I just want to say with the hour I had to mess around today, that this is one of the coolest and most visually stimulating patches I've seen since I've started playing EVE.
Woot!
Looking forward to EVE: TOTALHELLDEATH in 6 months to a year.
and yes I do want to be able to tell my friends and family I am playing a game called, EVE: TOTALHELLDEATH |

I hope this doesn't mean that WiS is dead.
I welcome Crucible, I think it will be awesome. But I really do hope future expansions revisit WiS. There's so much potential there. Don't let the reaction to the calamities that surrounded Incarna discourage you from developing the brilliant concept at the heart of it. |

I just hope you guys can follow through.
We need delayed local in null sec. We need better industry. We need objectives for small gangs and ways to force fights outside of pos/sov blobby timered crap (the ability to attack moon mining array is a great idea). |

Looks like a good expansion. Getting back to FiS is good, still, I don't expect you to abandon WiS entirely, I expect that Future Vision video within like ten years. |

Quote:So... no affordable NEx store... no full-fledged Incarna... no new casual content... no new solo content... no new PvE content...
Why should I keep paying to play this game?
Crucible, to me, means ZERO gameplay, both in space and in stations.
I don't know how many are out there who feel like me; you reelased Incarna way too early, now it's on hold or however it is,and you're putting effort into stuff I don't care about or don't have the time to use.
I don't have time to wait for other people to have fun together.
i don't have time to waste not having fun.
And there is no bloody alternative to this game.
So, well, either I look for some new hobby (unlikely), play some new game (been there, done that, only EVE is EVE, dammit), or keep bitchin aorund this forums until some CCP vows that Summer 2012 expansion is gonna throw gameplay my way.
SOLO content. CASUAL content. PvE content. Space Barbies content.
Any of them would suit me. But. Give. Me. More. Gameplay. So... no affordable NEx store... no full-fledged Incarna... no new casual content... no new solo content... no new PvE content...-á

Looks good so far, but does corp locations work as intended? Tabs for corp localtion not working when trying to add a bookmark, only from personal locations to corp bookmarks. Thats really undoable with close to 3000 bookmarks... Workaround is to sort locations with a time stamp and adding only the latest... Ugleb > and TDR won't log in so long as their core members are demotivated for whichever reason is in flavour this week |

On a side note, shall we maybe throw Soundwave a fire extinguisher now, or wait until he is a little more well done.... I am a pod pilot:

I'd like to suggest a sweeping advance to patch deployment to further raise your software usability level beyond 1999! Can you display the patch notes during the installation phase? Then we could read the glory of what is at hand and pass the time while our computers click and whirr (they all do that right?).
I mean, stick a link to updated notes on the patcher, even just pop open a readme.txt in notepad. That is, if your upcoming launcher can't handle it... |

The good news is that the 18 months are over and it feels pretty good. We had about 4-6 weeks of actual development time to put this release together and I honestly feel that this is the best release weGÇÖve done in years.
18 months minus 4 to 6 weeks
lol and everybody is happy good job CCP

I think this is the best patch yet. Corp BM's and fuel blocks, as a w-space dweller, are the things that will make my game sooo much easier to play, up the tempo of pew pew opportunities, and allow my horde of peons to join in on the fun without having to dump a jetcan at a planet or in a GSC.
I'm also very interested to see how the hybrid buff goes - I trained large blaster spec and Gal BS 5 just for this. I've got a 1700DPS Kronos I'm itching to try out now it might concievably hit something. This was way overdue.
The tier 3 BC's I reckon will need blancing in time, but we'll see. The supercap nerf and new logoff mechanics will stop nulltards playing dead to avoid the bears. Stopping PL hotdropping Cynabals in Amamke with 4 supers is long, long overdue and will hopefully tempt more people into brosec.
Lets hope that your upcoming buff to EWAR frigs and making Black Ops ships more usable amounts to something, hint hint. The skilful employer of men will employ the wise man, the brave man, the covetous man, and the stupid man. Sun Tzu

Let's see, 4 hours to download patch. Fails. 3 hours to run repair tool. Fails. I run repair tool again, it says another 3 hours, but what did it do for the previous 3 hours? Or I can download full client (1 day and 13 hours.) Damn, I only had a four day skill training.
What am I supposed to be excited about again?
BTW, the new orange background for the forums works really great with the orange lettering. |

It is quite apparent you only had 4-6 weeks of development time - things are broken, features aren't what they were hyped upped to be.
Overall very disappointed. |

Summary,
You ignored us all for 2 years while you played angry birds and read vampire novels, then tried to squeeze more money from us with NeX, partially delivered the only single player multi-instanced, GPU killing MMORP in the world, we all screamed, you panic and in 6 weeks proved that every time we asked for improvements in FiS and you told us it was "too hard" you were lying, then you blamed it all on WiS.
So now WiS is dead, a feature a lot of us really wanted and the one thing that would dramatically increase the subscriber base of Eve won't happen.
And we should queue the balloons and party!
Uhm, sure. Woot! You go you awesome FiS-er devs!
This was a nice overdue major patch, some is nice eye candy. And it shows you don't have to do that much to placate the shouty minority. Four to six weeks every 6 months, I want that job.
But I don't see how I can ever believe another promise you make since this expansion proves just how much you've ignored the game to date, how little effort you would have had to make to deliver anything we would have wanted and how you now seem to lack any hint of vision to deliver anything more than incremental "more of the same".
We wanted awesome new sci fi game experiences and we got "new coke".
I do sound bitter, I know but CCP, you seem to have caved, you seem to want to throw out the baby with the bath water. WiS is important to your future. Where in this dev blog was a hint we will ever see the experience deplicted in the fanfest video of a real full sci fi world. Deliver that and you will be game dev gods. Continue increment rehash of the Eve that exists now which is what this expansion was (not even the whole Eve of today! ) and you'll be only know by the handfull of folks working on an Eve emulator server when you are gone.
Dammit CCP! Give us a dev blog that shows you still have that vision!!

Producing so much shiny content in only 4-6 weeks is a fine effort. I've been working towards a software release for December at my own employer....what was meant to be minor bug fixing only, turned into add features X, Y, Z and fix a much longer list of bugs. Managing a late direction change for release is hard to do, so well done. I look forward to seeing what you can do with longer dev cycles with your new and improved focus on the stuff people really care about.
Cheers, Mat |

I definitely understand the pain of the POS and fuel pelets and lower timers a great but I guess I just didn't read much in the blog that led me to believe we could expect any more POS stuff soon.
It would be good if we got more improvements in that area.
