I wonder who in CCP hired SOE to mess up the game?

i am having the same feelings i had when i was about to leave WOW, "they dont care". i am more reluctant believe it though. C'mon CCP, EvE has one of the most mature and intelligent community online. Give us something, why these are happening, what are you going to do to solve them? devs dont need to write huge blogs, just have your PR/CM guys chat with devs and they can write it. Then you will have more time on actually fixing stuff. there is no worse death than the end of hope |

You are aware there's still millions of BMs, perhaps even billions, on TQ, that's what's causing part of the problem. Copying just makes the problem worse as the number of BMs increases, hence the nerf. ------ Proud Member of 5punkorp |

Why not kick all macros and gold-diggers ? They make up half the EVE population anyway. But of course this would be loosing income, but then again, if that population continues to grow as it is now, and I realy find gold-diggers in ANY system at ANY moment, true players will leave and eventually gold-diggers will have nobody to sell to anymore and EVE will unfortunately die ;-(

I'd really like an answer from the devs as to why BM's were never a problem for the 2+ years this game has been up for, but in the last two months they have ruined the gameplay?

The worst thing about all of this... and I mean the worsening lag across EVE, the server problems caused by Jita and the failure of the Dragon Code to improve things..... the worst thing is the failure of CCP to publicly acknowledge that there is a problem.
- Fleet battles are laggier than ever. - Jita and systems like it suffering from chronic overpopulation are affecting everybody else playing the game. - An increasing player base is compounding all these problems and makes things worse.
It would be nice if CCP devs explained what they think the problems are and how they plan to solve them.
Its common courtesy IMO and the failure to do so is making a lot of people a little angry.

The lag in aramachi makes me cry. It's like running underwater when you do anything. Takes 10 seconds to activate modules at all times of the day and night. Constant rubberbanding where your ship bounces back or you keep seeing the same thing happen over and over like a broken record. Loading anything is just painful. Reloading weapons can take up to a minute or even two. Looting after you are done...it sometimes takes 20 seconds to open a loot can. Oh and let's not forget about the 30 to 1 minute long lag spikes where NOTHING updates at all and then you see it all fast forward. Best way to run missions right now is to have a setup that can just shield boost indefinitely and a lot. Set it and forget it.
Anyway, this is not fun anymore. I feel masochistic playing in this.

I agree. Its been like this for 5-6 weekends now, and it really is time they run a blog on it, explaining what they intend to do about it. What is causing these problems and what can be done?
Its not normal for a game to crash under too high load every sunday, when alot of people have time to spend in the game.
I felt the problems were temporary a month ago, but now im getting as tired of it as everyone else. Feel free to discuss possible solutions with us, ccp.

They are deleting threads to keep the comments in one place so the devs can read it.
I dont know why people feel this is unfair censorship... you really want 20 threads complaining about the problem on the first page in General? Fat chance the devs will find them on monday...
LOL, yeah ok...right.. going by what's been happening lately, I'm inclined to wonder if they have been reading ANY of the posts on these boards..

Thats another matter. We all want feedback from the devs, but spraying the first page with new threads is only counter-productive. Keep it to this thread so they will read it.

bahaahhahahahahaha, that was a good one! nope, they arent reading any of this. hopefully they already know how bad the situation is and they are planning a solution. Hell, i can even settle for if they publicly realize how bad things have been for the past month or so and offer some kind of compensation for this mess. people say "you want 50cents for an hour loss?" well those hours actually add up and when we can play, the actual game experience is not great either. there is no worse death than the end of hope |

You assume the devs read them anyway. I'm sure we'll just get an apology tommorow when the server comes back up and that will be it.

though, I think the funniest thing is the "BM's are causing it" which still seems to prevail among the "BM's are bad crowd cause I want an I win button at the gates".. personally if anything it has gotten worse since the nerf.. I think this shoots down alot of the BM's are causing it whining.. do they cause some lag? no doubt we saw what happened last weekend when everyone did it massively, but yet we all know there is no way it is being done as much this weekend and the lag is even worse..
so what gives?

Edited by: Befounder on 10/09/2006 19:23:34 i am guessing because CCP is growing, and more players are coming to play EvE, CCP went to blizzard or SOE to get some training on how to handle this big of a crowd. Seems like they are fast learners.

i knoooooooow. they nerfed BMs, they renewd the codebase, we had the uber yarrrrrrdware which could supposedly be listed among top500 supercomputers, but we have worse lag. mr. murphy must be working hard! there is no worse death than the end of hope |

I think they will run a blog on it...after all these problems, they must feel the need to explain the reasons for all the problems. Maybe they dont have the solution ready, but maybe they can share what they are considering...or not. I hope so.

I have been playing EVE now for over 2 years and having started a new job recently looked forward to playing a few hours today. Warped in to help a buddy on a mission to suddenly finding taking amounts of damage (akin to when my two faction shield boosters arent on) decide to warp out. Only my autopilot decided to take 12 seconds to think about moving then after that sitting there in my smoking ship with no armor or structure. Then the thing starts recharging shields???
So after a few minuters it decided then to self destruct. So another HAC down the drain, and will prob take how many weeks to be re-imbursed? Having spoke to corp mates and trawling forums it seems the servers been this bad all week at least??
Not inspiring much confidence AT ALL at hte mo im afraid CCP. And before anyone starts flaming about complexity etc im not claiming otherwise jsut that this is surely an unacceptable state of affairs and should be acknowledged as such?
Living in hope at the mo that CCP will restore my fait. ---------------------------------

The lag sucks.
The Dragon Code Sucks as its causing the lag.
The programmers at CCP suck as they wrote the Dragon Code.
We'd all prefer to go back to the old codebase, which worked very well, and maybe then I can have osme of my f***ing newbie courier agents back.
I think that about covers it.

Adding my voice to the annoyed masses. Two ships down to this lag already.
I even went to Solitude thinking it might be lag free since its probably the quietest region in eve but if anything its worse out here.
