Originally by: Audrea Well thats fine and good, but point is, ISS dont just send pvpers for skirmishes.. they actually intervene in another conflict for territorial contesting.
Do you realise that ISS are indeed neutral to entities in EVE except those that are hostile to it. When someone shoots ISS they have opened the door for ISS to set them to -10, once you accept that they do indeed have that option and also maintain EVE neutrality then all will be made clear. All of the combatants against UK are hostile with ISS, also ISS does not want those hostiles to have a base very near to one of their interests. Now who said that ISS have to limit their responce to anyone who attacks them? Why should it be limited to skirmishing? Once you make ISS set you to red then they can do what they want to, up to and including taking or stopping you getting an outpost of your own.
Originally by: Audrea No, its obvious they will not, however the point is, ISS doesnt know for 100% certainity that THEY will be the next target to be sieged.
It doesn't matter if ISS think they will be sieged or not, these people attacking UK are their enemies, and also attack all those who would trade with ISS and thus help them satisfy their share holders. Thus ISS have a moral obligation to thier share holders to pacify an area surrounding thier outposts in order for trade and thus dividends to be maximised.
Originally by: Audrea Sure, if ISS was just another alliance like the rest, that wouldnt be exceptional, but they claim to be neutrals.
I mean, attacking pirates randomly is one thing and is fine, but intervening in another conflict? no matter how close it is, that means they arent that neutral, cause as I said they cant be sure that EST and the others will turn on ISS outposts next.
Attacking those that are hostile to them anyway does not break this neutrality as there is no limit on the action they can take, if there was they would loose their outposts. Once you shoot ISS ships or break their rules in their space you are fair game, in fact I remember recently ISS reset their standings back to neutral to give people a second chance so the corps they are attacking now really want to be hostile with ISS.
Originally by: Audrea All true, its also possible they deployed 5bil in towers just to get some decent pvp
But yeah I agree about the POS fuel bull.. not very interstin part of the game, although I imagine fueling them with Nyx should be very easy hehe, she can jump like 6 industrials at once, thats enough fuel for all 5 towers
Yes I think Establishment and their allies are really going for this, however personally I think that the holding space way of life will be a whole new ball game for them and one I don't think they'd enjoy. Of course they could prove me wrong on this and it isn't a comment on their abilities or anything but just a personal objective viewpoint.

I don't think these guys plan on holding the outpost - they are just busting out the shiny ships and getting some good fights. Their assault plan does not sound very well thought-out, and they have not done their homework on the U'K and its friendships. My guess is they pop some POSs, maybe claim the outpost for a day or two, do some chest-thumping, then run off before the real work sets in.

Given that the preparation for this assault dates back at least one month, it seems unlikely that the sole goal is a few days worth of fun. And given that the attacking coalition includes EST (a well-known user of a large capital ship) and Ethereal Dawn (a producer of capital ships), it would not be unreasonable to conclude that the ultimate aim is to establish a capital shipyard in 9uy.

Originally by: Wild Rho I was very suprised to see veto named amoung the corps involved.
Why? IIRC, Veto do take on the occasional contract, as do most pirate corps. Also have a safe haven for conducting 0.0 piracy is always a bonus.
Nate.
Long story short as far as I knew Veto was hostile to everyone except snigg and that was it. Hearing they are also doing merc work is a bit of a suprise, that's all.
Myself, or the rest of my members do not feel the urge to get involved in a childish smack war on the forums, since it will only reflect badly on our name and that's something that none of our guys want. Hence, I'll be the only person posting here when needed.
We were asked to come along on this, and were flattered by the invitation that FZN and EST offered. Yes, it is strange adjusting to having more than one blue corp in Eve, the corp thought and decided as one, long and hard about this for several weeks before joining in, we all feel the rewards that a venture like this can present are worth it, even if we're only there for the fighting.
This is not merc work, we're not being paid. We're simply there to fight and kill, or die as some of us occasionally do. We're there purely for the action.
On a further note, as for bragging about killing a Veto ceptor squad with a "Discophoon", go you. Our guys had a good laugh about it afterwards, it happens. I expected smack from Ushra'Khan, it tends to happen outside the realms of RP, but it's ignored by our members.
We're not there to flash off our killboard statistics, or look like "teh uber pvpers" in front of people, we play for fun.
Our corp has nothing to prove to anyone in Eve, trolling us on the forums regarding killing a few ceptors (with a smartbombing Typhoon, of all things) will not grant you a satisfying torrent of smacktalk from my members.
To Ushra'Khan and ISS? Good fight so far, our members are having fun.

