Why is Oveur getting hairier? How come reverse engineering is now called invention? Why doesn't Clover do graphics? And what does the Loch Ness Monster have to do with any of it?
All this and more will be answered in this Blog.

One question - the blog states something like "anything with a t2 equivalent can be invented"; does this include, say, Cargo Expander 2s? (which don't currently *exist* in-game, but do in some odd database fashion) ------------------------------------ My newest smartbomb destroyer:

so it will be possible to invent with out having any R&D agents?
earlier blogs said that the data cores would only come from R&D agents... but it seams they can be drops also?

Yes - clarification on currently unseeded T2 items would be great. Cargo expander II's were the first thing that popped into my head when i read that!

It says Quote: Finally, you need the racial Encryption skills to use the Data Interfaces. These skills are already in the game, but currently are associated with pirate factions (i.e. Angel Encryption Methods). Once Revelations hits the street these skills will be associated with the empires instead (so Angel Encryption Methods becomes Minmatar Encryption Methods). This does not affect those that already have the skill.
So what would happen to the 'Jolt' BPCs? Would I be able to use Minmatar Encryption Methods or would it remain as Angel? If still Angel how could I get hold of the skill if it no longer exists?

's good and all, but is anyone else having trouble loading the images? staff.ccpgames.com seems a bit slow.
Additionally, there seems to be three different outcomes when you invent on certain BPCs. Take the Atron BPC. You get either of: Nothing Ares Taranis ... Wait... That's two outcomes. Nothing or a Taranis. DOH. Now for the question. Since datacores and whatnot might be quite expensive, are we ever going to have the less desirable ships, such as the Ares or Raptor, fixed so that we don't waste our RPs? It's not an issue with BPCs where there's only one outcome, but especially with the Atron and Condor it's critical since one result is really good and the other result is nearly trash-item-worthy. - Three years old |

Its certainly sounds great, reading this and other blogs there seems to be a tsunami of new features coming to us all soon.
Reading this particular blog more closely I think that the stranglehold that most of the t2 bpo owners have on eve's market will not be broken whatsoever, I expect invention to use up lots of isk and skill time investements.
So to those expecting cheaper ships after revelations best not hold their breath.

Maybe I read it wrong but I'd like some clarification.
The BPC. If we buy a BPO, and make BPC's, we can use those BPC's in our inventing process?
We don't have to loot bpc's (this is where I believe I've misread).
Also. If we choose to now, could we start researching BPO's now in preparation for inventing BPC Tech II blueprints? Or will they be reset (recreated) and we'll have to just buy all new BPO's when kali/revelation releases?
---------------The Low Sec Issue------------- Gatecamps that kill all who pass with no remorse and in many cases, no possible way of retaliation, is not PVP. |

Other possibilities include Warp Disruptor/Scrambler 2s, Stasis web 2s, Heavy Nos 2s, CPR 2s, Nanofiber2s...
Although, I'm certain tech2 capacitor rechargers and HACs will drop a bit in price with this, too, which is good. :P

If 0.0 than the damn aliances still have control over t2 stuff
Otherwise great stuff sound svery fun and exciting.

Edited by: marioman on 28/09/2006 17:16:00 Sounds nice and all but this sounds way too overly complex and way too much work for a lousy bpc (especially considering its going to be a crappy quality BPC, ME -50 anyone?) when ppl dont have to do anything to get a bpo.
Also means any1 wanting to invent is goin to have to spend a couple months aquiring all the skills needed, and whats with needing all those parts?
Whatever happened to simple crap, stickin something in a slot and lettin it work for a week, and just have to pay out isk.
Are rigs going to be this tedious and time consuming??

"Another note on ships: Some tech I ships have more than 1 tech II equivalent (such as Rifter -> Wolf/Jaguar). Currently, if you use for instance a Rifter blueprint as the basis youÆll get either Wolf or Jaguar (randomly determined)."
So you want to build a Vagabond worth 280 mill and you end up with a Muninn worth 95 mill... hmm. This will not be appriciated.
By the way... the pictures for the blog is on staff.ccpgames.com, which seems very slow...

Sounds great, although I'll be very interested to see how the statistics pan out. Obviously you don't want to flood the galaxy with easily available T2 stuff but conversely you don't want to make the chance of getting a shiny exciting BPC vanishingly remote. A tricky balancing act.
Watching the prices of T2 stuff will be interesting. I'm assuming that there will be a lag phase when this comes in while people frantically scramble around to get data interfaces and the like. Then there will be data interfaces on escrow for huge amounts of money. And a rush on cruiser BPOs. Production will pick up and, with any luck, prices will drop a bit.

Dude, if you're trying to build a Vaga and getting a Muninn, I'd suggest you try again using a Stabber as the base hull instead of a Rupture.
Just a thought ;)

So, with the randomisation of incention, a few guesses:
Condor -> Raptor/Crow Heron -> Buzzard Kestrel -> Manticore Merlin -> Harpy/Hawk
Moa -> Eagle Caracal -> Cerberus Blackbird -> Falcon/Rook Osprey -> Basilisk
And so on...?
