Not everyone has a 500Mil + to blow on a single module.. have you ever flown a 1+Bil T2 ship with 1+ bil fitting not to mention implants, while doing PvP.. that's a rush ok.. cause once you lose it.. well you probably had a bottle of anti-depressants next to your desk
did you mention an I-Win button?
PS" try fitting 2 shield boosts and watch what happens to your cap... Armor reps x2? easily manageable..

Hey I got money to burn. If there was a small armor rep that I could run constantly on my Ishkur I'd go for it. Sadly there's no such mod.

Hmmm
Gistii (Gist items in general) are deadspace Angel drops. So it is Minmatar h4x ! The gistii small shield boosters drop also from the 3/10 Serpentis Complex ! So it is Gallente h4x also !
Tbh many deadspace items don't drop cause they aren't in the loot tables or there aren't any corresponding complexes for the game for them to drop. _____________________________

Ok I did the math and assuming Repair Systems skill at lvl5, that's a 4.5/sec small rep cycle.
With that in mind, a gisti-a shield boost equivalent for small armor rep would be the following:
29 activation cost 128hp repaired
The best we have now is Coreli-A (correct me if I'm wrong) 40 activation cost 104hp repaired
Damn $*&^! Caldari!

Why does this always come up? First, it wasn't really an anti-Caldari whine. Second, if everyone did that, the game would be boring. Third, if they would notice things to complain about, why not bring those things up, instead of telling people to respec their character?
I'm so sick of seeing "Just train Caldari then!" as if the answer to perceived race imbalance is to just take advantage of the imbalance, instead of fixing it.

An Enyo with a small rep II is as efficient as a Harpy with a small Gistii. That's the way it was last time I had duels between those 2 ships and that comes not only from the mod itself but from natural resistances, cap regeneration and whatnot.
At least, when using armor repairing, a small rep II is an effective module, while a small shield booster II is utterly useless.
Since prices for gistii boosters are out of whack, CCP could remove that (overpowered?) module out of the game and make the small shield booster II worth using.

QFT.
The stats are the small sb II are pretty sucky compared to the small rep II. Ditch the gisti and make the SBII actually usefull.

Armor resists can be made a lot higher on T1 armor tank ships, than T1 shield tank ships. Also, I think the resist holes in T2 armor tank ships are smaller than the holes in T2 shield tank ships.
So with armor better able to resist damage than shields, it stands to reason that the best armor repairers do not need to repair as many HP as the best shield boosters.

That may be true for the larger ships, but how many assault frigs and intys actually use mods to boost their resists?
As an example, my Ishkur has 3 lows: (1) small repII, (2) micro aux, (3) magstabII.

Yes but there's a tiny, negligible problem:
No Core-* reppers drop apart from BS items. And Corpum/Centum (Pith equivalents) only drop for cruisers and up.
Even normal pirate faction reppers (true sansha) are extremely rare for everything below BS.
For people who dont fly BSes, this is a little irritating, as there is a widely available small shield booster that has better HP/sec than medium rep II for less cap about 1/10th of the fittings. And then you can use a boost amp on top of it.
CCP have mentioned once or twice that they would "fix" this like they said they would "fix" 800mm rolled tungsten drops for example (TomB even shouted at me to remove the whine from my sig)... my diagnosis is that obviously the entire loot engine is broken, and they should just chuck it in the empty bree can skip outside of the CCP office and start over =p ----------------

Yes, a small armor rep II > small shield booster II in HP/s and cap/HP. Since frigates tend to need midslot tackling equipment, lowslots are generally more free for resistance mods as well.

I also like the disparity between pirate implants that boost shield and pirate implants that boost armor...
I mean yea, a little bit of HP is nice and all, but drastically increased boost amount, well, let's just say shield tankers definatly have the upper hand when it comes to their ability to blow ****loads of money on a nearly impossible to beat setup...

eh?
he was asking for some resemblance of balance between faction mods, which is definitely not as important as say balance of t2 weapons but it is still something that should be done!!
you think its ok that a pilot can fit 50% invols and 45% amps and insane PDU and get a tank many many times that of any armor tank? oh and dont bring price into this at all, they can rat for the mods and have it gained for free! and they have the OPTION of buying the mods no matter the price where armor tankers do not!
personally i say just nerf the gistii stuff down to the armor stuff level, and nerf the invols over 37.5% down to 37.5%. if need be nerf the current 37.5% ones to a lower grade! also turn crystal imp into a shield HP bonous not booster bonous!

Originally by: Black Scorpio PS" try fitting 2 shield boosts and watch what happens to your cap... Armor reps x2? easily manageable..
Small gist A-types have the hp/sec of a medium with a cap draw low enough they can be run full-duty relatively easily on t1 *frigates*.
Lets compare, shall we?
Coreli A-Type Small AR: 23.1 hp/sec, 8.8 cap/sec, 7MW, 4tf
Medium Armor Repairer II: 35.5hp/sec, 17.7 cap/sec, 173MW, 28tf
Gistii A-Type Small SB: 28.5hp/sec, 5.85 cap/sec, 2MW, 21tf
Medium Shield Booster II: 30 hp/sec, 18 cap/sec, 13MW, 58tf
...
See where thats going? T2 Armor reppers and shield boosters actually ahve virtually identical cap draw w. full skills. Your armor rep has better hp/sec, and is considerably harder to fit.
However, if you look at the best of the "cap-efficient" deadspace modules (gistii and coreli), not only does the shield booster have a much lower cap draw and much higher hp/sec, its also much easier to fit in both PG and tf, while the armor rep uses a whole 2tf less, and uses MORE MW.
And on top of that, the bloody thing doesent even drop. Ever.
I could live with the worse cap use and hp/sec and the fitting, because as everyone rightly points out mids are far more valuable than lows on frigs... if I only had the option of using the bloody modules =p
...
But now lets examine the situation on HACs/Commands:
Take your typical Dual rep or Booster + Amp tank:
2x Medium Armor Repairer II: 71.1 hp/sec, 35.5 cap/sec, 346MW, 56tf
2x Corelum A-Type Medium AR: 92.4 hp/sec, 35.5 cap/sec, 390MW, 46tf
Large Shield Booster II + Amp: 78 hp/sec, 36 cap/sec, 166MW, 165tf
Gist A-Type Large SB + Amp: 99.5 hp/sec, 27.5 cap/sec, 151MW, 135tf
uuuhhhhhh... so, 2 reps which dont even drop give me less wose hp/sec, and much worse cap/sec than a shield booster with a TECH 1 AMP.. and on top of that theyre harder to fit wher it hurts (powergrid), while the shield booster uses like 35% less cpu AND less grid?
Okay, like whatever. Not a problem, armor tanking has other advantages (free mids again)... but thats all smoke and no roast if the bloody things dont even drop =p
I'll say it again:
I dont want gist stuff nerfed.
I just want an equal playing field for us nutters who like to fly with pimp setups worth many times what the hull is worth, and happen to be suckers who fly armor-tanked frigs and cruisers.
Yes, we like to pimp our ships. Yes, we're arguably nuts. But we still want our shineys so we can compete with shield-tanking missile ****s! =P ----------------

My two corpmates who fly a Harpy and a Hawk both have one... and they don't cost over a billion, they're only like 100mil or so.
My only real problem with them is that you can run them forever without the need for nos/cap rechargers/cap boosters. Basically they can sit there and tank my Ishkur's tech2 drones + blasters constantly. Granted they get a bonus to thermal which gimps my blasters, but still... I'm outputting damn near 200dps and it can be easily tanked with a single gisti-a.
