I know this is wayyyy early considering that CCP plans on keeping this baby running for a long time. However When and if EVE 2 comes out what would u guys like to see implemented which may not be implemented in the game right now due to the amount of changes it would require etc. Also what would u like to see back and what would u change from the current game? BTW DONNOT WHINE ON THIS THREAD!!! its a post to simply share vision of what the next game (if there is going to be one) should be in your opinion.
Some of these ideas are shared by many in the community and i thought they were cool.
-Planetary bases/stations
-Being able to use ur character to walk around a station to buy items, simply to have a more personalized interaction with other people.
-Have more events along the lines of tournaments such as:
*race tournaments to name best pilot of the race for that period.
*speed tournamets
*Small gang tournamets
* and ofc the good ol corp/alliance tournaments.
IN all of these people would get isk rewards and in some special occations they could get an officer/faction module. Perhaps even special ships liek theyve done in the past.
Ill post others when i remember...too much in my head lol.

There will never be an Eve 2. CCP will just keep modifying the existing game.

Im sure they would, but i think at some point they would have to change things too deeply to keep new things coming in; and doing that is no easy task..

Wrong other game companys just tell you that.In the dragon code alone i believe they almost had a total rewrite of a lot of code(if i am remebering what a dev said correctly).Once kali-3 comes out you will be playing EVE-2.

Since the game was released every single little thing has changed, except for maybe right click- target. Every mod and ship has been changed and re-changed, drastically at times. There are probably 4 to 5 times as many ships out, a whole new tech level, and many completely new moduals such as tractor breams and target painters for the most obvious. The layout of the universe has changed and many routes got shorter when the highways were implimented, and then later changed to make them longer. Even things as simple as the graphic icon in the target window showing how much damage you have done to your target has changed, as it used to be a circle, the top half being shield, bottom armor, and you guess how much structure.
In every way, we are playing Eve 2, maybe 3, just like the poster above said Eve has no numbers, it is just Eve.

EVE 2? HAHAHA, you only started playing eve about 3 months ago according to your characters age, and you are already asking for EVE 2?
Whats wrong? You gutted that EVE's been out for a while so theres a lot more older players than you? Guess what, there will be no EVE 2, EVE is EVE and its ever evolving, theres no need to EVE 2.

Ummm no...im not asking for EVE 2. I will keep playing this game as long as i can and i have no issues w older players tbh. If u actually read the OP u will notice that im simply asking what would people like to see IF a new EVE were to be made. Stop coming to your own conclusions. The fact that there a player is older than me doesnt mean i am not able to beat him/her in pvp...
Anyway since it seems that i wasnt aware of the remarkable changes this game has undergone in the past i guess ill simply ask this:
What would u guys like to see implemented that u think would make this game even more fun to play.

Indeed no need for EVE 2 or anything of the sort. EVE is constantly evolving, no need for any other game or "expansion". IMHO this is one of the reasons CCP is doing so well. If you had to buy all of the expansions Exodus, RMR soon to be Kali, or other games. I don't think they would have as many players. Maybe so though.

I highly doubt there will be an EVE 2.
All MMORPG that had a "2" inserted in the game name have been partial or complete failure (AC 2, EQ2)
You normally make a 2 when you dont have enough content to extend the current one...
Eve have not enough place to extend current stuff??

That's already being done by both players and CCP (the EVE Racing League is still around somewhere, i thought...)

