Actually 20% or even more of the accounts are probably ebayed.
Its sad. But i think it does not make sense to forbid account selling (i talk of the full account, not ISK!) And why? A ebay-sold account is good for all others: - CCP has a new customer - old player gets cash for his 2-3 years of work - other players get a nice target to kill: a n00b in a BS with best equipment! What do we want more???
I would allow Ebay-selling of accounts, but hunt ISK sellers.

CCP sure goes after ISK buyers. I know a guy who bough ISK for a Freighter. Lost both the freighter and the billion. mwhahahah -1,000,000,000 doh!
Too bad for those who buy characters. They miss the best part that is to grow up in EVE. Its their lost.

I don't agree with this 100%. Generally I'm against buying some uber account with, say, 31 million SP when you haven't even done the tutorial in-game in your life. However, I feel that the gameplay learning curve and the skill attainment grind curve aren't in equilibrium for all players. I have played Eve for long enough at this point that I know what I want to fly, but my character is at least 1.5 months from flying it. I have enough experience in game to do well with a better character, but the skills grind at this point is worthless to me because all I want to really do is stay docked and train skills. If I go out I risk losing my imps, but if I jump clone to a clone without imps I lose training time. This takes me farther from my ultimate goal and therefore isn't worth it.
What I would rather do (and actually what I'm trying to do) is take some ISK and buy an alt who is about 6-7 million SP ahead -- that way, for me at least, the gameplay learning curve and skill attainment curve are more closely matched. I'm a bright player and a quick learner. There's no reason I should be bored and station-camped after just six weeks in game.
For other players it's different, but at least for me it makes sense. That said - I always follow CCP rules and would never buy a character from ebay... hence the (so far fruitless) search on these forums for a replacement main.

Yes well I think EvE is vastly different from any other game and those who choose to take shortcuts do not deserve to play and will end up quitting shortly.

Oh spare me. That is the most poorly-thought out, elistist garbage argument on the matter I've ever heard. You are making a blanket generalization of all new players. Is that based on your own experience? Did it take you "months" to figure out how to properly fit/fly a specific ship? How do you know that it would take me "months" to figure it out? Ridiculous assertion.

I don't think that's what was said at all. He simply said that people learn at different rates, and he might learn quicker. Is that so hard to understand?

YES, i do know that this guy is an EBAY Accoutn for sure. first of all he tried to kill noobs in low sec, so i took out his ferox with the cerberus.
than he coems back with another account,. guese what the other account he came with was a Friend of ours From DICE, the guy had soem issue with dice so he quit the game and sold his account. the funny thing is that this guy spoke french mostly and knew only a bit of english. now suddenly this person no longer recognise me, no longer speaks french, and he is talking to me how he is going to sue me over attacking him in english and german, wtf.
yes iam 100% sure he is an EBAY account, yet He is still logging in every day, and the petetion i made has been closed.
iam not giving any names regarding the petetion, because we re not allowed of course.

I spare nobody.
And yes, it literally does take that long to be considered remotely "good" with a ship.

uhm .. no it doesn't take month to know how to fit a ship properly ... only a look at the forums ...
but it takes month to know exactly what your ship and setup CAN DO and CAN NOT DO ... not that often because the player isn't learning that fast - but more that the different situation doesn't occure that often ... and it also depends on the player - if someone pvps everyday extensive (especially in time, also the "quility" of the kills is important - not the quantity) he will know better and faster what his ship can do and what not, but it still takes lot of time and effort for him to figure most of the things out ...

Off-topic posts removed, whilst CCP may choose not to broadcast every time they remove ebayers from the game, make no mistake this is going on.
iirc the last time it was a news item was when 200+ accounts were removed.
As for actual process, if someone accused you of being an ebayer I'm sure you would prefer a lengthy investigation rather than a knee-jerk reaction and it takes time to get that evidence.

Nah, people would then whine about how CCP is spending too much time hunting down Ebayers and too little time fixing bugs/server issues. --- "Into the fire, she swallowed their hate." - Dahlia Gillespie ***

Im sorry but this is complete rubbish !
My account was banned for an alleged illigal charachter transfer all to do with me informing my corp thats what I was doing.
No contact was made with me prior to banning, No investigation was caried out at all. And if it was I'm afraid I would go as far to say that you employ slightly above average IQ monkeys.
#Account was still being paid for by same owner and his credit card. #Static IP address remained the same. #Log in times remained exactly the same. #I ripped off the corp that petitioned me, Corp thief spring to mind
I have no dought this will be removed, but any reading it know what a complete load of horse **** what you just said was.
