Not sure what you are saying here. I think everyone, manufacturer, pvp'r, soloer, alliance person are all valid playstyles and all have an effect on EvE.
I also believe that if you so choose to enter unsafe space, that you concede to combat and I believe the only way combat can occur on a regular basis in EvE and be fun is if it is non-consentual and you can force people to fight.
Some issues, like gank camp and so on are unfair and do make combat un-fun but I dont think its the scramblers causing that unfairness and so fixing them wont fix the problem with gank camps. |

I agree, it is a little bit silly that essentially in a good set up a player can scramble you for enternity, which is plenty of time for his lame as buddies to show up and mob you.
It is too certain. Like alot of the mods in EVE such as webbers. They should do a hit miss check and if hit you get scrambled for 30 secs if they miss you stay un scrambled, and every 30 secs they do a recheck like jammers.
100% gaurenteed snare and lock down from warp is prety carebearish imho. talk about EZ mode...

Really the OP post was not that stupid, as far as I am concerned the entire scrambling and stabbing choice of eve was a terrible choice for game mechanics to begin with.

I have never liked the lockdown mechanics of any MMO, be it stun's, scramblers, ecm's or whatever.
Problem is that the "lockdown player" is usually just an alt, scrambling/jamming/webbing for the main charecter who will come and play a "hero" and finish off the lone traveller when he is jammed, scrambled, webbed - and totally helpless. It's usually only a problem when you travel alone... or in a defenceless ship, since most gankers are too afraid to attack ships that carry guns.
That problem is solved in most OTHER games, by adding an immunity timer to the tackle effect. So if you get scrambled for 30 sec's by one player, your computers will be able to reject an assault from the same tackler for 30 sec's when the effect runs out. Of cause... that may not be enough for a kill in every situation, some ships will take longer to shoot down, but that's where teammates really begins to make a difference - the ship may be immune to YOUR scrambler, but.. not to your gangmember's.
Of cause this topic upset the usual trolls, but what's to be expected. PvP is fun, but.. if it's only a matter of who makes the first lockdown its not.