Meh, dont knock him. Especially since he hasnt lived through an expansion.
That said, there is nothing more exciting then a new EVE content patch..errr.. well maybe my GF doing X to chick Y while I do A to Chicks C, D, and E! (hasnt happened yet, and Im not getting my hopes up)

Personally speaking id love this, i think it would make the game more immersive/interpersonal instead of us being represented by the ships we fly/a stationary portrait but like the gent above said it would be hard to program and no doubt bring more juicy lag to our systems.
A shame, but i dont blame em at all for not introducing them cos if we had mobile avatars/charators CCCP would be guaranteed about 3-4 new threads a day beggin for guns/melee avatar combat with lazer pistols/SWG type karate kid boxing and plant battles, which aint what makes Eve what it is in my opinion.

for me EVE2 will be the one EVE with "node-power on the fly". I dont know if its not implemented in EVE because of the server architecture or the like, but yes, i see the management of systems and thus gameexperience a reason to change EVE so fundamentally that it will be easier to do an EVE2.
If i'm wrong...then i hope that the "node-power on the fly" will be the next thing going into EVE, so that we can all enjoy the shiny new stuff.
P.S. Characters in stations are not hard to programm....EnB had them already, and thats years ago. The thing is that EVE is not about chars, but about ships. A dev said once: "you will see characters on stations when they also will have a phaser to shoot eachother".

There's no reason for an EVE 2. All other MMORPGs that made a "2" failed because most people don't want to start over and lose all their work.
EVE can keep growing and growing anyway. Imagine this in 10 years or so:
Once an alliance has an outpost, they can start developing the nearby planet in a sim city-like minigame and than when an enemy alliance attacks the planet, you can go fight them in an fps minigame. Also have enemies boarding ships or stations and fighting them fps style inside there!
Well that's my dream for EVE although it'll probably never happpen...

Of course there is a reason for EVE 2.
Its something every mmo game will run into, no matter how many expansions.
There is a limit till how far you can let characters develop, without making the game too easy or to make it impossible for new chars to keep a chance.
Its already way too tricky now for ccp, to invent new skills, without boosting the damage of players too fast.
So, that is a reason that an EVE 2 makes sense: fresh start for everyone in a game, that would be mostly similiar and would provide another X years of character development.

There will never be an EVE-2. It will split the community in two. Look at other games that have had sequels. UT sucked because they made crappy sequels. There is no reason to make an EVE-2 anyway, they might as well jsut give the current game a makeover.

It's probably more likely that they start working on a completely different game than on a sequel. There is just too many improvements that could be released over time.

Probably, making a second version of an MMORPG does nothing but divide the community, spend a lot of money, and fail miserably.

As for the future of EVE:
Epic battles for control of planets!!! I.E. some kind of EVE version of BF2 with troops on the ground fighting, gallentean planetary vehicls with machine guns on them, bombardment from orbiting craft :D
That would be the final destination for me... baby it would be hot!

I am wondering about Eve2, but not as in Eve-online. CCP's solo credit to date is Eve-online. Do they intend to devleop anything outside Eve?
Frankly CCP while doing a great job, relaying in a single IP is dangerous.

EVE2 would be cool... if its really a big difference... but hey it needs allot of creativity, infact... it would take more then the regular intoxication to figure out EVE2... yes Iceland would need a drug clinic as a safetynet to make EVE2.

Incorrect. All those who go on saying that all MMO's that have a "2" in there title have failed havn't looked into Lineage 2. It is doing just fine, and has a much bigger player base then Eve even though it's been out longer then eve.
So yes I think a eve 2 could suceed, thought maybe a better name then "eve 2" would be appropiate.
What would I want to see in it? well a new story line based on the far future after the major galactic all out war with the fractions...the political landscape whould have drasticaly changed. Now regions found. changes on where 0.0 and empire are, and totally new set of ships etc.

Eve is the lifework of the people steering CCP. In fact, as far as I know, Eve came before CCP did. I strongly doubt CCP will create something new, at least not in the forseeable future.

There have been rumours, based I think on a couple of interviews done by the CEO of CCP (or someone to that effect) of CCP having another project in the pipeline. Whilst I severely doubt it'll be an 'EVE 2' - I think there may have been something refuting that possibility in said interviews - it may mean CCP not holding all it's eggs in one IP basket.
EVE grows and changes so much that everything it will ever be shall always simply be part of 'EVE' rather than split into closely associated sequel franchises. If its sufficiently different enough to warrant a second game, it's no longer EVE and so 'EVE 2' would be a drastic misnomer.
