Hmm, just patched up my client and have now got:
Unable to install or locate required version of D3DX, Click yes to continue, but the application may not run.
At which point "The application ahs failed to start because D3dx9_30.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Guess a DirectX update is in order: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx

anybody getting direct x errors needs to download the direct x runtimes library, its knocking about on microsoft somewhere, an awful lot of new games now require these runtimes

i think they rolled back but i seem to be working fine on the new build as well

I got DirectX 9.0c and it still won't run.
