With the help of the Aurora team leads and senior GM staff, we have investigated the leak, how it came about and how extensive the loss of time and effort and have a rough idea of how long it will take to recover. We have taken action against the primaries in this incident and will continue to monitor the situation.
I want to impress upon the community the severity of this incident. There were breaches of Non-Disclosure Agreements, the End User License Agreement and the Terms of Service. Lost man-hours number in the thousands and repair of the damage done will take even more time.
Due to CCP's non-disclosure and privacy policies, we will not reveal the names of those involved, nor the actions taken against them, so please do not ask.
It is unfortunate that actions need to be taken against players who feel the need to bend or outright break rules, contracts and/or agreements. On behalf of the Volunteer, GM and Dev teams, I apologize for the inconvenince and impact this will have on the Tetrimon event arc and those participating in it.

maaaaybe because if they -do- break it they break their own Non-Disclosure Agreement.. and can be sued for doing so... not really the smartest thing to do tbh. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Xaroth Brook Brainiac of Doomcraft Member of R I S E

Dogal, Neb...
I hope this unforgivable 'leak' is put in the past and the team recovers & moves in an even better direction. I'm sure you have a great staff of volunteers that'll make up for this leak 100 fold. Get writing people! =)
Thank you for all your teams hard work thus far. I'm sure we'll see plenty of great things to come.
PS... Any of you writers out there want to help them out please apply.. I've seen some very creative stories on the forums I'm sure your imagination would be put to use.

This is really terrible news, the Tetrimon arc has been very consuming for many of us for quite a long time, even if it mainly is a background thing its still vital to the overall story of the Empire imo. I'm glad it will be fixed, and waitings no problem, much more so status quo, and w/e ending happens it will still be great simply to have an end!

Good to know that the case has been solved, if we can call it like that. Eyes to the future, I hope the team recovers and I'm sure Aurora will do their best to provide us with an end nothing less than amazing.

that is sad, you can't even trust the people who you should trust.
Terrible waste of effort, glad to see you will finish it. may those who can not play in the sandbox be banished forever.
I applaud the RPers involved for all their effort so far, they have really jumped into this arc with both feet and really added interactivity to an already interesting plot line. Much Respect.

Wow, I thought I was up to speed for mostly everything Tetrimon as well and I didn't hear about a leak or even rumors. For me Tetrimon has always been about rumor and speculation so a leak for me would be consistent and fluid RP .
I certainly hope those involved are gone for good, it is a shame since there was (as with other fellow RP'ers) alot of history in this. This was my very first RP ever and the first grand master was my first green text I ever saw.
Even though it won't be the original ending, I hope we can get as many players involved and write our own new finale~ together as a community. \O/ _____________________________ ... this space for rent ... |

one wonders if the attack on tetrimon bases recently without any resistance at all was somehow related to the leak. Oh and Golan I love your sig and can't wait until I am good enough to defend the gallenten ideals with lasers and battleships ;)

I think those NPC attacks on the bases were CCP's way of writing the Tertrimon out of the story, so to speak.

CCP had nothing to do with that (except providing us with an awsome game to event in). The assault was all AURORA run, so is the rest of the arc.

Better screening next time ?
It sucks that you lost so much time on a event arc but tbh its a bit of aurora's own fault aswell. Volunteers are never ever really part of CCP staff and will therefore be less inclined to keep secrets. It's your job to filter out the best and the trustworthy or you could simply make these jobs payed and get people who never heard of eve before :) +=+=+=+=+=+=+ Win the crowd... |

There you have what really happened.

Wake up. Most events are leaked. This has been happening since the beginning of EVE. I have friends who are old members of the volunteer staffs and the leaks happen all the time.
Did you really think all of your event winners were random? No way. It's all rigged and setup. A small leak is a big prize in items and other reward. Events are a joke, the normal player doesn't win events, people who are or know staff do. Half your volunteers and even volunteer forum moderators abuse their powers for personal or friend benefit in gain, it's common practice. In the end it's all swept under the rug anyways.
For example:
This is how moderator volunteers make their corps immune to spies:
1. check forum accounts for warnings 2. compare warnings 3. if they are the exact same then it's the same account and it's a spy 4. rid your corp of that spy, you are now spy free through abuse of power
or.. look at the account names, are they similar? if so then its a spy.
The advantage is actually very big. One alliance being immune to spies while one is infested, all it takes is staff being in one alliance. They can purge the spies out of it.
That's only one example of how power is constantly abused.

They aren't theories and given the timing and scandals being uncovered I though I'd give my 2 words. If you feel you're wasting your time then you are free to do something else. I only first read this thread today as it along with other more or less recent threads have become a hot topic on various other forums.

They aren't theories...
They are until you produce solid proof.
Oh, and those 'scandals'? If you're on about the 'omgdevhax' thing again, that hasn't been proved either.

It sucks that his arc has been well, trashed/modified/whatever is going to happen to it. My problem is I have no idea what "it" i.e. the Tetrimon arc is!
What had happened in this arc is a complete mystery to me. That I have been playing for a year TODAY, saddens me to know that I have had my head in the stars and had not looked to see that they were winking at me... (aka something was going on and I was oblivious to it!)
Sad that the info got released, and the person/people should get the just punishment. Nuff said bout that.
Well I gotta go see what this Tetrimon is...

Elanna,
Several of the news stories in the last half-year have been related to the Cult of Tetrimon. Check out the player news centre.
It would seem to be an internal Amarr-only thing (well, Amarr and its satellites), but I could be slightly off in the regard as I haven't payed too much attention to it.
someday, after my learning skills training, I'll actually have the ability to shoot back :p |
