guns to us. We fly around all day unarmed. So here comes all the empty threats that are as scary as my eight year old daughter. If it is worth the while of a huge alliance to come for us, then we must be doing things right. Like has been said we are a TINY company. It must be embarassing to have such an insignifigant tiny newbie corp passing through unscathed.... and able to set up POS's as easy as if it was done in the empire. I personally will continue to operate unarmed. And as for those big guns... I will try to remember to shake in fear next time I see them!

oh my god... this is great...
look, don't mess with the big alliances, you might get hurt... well... i have absolutely no idea in what shape the alliance is that "owns" Great Wildlands... but i'm positive they could blow you out of that region if they really wanted... you said your not afraid of the big guns... well... neither am i... but a lot of guns is scary...
losing a POS is bad, takes an impact on your isk... losing another POS, is a bit worse, losing all of your POS's + the indy's because of 24/7 camps is even more bad...
like i said, i have no idea who or what the alliance is... but if i was in that alliance, i would make you swallow your own words ;)...

So we have been told.....
A fight is not what we are looking for. A correction is.
Regardless of claims, our point stands, Great Wildlands is not under alliance contol. Alliances claiming control do so in word alone, with no established control, we seek to prove this alone.
As for your threat, you may be able to kill us, but you cannot stop us, unless you tie up your resources to do so. Stoping 6 or 7 guys sounds easy, but how many gates you need to camp? How many scouts you gonna send out to check EVERY moon in the region? How many dreds you gonna task out to destroy the POS Towers (nope no arrays, sorry) T1 frigs and indys, you do find? How mush ISK you gonna spend? How much time are you going to waste sitting at a gate in the middle of nowhere, hoping one of us might show up? I would be proud to be on the recieving end of a million ISK assult, but would you be proud to spend it? :)

And so...you deliberately invite an attack. Right. Rather than submitting a simple post to the mao thread. Which, btw, you're very unlikely to get honoured. Jusr becuase you have a few POS in an out of thw way system in no way negates the local alliance's hold over the region, and you've now made yourself very visible targets.

As i understand it the territory map expresses who is the dominent Pod-pilot alliance/alliances in an area of space. Therefore although the Great Wildlands are officially in control of the Thukker Tribe, they are not a POD-pilot based alliance & thus do not feature on the POD-pilot territory map.
There are few regions in the galaxy where the alliance shown in control of a region is the only one in that area. In most cases they are merely the largest, strongest or smartest. So if you grasshoppers formed an alliance, fought LV & defeated them to the extent that you became the dominent entity in the region, then you could have your name on the map. As said above by others though it would be a laugh if you managed. _______________________________________________ The above comments & views do not reflect the opinions of Cosmic Odyssey or Chorus of Dawn; just those of an enlightened member |

Im sorry but this is a bit stupid realli. You wudnt be in GW if anybody thought you were a threat, and the fact that you have some POS's in some dead sys somewhere does not mean that you disrupt the control the alliances have on the region. And for the record it wouldnt take millions of isk or scouts or dreds or watever you want to find where you are. It would take one guy to go to empire and use a location agent to find you, and then a 30 man bs fleet to knock out your POS's, so dont get*****y.

Looks like we have to check our sytem and invest some time to tidy our home a bit. But now it looks like we get visits from Goons and Imperium soon and I really appreciate that. Usually we have the difficulty that people like to go on a fun ops, but we have also duties at home. Now the fun comes to us. Guess we are really lucky.
But tearing down your poses sounds boring. It may take some time, until your poses get on top of our priority list.

our corp is mainly operating in gw area atm. And its very boring to camp empire access systems where 5 "wannabe GW claimers" are hidding. Me personally dont have the time to sit there 24/7. Anyway if you realy know what you are talking about then why is Fountain claimed by BoB and why is Geminate claimed... why is Curse claimed and providence those regions all are actually claimed by factions? I can go to fountain and sit in station or in safespot and gank some easy targets and say that fountain is now free? Seems like you havent played eve enough. I personally dont care if map shows GW as Veritas Immortalis space or not. You cant fly safe there anyway.

I can attest also to the statments of the OP. Altho I have moved north recently i made my home in Molden Heath (sp?) for a long time. Operating in the northern sections of GW was simple. B-vip9 offers almost unrestricted accses, and when camped it is a 50/50 as to wether it is -V- or one of the local pirate corps.at most 1 out of 4 pilots i met in GW where -V-, so while they may claim all of it, they have absolutly no hold over Lage areas.

Need better probes? I agree, its hard to find a POS without good probes eh? I fail to see the problem with fitting a device that counters a weapon. You get ****ed when ECCM is fitted too? Would you like me to just eject and hand you my ship? 1. I never fit stabs on annything but haulers. 2. I dont even have the skills to use a cloak. 3. Every time (exept one) I have seen 1 other person jump into local they have been a non -V- member and we end up ratting togeather. Well OP is right. For months on end -V- had such a tight control over GW NOTING went in there. Latey they are bysier in SP so they have ganerally be willing to ignore random peeps moving in after DT and stuff like that.
As a result any odd noob can now have his say lol.
If you want to be serious:
POSs mark control of conquerable space. In npc faction owned space you get "control" if for a consitent and lengthy period of time you meet and ultimately defeat any groupings of invaders.
For example: 5 peeps are camping entrance gate ... say 7q-. If -v- kills them or makes tyhem run every day or most of the time then -v- has control. If they can go and camp a station (say eo2) for hours on end and -v- usually fails to kick them out then -v- doesnt have control.
Its all about challenges and the dominant entity's reaction, see? Now if you consistently manage to sneak in a nanovigil cause nobody gives a flying f* then... well... nobody gives a flying f* I guess...
Does that answer your concerned query?
