I hate doing missions. I can't stand mining. I think that hauling is boring.
But.... I LOVE HUNTING PIRATES!
I've mined only once, back during the tutorial. I've never mined since. Then I did missions for just over a month, but realised all I'm doing is 'grinding', which is why I originally left World of Warcraft, so I stopped doing missions. I did some trading and hauling for a while, but it wasn't profitable enough to support my 'addiction' to hunting pirates.
Yes, I'm addicted to hunting pirates. I can't think of anything else I'd rather do! The only reason I'd trade and haul stuff was because I didn't have a warship to fly, and I needed to raise the money for it.
Today I have a new idea. Stick to anti-pirating, and nothing but. If the pirates can do it, I'm sure I can do it too, by doing it to them.
I'm going to detail my adventures on a blog, so that everyone can follow what I'm doing. I'll outline my ship setups, my tactics, my losses... and hopefully a few victories too. I'll fund myself from the proceeds I obtain from the pirates themselves. Some loot can go a long way. I hope...
Along the way I hope to find a few friends who'll help out here and there. Together we can make a difference and bring a little justice to this galaxy.
My blog will be listed in my bio, and as I update it, I'll also link to it from here. I hope some of you will join me in this fight, even if it's to watch what I do, where I go, and how I learn.
If you want to help me fight the good fight and you see me in your system, say hello, and maybe we can join up and patrol together. |

Cool!
I shouldn't wish you luck, but what the heck. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I dont think you will catch many pirates... most of them know what they are doing and wont get themselfs killed by a solo pirate hunter. :)

The sad but ture truth buddy, i'd recomend you form a gang with a few buddies and heading off to low sec with a combat?/force? (the one that cloaks) recon and an interdictor so you can catch those bounty heads! Beyond that, I wish ya much luck and I look forward to your exploits, if you figure out a system let me know!

Good luck with the pirate-whacking, and post the link to your blog when it's up.
Lots of pirates down Providence way, btw. _______

Thank you kindly for the well-wishing! I appreciate the thoughts.
As for being a solo hunter, I know how unlikely it is to gain much success from that avenue. Which is why, in the last line of my post, I said:
"If you want to help me fight the good fight and you see me in your system, say hello, and maybe we can join up and patrol together."
I hope to gang up with some of you, learn a few things, and kill a few pirates! Give me a wave if you see me, and maybe we can work together.
I've created the website here: http://blackclawtravels.blogspot.com/
I hope you find it interesting. Obviously, with the journey having only started today, there's very little there! However, there's a link to 'my main blog' which has some historical entries in Black Claw's life leading up to this point. It might keep you a little entertained as I begin the new chapter in Black Claw's life.
I'll provide updates in here (or links to the updates) as they're done.
Oh, and I think I might make my first target destination as New Eden... I've always wanted to see that place, so I'll start making my way to it. |

And don't advertise yourself as a pirate hunter. If you want a good chance of catching pirates out, you need to look like prey.

I used to be as idealistic, I soon realised thatone mans pirate was anothre mans freedom fighter, or something, it was just really about how you played the game.
It would be awesome if you became the first bonafied bounty hunter, it's a goal with less moral issuses and it's actually a good idea. (whether it is possible for it to work in practise is another thing but thats for you to find out). Hell beyond my previous words of advise, i'd suggest becoming a pirate yourself for a while, knowing how they think and fight usualy goes along way getting the PvP experiance you'll reqire to get anywhere outisde of an Alliance or corp.
BTW, some might consider me a pirate, but i've got a +5 sec status and no bounty head... however, if I found you in a low sec belt, alone...

Good luck and have fun with it. If I may offer a bit of advice. As was said earlier, try to keep an element of surprise to help you out. And as far as the following information:
Originally by: Black Claw ...so that everyone can follow what I'm doing. I'll outline my ship setups, my tactics, ...
I wouldn't recommend making public any of this information unless you plan on not using either the setup or tactic ever again. Otherwise you can build a setup specifically to counter another setup. You will have enough information to write about on the pirates you meet and the people that are there with you either helping or your helping them. _____________________________ ... this space for rent ... |

He's right.
E.G. - Cram a bunch of badger MK IIs full of e-war mods and name the ships 'n00b miner full of zydrine!!1!' or something preferably more subtle, and maybe have some cloaked damage dealers in the belt. Drop jetcans named 'omber 12:59' or whatever the time is.
Wait for pirates. Pick a busy pirate region and hopefully you won't have to wait long. |

I'm flattered that you would like a guy like me... thank you. Unfortunately for you - and anyone else that might like a guy like me - I'm taken.
I know, it's a crying shame. But I wanna tell ya, it's a nightmare to be a wanted man! The girls, the corps, the pirates...
I'm the CEO of the corp I'm a member of, and I love Black Scorpion Ltd. I won't be leaving it, but I will be promoting it. If anyone wants to join it, contact me.
But this isn't a recruitment campaign... nor is it an advertising campaign for me to join another corp. I'm just an ordinary pirate hunter (actually, probably LESS than ordinary!) doing an extraordinary thing - travelling the galaxy and writing about it.

I'd like to note that I've made another update to the blog. Here's an excerpt from it...
Originally by: Black Claw As I'm preparing to set out on my journey, my mind wanders back through the various experiences I've had, all of which have led me to today.
I remember the first time I got attacked by a pirate and podkilled.
I had just finished the tutorial and went on a mission. I didn't know the dangers of lowsec space then, and when I received the warning telling me I was entering dangerous territory, I ignored it. How dangerous could it be, right? I mean, it was only a jump or two from the 'beginners area'...
So when that rain of death fell upon my rookie frigate, I sat there, stunned. I didn't even know what was happening! There was a lot of noise, bright lights, and then... silence. My ship had changed shape, and looked like an egg. I didn't know what it was, so I sat there pondering it, trying to work out what had happened, and what was going on. Then there was more noise, another flash, and I reappeared back in the station....

And so it begins...
Originally by: Black Claw I finished preparing my ship, a Vexor. It was loaded with everything I thought I'd need, including extra ammo and some beef jerky. After double-checking it all, I then engaged the map and entered the co-ordinates for New Eden. The list of systems came up on the screen - all 33 of them. It would take me some time to do it, I was sure, but I was ready.
Some of my corp mates joined me at the Teonusude gate in Gelfiven (Molden Heath region) to see me off on my way. It was quite a touching moment, with Marshal Bonesinger, the corp's Director and acting Chief of Support, attacking me with her weapons, while repairing me with her repair drones. I wiped a tear from my eye as they looked back and forth between the drones providing constant repair, and the furious onslaught of the energy attacks. The show was indeed quite pretty.
Eventually it was time to move on. I activated the jump gate and went through.

And another entry....
Originally by: Black Claw Discovering the Amarr
Well, Amamake turned out to be completely uneventful! I spent half an hour crusing around the asteroid belts and planets, using myself as bait for all the pirates that were there in local, but none of them came out to play.
Bored, I continued on.
I reached Sarum Prime without incident, in the Domain region of Amarr space, and decided to stay overnight at the Imperial Academy School. Before I continued on the next day, I took a photo...

Please advise of how you'd like to be kept updated on new entries, thanks. |