There is so much speculation about the attack in 9uy.
Allow me to clarify a few small points.
1. UK is considered a weak alliance, as per information provided to us, and there pathetic resistance efforts. Not only do they not deserve to hold the system, but they do so ineffectivly.
2. ISS is of little concern to us. This fractioned alliance is so spread thin in eve right now, its amazing they had the ability to muster up the carrier resistance that they did. i am throughly impressed by this, as i am sure i will be by there timly defeat.
3. Our pirate coalition will take the station, and hold it for as long as we choose. The radicial Ammarians nearby should perhaps content with the brewing dissent withing there own ranks before attempting to quell any assualts they clearly do not have the stomach for, lest they be WD'ed.
More information will be provided by the hunters as our prey are swiftly defeated. History is written by the winners, not the slaves....

A quick scan of B1uedrag0n on our killboards indicates that he has not been involved in any kills nor have ushra'khan killed him. Given the fact this conflict has been going on for well over a month all I can do at this stage is laugh.
I will put my hands up right now and say that U'K is not the best PVP alliance out there, but we are certainly not weak. And Right now our kills are 50/50 against superior numbers that include corps like EST and FZN who actually know what they are doing.
I do not expect to lose this outpost, nor will I be suprised if we do.

You'd be surprised at how much truth there is in his post. Planning may predate the attack by a month, but that doesn't make it well planned. It just means the corporations involved don't know what they are doing as an alliance. Mostly because they all come from a similar background and hate the very concept of an alliance.

What Digital said.
I'm sure they have *thought* about holding the station, but I don't think they have thought through a plan on keeping it for an extended period. I don't see these guys getting in the hauling and standings business, all big parts of holding an outpost, and they have made a classic mistake of uniting, not dividing, the local natives.
As for the shipyard, 9UY would have to be one of the worst places to establish a capital shipyard in and of itself, being so close to empire. Capital shipyards have proven themselves to be smackdown beacons in such locations. But to do so as a collective entity that has nothing but enemies in the area and by wresting control of the station from shall we say an unnaturally zealous alliance like the U'K, however weak their PVPing might be, would be sheer folly. But they do like fighting, so maybe that's what this is all about. They would probably end up spending less just hiring us to fight them.

I see Pirates as a missunderstood word.
i see pirates as teachers and i will tell you why they are missunderstood
pirates are just highly territorial and will shoot anything embarking on the same territory as them. best to be not in the same place
they all are people to and alot of them are the most down to earth people i know
pirates also teach us when we are weak to be stronger you know that hauler you lost because you where traveling alone ? you just got taught to travel armed or in a group.
piratecy is not a bad thing it is actually a very beutiful way of life if you actually understood it they are not here to wreck your day as it may seem many times over and over again that they are. you just aint seeing them for what they are as great teachers full of wisdom trying to share it with you in the best way possible with pure brute force to knock it in.
dont mock them for there action thank them for there help. ☠'s ftw

Last Week 128 kills for, 151 Kills against 9995 points for, 10980 points against

A huge battle occured between EST Allied forces and U'K Allied forces an hour or so ago as we were assaulting one of U'Ks POS's. In the ensuing battle, ships were lost on both sides, including an allied Dread. In the midst of this engagement, for both sides, was horrendous lag before the node dropped mid-battle, causing much of 9UY to crash. The Carrier was lost some time before this engagement and quite frankly, seeing a Carrier die in what was recorded as about 30 seconds, was surprising. Though I suppose 40 Fighters and a few dozen enemy ships will do it
Still, it has been fun so far. Onwards!
