Oblivion comes to mind, with all the raving reviews it got everywhere, yet it sucks so much. (no i don't have US PCG but i know how it works  )

I was reading my PCGamer in the living room saw the ad, ran my ass upstairs and checked the site hoping to god that maybe CCP released Kali, or some exspansion with the ships early.

I can't speak on the quality of PCGUK, but the US one is truly awful now. It was good for a time, but it's just garbage now.

Get this guy an issue of PC Zone from about 15 months ago, point him at the reviews section, and hand him a picture of Zap. You'll see him sitting right there as a full time reviewer, now freelancer

Not being from either the US or the UK, I can say this is true for all magazines, be it gaming, general PC, photography...
