On the night of 19/08/06 Anza gave Omist a gift, a wondrous gift indeed.
On the night of 19/08/06 Anza decided enough was enough and killed the RA carrier in NZPK.
How long does it take to kill an RA Carrier ? Well we will come to that question a little later.
After a couple of weeks on intel gathering and planning, sending in frigs to be killed to gain intel on ammo etc we were ready. I activated a cynosural field in the system of NZPK to bring in, a Moros Dreadnought (which we did not need nor use in the end) one day prior to my expected launch on the Carrier. A friendly Carrier was also on stand by.
I had my Capital ships in place, I had formulated a plan that would catch RA's Gallente Carrier and now it was time to let my fellow Anza PvP directors in on the plan, less than 24 hours prior to the operation. At all times I wanted things to be kept under wraps, so I never spoke to anyone, secrecy was my objective.
I informed them of what I was up to, I revealed my attack plan and they agreed. GrantW made a few tweaks and all was set.
The following day, several hours before downtime on the night of the operation a mail went out to the Corp. A call up for a PvP Operation. In the mail I told them where to meet, at what time and how to fit out the ship and ship types and what ammo to use. A deliberate ruse was engaged as even then I did not want my Corp members to know what was in lie for them. At this time I revealed to the remainder of the Anza Directors as to what we were truly up to.
As always the Anza members jumped on board for some fun and activity. A patrol up the Hodrold Pipe was in store for them as they were led to believe.
30 minutes before downtime all members participating in the PvP Operation were on Vent and then I gave them the bombshell.
ôGuys, we have a change of plans, we will be taking out the RA carrier tonight in NZPK and his mates if they decide to helpö
The guys were unanimous in the new target, this was something they eagerly waited for and were very much appreciative of the new target.
We then told them who were doing what and how it would all unfold. We gave them time lines to work towards etc and after the mission brief everyone understood the task and what there objective was within this operation.
So how long does it take to kill a RA Carrier with a committed bunch of Anza guys

And then there was no more Carrier, it went pop. The pod insta warped as he used the time honored RA tactic known as ôLogofskiöàààà.

Because not all of EVE has been playing for 2-3 years and have had this experience. There is new players in the game and this is their first experience with cap ships maybe in pvp. I remember lots of thread when the first carriers and dreads went pop upon introduction.
Why is it when anybody posts anything about their acomplishments someone from BOB has to ask stupid questions like this one??????
Oh I forgot you are uber and nobody can compare.

The last time I was in Omist with SLIM, the locals called us cowards for attacking a Raven, in a belt, in a station system, with fifteen other people in local. Even when screaming for local, none of the other 6 (at least) battleships in system would come to assist him. Their reasoning? Two elite cruisers are more powerful than anything they had.
Oh, and this was after we ran a 10 ship + interdictor gatecamp, without instas.

I'm not sure if I'd be happy if everyone bragged about their first caracal kill on this forum. I'm sure that when the first BS went down years ago there was a thread or two about it, but now, who care ?
Carriers are going down in a daily basis in eve nowadays, especialy since they're used by mission / complexe farmers a lot, ganking someone farming is really not something you want to brag about.

This is the one and ONLY ANZA, that was booted from Tribal Souls for fighting with Bob, and left with less than half it's members.
Of the guys who took the carrier down, more than half are very new players (recruited since that day in April), learning the ropes of pvp & pve. RA have plagued Omist for god knows how long, taking out the residents and owning the complex, making their wallets fat.
I am proud of the ANZA members who went in and rid Omist of the leeches and freed the complex up. Maybe carriers go down everyday, but this is the first one for for a dedicated bunch of new players, and hey, the ANZAC spirit still lives and will not die.

Its the old Anza that got booted from Tribal Souls becuase on Anzac day (Australian National Holiday for rememberence of fallen soldiers) that had fun with BoB.
We were decimated from the split and only now are getting back on our feet. Half the guys on the op were noobs and did us proud in true Aussie style, with no capital ships being used.
Gank yeah, fun yeah, good for our Corp moral DAMN YEAH.

Nah Saran decided to stay in PS with the corp that was formed that night, 'The Anzac's' (stupid name i know, sounding like ours  ) they then folded soon after and are now called Dragons of Redemption.

Nice troll. Sure they farm complexes but if they didn't care about territory they wouldn't have been at war with most of the south for the past year or so. And it would be impossible for the totality of RA to farm complexes all day, cause i don't think there are 900 plexes in the game.

