How many of you have been in the middle of a mission/PvP/mining/NPCing/whatever else to get the dreaded Connection Lost message. You know that when you are able to get back in you woll be sans drones.
How many billions of isk in drones have been lost this way? With Harvesters, all the T2 drones, and fighters. A carrier losing a flight of fighters is about a 200m isk loss.
What I propose is that the same logic that warps you way after a d-con also recalls drones. The drone recall should not make the ship wait (I'd rather lose a few drones than my entire ship). It should not make the drones unkillable (to prevent Domi users to send out the drones then when they take heavy damage log off right away).

Or at least make it so that you can remotely (within your drone control range) regain control of drones in the local area that belong to you.

Imagine if any other ships, when disconnected, lost a turret or launcher...
Even if they just warp out to the same location and still need to be gathered, that would be good enough for me.
Edit: retarded grammar

Fighters follow you in warp, so with a carrier you just have to make a bookmark right when you login so you can collect them where they warped with you. Still somewhat time intensive though.
Either way, I agree, adding a "return to droen bay" command to your drones when you loose connection would be very nice.

There aren't any right places to do it at the moment, there hasn't been a dev response on any significant issue in the past month in any forum.
Each day I check the dev post finder, it's mostly those new ones spamming random forums with pointless natter.

At least give us drone control back once we log back on and they're sitting there... rather than lug our Battleship 140m/sec to grab our drones 15k away while we watch the rats take them out.

The forum categories don't really work at the moment.
Ideally suggestions like this would go into the Game Development forum, but that's a real gamble most of the time. Many suggestions go completely unnoticed; I can tell by the way they don't even appear as Known Issues after bug reports from people, and the subsequent post asking for clarification on whether a bug really is a bug gets no reply.
General Discussion is a waste of time unless you're posting in a dev stickied thread, everything gets buried under the mass of spam. Ships & Modules actually seems to get read more often, even on issues which are vaguely related (like this one), and it seems to have the best ratio of discussed issues -> known issues -> in patch.
(actually I tell a lie, Zrakor is highly efficient in the Missions forum - but that's about the only other one )

Drones are classified as "Ship Equipment" are they not? Therefore I think the post should be here. If you think otherwise e-mail the mods and ask that they move it. While you're at it could you ask them to have a dev take a look. Oh, and have a high-ranking GM read this over two and inform us that any petition of drones lost to d-cons will be replaced. Thank you.
Hell, I'd even be happy if drones showed up as "Lost in space" with a warp to option. RP-logic behind that would be that the drone got lost and activates a secure homing beacon. By secure, I mean it only transmits to your ship. If it were like an emergency broadcast then I'd hate to look in overview in Motsu after a crash. (150 mission runners * 5 drones each sending broadcasts system-wise=LAG)
I just hate, more that just about anything else in EvE, having the serve go down and me lose my drones. The only thing worse is logging back in to a pod.

Here comes another suggestion... CCP needs to hire a couple of true forum w***3z... I mean warriors... to read threw the slew of ideas. Find the nuggets that are largely supported and valid, and then make a list the gets submitted to devs. The devs review the list and then take the good ideas and add them to a feature list and burn the bad ones.
Heh, I think it'd also be funny to compile a list of the top 10 worst ideas and have the devs flame them.

Drones cant return to you when you disconnect, because you're in warp.
Reganing control once you're back in range would be nice though.
Sorry you can't afford a dev so you get me instead ^^ - Xorus I hear Xorus is only 50 isk an hour - Immy Oooh that could get Suvetar for the day! - Cathath |

your ship stays in space for 1 minute before warping to a place it disapears in, so it is possible.

It doesn't. Once you log you warps "at once". For a BS this will take a bit because it has to allign & accellerate, an inty will do this in a few seconds.
Either way, it is is very possible to get the drones back "in warp", nothing different with giving a manual warp-to order and calling the drones back. If you have heavies 60 km away they prolly won't make it till you warp, but lights attacking a target 10 km away easily can.

Actually your ships warp right away and then stays in space for about a minute.

I'd be happy with CCP people that actually play the game and don't after a half year of posting suddenly go "Whoops, I didn't even know of this issue!"

Why 0,0 NPCers should have it easy (oh - hostile on local, lets log so my drones scoop automatically). At least they lose a bit of cash/firepower when i kill leftover drones.

This is the most stupid argument ever. So you're saying that it gives you a certain lvl of satisfaction when ppl lose 500k (lol) worth of drones after they log?? I agree logging is bad (I hate it just as much as you), but not fixing current drone behavior because of that reason is stupid.
It's like saying "if ppl log off they should automatically have all their ammo dumped in space"...

Actually your idea abt ammo being dumped is pretty good tbh - would stop logon traps/ loging off in enemy territory.
