So, flying around Providence/Catch today I've found system after system with 1 - 4 noob corp members (mostly with Chinese names sadly) that are about 3 months (created the same day) old farming NPCs in Ravens. I managed to kill one (with 6 points of scram lol) and now they all safe and log when I come into local. Also a lot of them seem to have had a short stint in the corp 'HCIB Industrial'.
Anyone else witnessed anything like this?

I did once up in Venal area. Raven macroing, we all warp in and he is still engaging the spawn he even releases his drones to attack the rats.

i've heard similar stories about macroers/farmers around provie before although in this case they used to instantly safe then cloak so the couldn't be found

warpin, cloak. uncloak, recloak. target one, warp out, come back, target
macro broke somewhere and they were hanging there, silently being killed by rats (except their drones who did their jobs, because at least, ccp macros rock ! ) ------

Yes, old news, unfortunately.
They are already in Providence for several months. Some form corps, in summer one even managed to join a neighbor alliance for a few days ..

hmmmm, i wonder if they have good loot, think i may got check all the low sec plexes and go murder them all.
i have no idea to stop these macro peeps, there tying up all the complexes so peeps cant use them. just have to hope that ccp make something, like they do on forums, where a picture comes up with numbers, and you have to entre a code to get into the complexe. There are lots of Amarr alt haulers that come through U'K space. They haul the loot from these macro ratters and we kill alot of these haulers. You get lots of loot from them -----------

You will find a few systems like that in Great Wildlands, the same pilot in the same system for weeks when I used to pass thru there regularly. And the few pilots I did see all had one thing in common, all were at one point a member of Northern Intelligence once members of -V- This in no way incriminates that alliance as it actually commends them for getting rid of that element. I think the few of them that maybe left that corp formed a new one of the few NPC farmers. Havent been able to catch one yet, the moment I find their Ravens on scanner they tend to already be warping to a deep safespot. I have gotten one of those alt haulers though, interdicter bubbles ftw.

Yes. We seem to have an infestation in Tribute, as well. Some have Chinese-style names (with numbers at the end to distinguish one from the other), but they are not all named that way. The weird thing is that some are in noob corps, and some are in player corps and part of an alliance. They will have the same name (except for numbers) and one will be a noob corper and the other will be in an alliance.
We've killed many of them but they just come right back and most of the time, they will log a few seconds after you enter local. If you stay in system and they log back in, they will re-log while in warp...you never see them. If one does talk to you it is in barely comprehensible English. I had one seemlingly refer to torpedos as "thunderfish" after I popped their Badger Mk II carrying 30k juggernaut torps.
I have not noted them using warp core stabs (I've been able to tackle mine with 1x 20km scrammer), but perhaps they have adapted. I haven't gone hunting them in about a week or so.
For every one we manage to kill, ten of them get away by logging. They seem to have an endless supply of ships and come right back.

I fail to see the problem here, macroers doing this supply us with cheap modules to fit our cheap ships (cheap because we got macroers mining empire dry)...
Then again .. maybe it is only a problem because they now move into the turf of 0.0 and low sec guys stealing their milkcows (officerspawns).
Atleast that is what it looks like because everytime we bring up macro miners... it is no problem, because that means cheap ships. ---------------------------------------------- "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things." 1 cor. |

Macro¦ers or farmers? Yes, there is a difference. You dont care in 0.0 about it, but you should care in empire cuz petitions and such, not easy to kill etc...

Did you or anyone else expect they would stick to empire? Most probably do, but even with losses its probably still very profitable for them.

There's a whole bunch of those guys in GW, like someone pointed out. They tried to settle in around the Tenerifis-Detorid border at first but basically got spanked out, and moved to GW. Most of them former NOENT like someone pointed out. Have a funny tendency of doing stuff at very precise intervals , like if they logoffski they'll look back in at 4 mins +- few seconds.

It's full of them in venal. They are really getting on my nerves. Every time I log there are etleast 3 or 4 of them. Spamming local with things like "Hi" "We Chineesee" "Language barrier" and etc. After some time we started hunting them and and now they log immediately after someone shows in system. They are from ekliptika alliance btw.

As for those who are from Ekliptika.
We were warned by D2 that we had them, thoug the responsible leaders of that corp didnt see it in the first place. D2 gave names and so we were able to kick them out.
If anyone sees any people macro mining or whatever with an EKP ticker, then please tell us names. We are investigating this issue about macro miners of EKP in Venal. But these days macro miners are also smart enough not to use the same name anymore when creating characters