Yes it is a good job, It brings up the spirits of the young pilots who was involved. No issue at all with that. Maybe these same young pilots in time will be a major force later on in the future, if not that at least more experianced personalities for future endeavors, corporations and alliances.
Making any one lose around a bil worth of assets is applaudable. If it is thread worthy; might not be for some but for a few proud pilots to do so, sure why not eh? Hell there where several times once upon a time where people cried for honor when they took a battleship out with a cruiser. Woohoo! way to go, keep it up and such.
Anyways taking down a cap ship or a score of them DOES take some level of planning, learn from it and keep up the good work ANZAC warriors and continue to win honor and glory for yourselves.

It was not Rooman's intention to forget the kiwis (ANZAC is an Australian AND New Zealand corp), he merely stated that ANZAC day is an Australian public holiday for the rememberance of fallen soldiers (not just Australian soldiers), and probably, like me, he didn't know that it was also a public holiday in New Zealand. So no offence intended.

Yeh, so this has taken u what? nearly a year to do this, to thoe who dont know let me explain
RA have or did have a carrier in the system of NZPK and for the last year they have had, well, 8 RA pvp alts logged off in the system to ***** the complex, every day they log on and do the complex. So for around 8 months and i mean possibly longer, the 4 ALLIANCES + LV couldnt stop them.
The carrier was the key, i.e blockade runners brought ammo etc and so on, it stored the ships and had a off the grid ss.
None of the 4 alliances could stop it. So this *omfgwtfbbq* kill, well, its a pat on the back from them, because for the last 9 months ish, they havent been able to do jack
GJ for finally acting like alliances and not docking like wussies everytime they showed up

Good job ANZA, nice to see an omist corp finally doing something. Myriad were sick of the carebearing cowards down there who did nothing against the threat of stybbe. A certain large alliance down there even had standing orders to safe spot/log/dock at first sight of any gang, which made it so easy for RA + other gank squads to just troll through the region picking off what gangs tried to get together.

Anza has NEVER Docked, we did not in the past nor will we in future. There are many respected old friends in this thread that will support that nub. Don't put us in the same basket as others . Also this was NOT an Alliance inititive it was an Anza only Op. Perhaps if you read the initial post you would have absorbed that information

Or he had just jumped to system and was low on cap ... anyway destroying a carrier in front of a hostile station in deep enemy territory, and without any support takes a lot of balls ... would you attack him ? I probably not. I would probably would never went there alone in a BS in the 1st place

Don't worry about the smack. If it was a good achievement for you guys that's all that matters. Newer players getting into pvp is awsome and i hope you keep up the good work. I remember killing my first carrier was so fun and i was adrenaline rushing for like 30 minutes after

Hehe. Same here. We were sitting all night in 995 and guarding station when our covert unexpectedly reported: "i found hostile carrier on deep safespot and now 15kms from him". Whole fleet simply jumped on him without any single word :) And i arrived just to see carrier pilot's pod exploding

Was asking me since i saw that thread why the topic was "....killed _the_ carrier......" and not "killed one carrier". Didn't ask cause well it was obvious that other sides would smack enough and didnt want to add to it.
Btw the "logoffski"-crap doesn't suit you anzac guys. No need to make those lame rl logoffski, vodka....... "jokes" all the time. And even not beeing russian my educated guess is it will only make em angry, united, stand stronger.... Which is probably not in your interest. ;) It would have sufficed to mention that he logged out to safe his implants.
Also to all the ex tribe(anza was booted before it happened i know, but there are loads of others) now coalition corps: RA is a prime example how others are doing well where we failed miserably. They deserve respect for it. Not smack.
Anyways:
Good job on the carrier kill Anza, as someone allready mentioned make sure you kill the respawn(s) as well. Whoring those complexes (sadly) is sooooo frickin profitable a single carrier won't make em give up for sure.
Kudos to RA for never giving up.

I think it was worth posting if you knew the history of how long this particular carrier pilot and friends had been mining that particular complex. I must say, kudos to ANZA for doing something that LV should have done a long time ago.
As others have said however the challenge will be keeping them out of the complex; they've been farming it so long that
not waking up in that system must be like gollum waking up and realizing he lost the ring.

i dont think there are many posts about one little carrier =))
2nd carrier in Omist have been lost , but those carriers were involved in 37  bs kills.
who is winning ?and little Stybbe killed around 700 (40% bs) ships. u still on the winning side ? =)))) and thnx for the kill , wanted to refit for a loooooooooooooong time =)))
and adding ppl into addressbook dont automaticaly make them your friends , so stop saying "hi" to me every time.  (i hate you all)

ANZAC did something that the coalition have not done
