I've been gone on vacation for the last week. I just logged on and there's no redemption offer for the CA-1. Did CCP only run it for a few days? Or am I missing something? |

I believe the offer expired on December 2nd.
I'm pretty sure there's another implant giveaway planned soon though. (A different one.) |

It expired yesterday.
They extended the end of the redemption period from 2nd of December to 5th of December.
There's also only supposed to be just two of them in the set, not 6 (=5+1) like all the other implant sets.
The second one should start being distributed some time later this month, allegedly.

Whatever don't offer me anymore BS CCP if you are just going to take it away instead of doing the right thing of stacking it. Spend your time doing somthing better AKA fixing AFK cloaking. |

Oh dear, it looks like I had the same thing happen to me.
I thought all we needed to do was log in, which I did on both accounts. I didn't know the gifts would vanish even if we'd been playing. I just found out because I've been listening to the latest episode of the Notalotofnews hour show, and they said the gifts disappear. So, it looks like I'm too late.
I've gotten gifts in a similar way in other games, but they don't go away. It was my plan to just let them accumulate like prezzies in a Christmas stocking. Unfortunately, it's dangerous to bring preconceptions to Eve from other games. :o One down, I won't miss the others!
I'd prefer a mechanism where the gift auto-redeems when the character logs in. This would be more sensible I think. It was afterall, based on logging in.

With that mechanic a gift could spawn inside your ship, does it have the space or in the middle of 0.0 because you logged because of GF Aggro or Bio. Perhaps in a character all the way in minmatar space in a far flung station, when you are more of a Amarr who spends his time mostly in Tash-Murkon.
The point of the redeem button (its quite clearly marked) is the fact that you can claim your prize on the character you want where you want so you can put yourself out of harms way.

Yes I understand. Nonetheless, it's the first time I've had a gift and had it disappear with what felt like zero warning. I didn't see a countdown timer or notification that it would vanish, and I didn't hear about the timer ingame either.
Gifts do not need to spawn in a ship, just in a hisec station where the character is bound.
This redemption mechanic did put the implant in harm's way. Either way, logging in to play during that period did not secure my implant.
Pixxie is too blond for the fine print lol  Lately I specialize in crazy mistakes, so this can go up on my wall with the others.  I better read forums more in future!

If you'd looked at the item redemption window you would have seen the timer. I know, because that's how I learned of it. I'm known to leave my gifts in there for ages. |
