Lugh Crow-Slave wrote: and you can get as many of your allies to war dec your target as you want so you as well have unlimited allies
With each one being a completely separate war dec with a 24 hour grace period instead of 4 hours and each war dec could have separate allies. So although 20 corps can war dec a corp, the defender can have 30 corps join the dec against only one of those aggressing corps.
If you really think aggressors have unlimited allies anyways, then you'd have no issue with aggressors getting identical options for their own allies. Yes?

That's probably because the main people have wardeced you are based in Caldari space mainly, AND my Alliance has trashed one of those corps to a point where probably think your all bait. =P
Quote:In my experience Wardecs are essentially synonymous with "We want to hunt new players, for easy frags, without risking any of our own ****"
I've been in the Merc business my entire time in EVE. That's not the reason I stay in a Wardecing corp, nor is the reason most people stay. Surprisingly when you mass dec, you tend to find the corps that like to fight a lot easier. Don't get mad because your wardeced. If your being shoved around by somebody it's up to YOU to find a solution for it, and if you can't it's your own fault. Sorry.
Quote:I think in my 5 years of playing I have seen one actual War in HS, where people brawled....usually just small groups of folks looking to pad that KB.
Most Wardecers will take a fight, if you haven't seen this then it's because your not actually bringing a fight to them.
Quote:I say just remove it from the game, pretty useless mechanic. Make players instead pay fees to Concord if they want "protection" (which is a lie and is only repercussion any way.) This way everyone is engageable. Price for Concord is essentially Wardec price based on size of the corp...if you don't pay you don't get to see the 5-0 show up and blap fools.
Isn't that why NPC corps are around? 11%?
Quote:Because lets be honest, the only reason to wardec folks, is easy frags...we are all adults here no reason to lie to each other.
Again Energy Alliance dabbles in Wardecs. So are you saying the Alliance that is actively helping your Corp, Are a bunch of risk adverse twebs?
Like really. The amount of butt hurt is unreal. The fact that you think Merc only take easy kills is because the only you've given them are easy kills.

You mean besides the free allies? Or the part where they get 24 freaking hours of advance notice before being attacked? Or maybe the part where they can make it mutual if they're winning?
As a note to mutual war part. An Attacker can actually stop the war from being mutual in a 24-hour grace period after the mutual war has been declared. So even if the attacker is being trashed and the defended call Mutual. The attack has the option to end the war before it becomes permanent.

I don't think this is the main reason why more so to avoid you never having to deal with concord again I suspect your idea here is a part of it. In general timers in game with regards to destruction of things have been about a crude way of trying to balance the time zone issues.
One example of this time zone problem can be seen in Planetside 2. One time zone logs in and takes large areas of territory, only to loose it a few hours later when they log off and another time zone reaches it's peak play time. This constant change over of territorial control in Planterside is not a big deal as there is no in game currency lost when you loose a territory and there are no structures that you have to buy that can be lost. In EvE where there can be significant in game currency required to purchase these structures giving time for all players in all time zones a chance to determine how to protect or remove these assets is with out doubt a primary goal of the timers. |

aye but another big issue with this would be
i see pilot X in a freighter now all i need to do is keep him bumped till i get my CEO to war dec his corp and just pop his ship with no lose to myself
now he is down 5 bill just because he wanted to join a corp rather than stay in an NPC one

I know, but mutual is still an option the attacker does not have.
The defender gets all the mechanical advantages during a wardec, the actual war mechanic favors them immensely.
The attacker has a meta advantage, and that's it.

Why should the attacker have the option for a mutual war? How would that even make sense? The attacker starts a war asked asks the defenders whether they want a mutual war or not? What if the defender does not answer? If it declines?

Didn't say it would. I said that the defender has every option available to the attacker and then some. The war mechanic gives much more advantages to the defender.

Which is usually necessary to compete with the meta and organizational advantages conferred by being the deccing corp, as unless the dec corp is unusually stupid, they can pick on industrial corps who may or may not have PVP friends.
A corp designed for deccing or which has experience decing folks is almost certain to have PVP ships on hand which are appropriate to the majority of fights in HS, i.e. instalock and/or brick tank, appropriately camoflaged OGBs, etc. Unless you find a moderately unusual highsec corp, none of these resource or organizational assets can be even close to matched, and so having 24 hours to get PVP ships, mods, etc. if one is interested in fighting, or to try to find help if they aren't is fairly reasonable.

This is the part where I ask "why is anyone choosing to be defenseless in a PvP game?"

What I want is for the "unusual" highsec to become to usual highsec corp.
The others should be destroyed, they are bad for the game.
