However in my exeperience very very few players you encounter will be equipped for ECM (if at all) Most players apart from your scorpy man will be equipped for max damage! This is changing with the more seasoned PvPers and Pirates though!! Be you a Pirate or a Simple Alt creeper! What you need is a good sturdy/average setup that you are used to. And remeber 1 thing, most rats are big kids, and usually always go for max dmg. tip of the day= use 1 heat/thermal hardener ALWAYS. rats are using tachs alot with multi crystals, which do a hell of alot of thermal dmg.

I think the drones caused more damage than the cruise missiles...Of course that's before they got squashed in the Battle of the Splash Damage Oh and for the dampener lover there: Stacking dampeners requires less skill and knowledge than using actual jammers, in my opinion. You cannot pick the 'wrong' dampener to use against a foe. They are the Poor Man's ECM. You can tell a n00b "Stick these on your ship" and he'll be effective against all race ships without ever knowing why. I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather *** my enemy.- Rohann Be careful out there. I think the drones caused more damage than the cruise missiles...Of course that's before they got squashed in the Battle of the Splash Damage " Yup, i know ^^ 'Tis a somewhat different case, since being jammed renders your guns useless while if you have short range guns you can still fight the ship which tries the dampeners on you... but now that i think of it, getting literally against the hull of the other ship could've perhaps made things easier for you as well -- the Blackbirds' defenders would be no longer effective due to short range, so your missiles would deal far more damage to them. Plus, their own missiles would be doing splash damage to their own ships... given the EW Blackbirds aren't usually equipped with shield boosters or any similar defenses, and their shields and armour are pretty weak, could've forced them to bail out due to danger of achieving nothing but an impressive suicide ;s

The fact you reduce the enemy's target range to 4k won't matter to a battleship literally humping your hull. "Your nice FoF missiles would be toast each time I activate my large smart bomb." Your large smartbomb has quite significant activation time, longer than even single launcher. What good will it do against multiple launchers, when the missiles take 1-2 seconds to cover the distance due to short distance? Not as much as you think :s "So now what you gonna do? I would rather worry about splash damage from your own torpedoes, and what your precious tachyons are going to hit at extremely close range ;s And yes, someone configured for close range combat is also going to be set up for fast movement and/or keeping the enemy in place, so i wouldn't count on keeping that safe distance from them much.... So really, no need for that screaming and all that arrogant "only i have the brains to know how the **** works" stance...

Large smartbombs are all well and good if you can get all the missiles in one fell swoop, but a smart player doesn't always launch all their missiles in one simultaneous salvo. Generally speaking, staggering by a few fractions of a second is better to prevent having your missiles taken out this way is a bit brighter. Just a thought.
