Just because you don't understand how doesn't make them stupid. Maybe they actually understand something that you don't.
Maybe they actually understand something I don't? Could you try to be a little more self-serving in your posts? I'm not quite totally sick of reading about how cool you are.
I hate to burst your elitist bubble but there's jack **** you understand about high risk PVP that I haven't been dealing with for a decade or more, I hardly need you to school me about how risking things can be fun.
Diablo II? Are you kidding me? Diablo II is a ******* joke in the world of PvP. That you even mentioned it in this discussion is proof enough your talking out of your ass.
There was a mode on the game I used to play that let you gain power 50% faster but deleted your character if you died. Every veteran player in the game would laugh and ridicule players who started <Hardcore> because they knew their day would come. They would arrive, play for months talking **** about how fast they were passing everyone up and getting uber powerful, die, and quit the game in frustration at realizing how many hours they simply tossed down the toilet. It too was about a big reward, and bragging rights; and guess who was on the losing end every single time without fail? The morons who got greedy and couldn't resist the lure of the prizes without considering any long term consequences.
Risk is what makes PvP fun; but people who use their brains in deciding what to risk, when, where and with whom are the ones who come out on top. I wouldn't hesitate to laugh in the face of anyone who would participate in this kind of a competition just to see the last 6 months of their gaming flushed.
Veruna, why bother with Jash anymore? You know he is going to turn around and twist this post like he twisted mine. It's almost a waste of time really. This is just going to drag for pages with no end.

I would not call the concord battleships battleships. They are the best Far-out-mining ships. With a cargospace of 14000m3 you can mine a lot of bistot. And do not forget you can increase that cargoroom with mods. Never seen a greater cargospace.

Concord would be looking for the bravest and best pilot in the universe. To prove the bravest, enter a combat tourney with no clone. To prove the best, come out on top.
so would we also get the CONCORD instawarp autolock magigank?

You know I am utterly sick of you. This thread was going fine until you brought your sterling contribution into it with:
Quote:
I find it highly doubtful you would gain any respect by being known as the guy who dumped 5M+ skillpoints down the drain just for the chance at a little glory or a BP; lots of people would be laughing very hard.
And now you want to climb on a high horse and try to lecture me?
If you're of the opinion you wouldn't want to participate, fine. That's ALL you had to say. But you had to take it a step further. I don't give Bad Harlequin much credit for anything. But I can give him the credit of answering the question at face value and leaving the rest at the door.
Why don't you take that little ego of yours and go do what you do best: Mine where there's someone bigger to protect you.
You're not equipped to do anything else. Not mentally, not physically. Mining is just perfect for someone with no clue and no vertebrae.

Please forgive me for spoiling yet another "Jash is cool because..." thread. I suppose a thread is "going fine" as long as everyone in it agrees with you, and those that don't either don't post or keep it short and simple.
Maybe if everyone of your threads wasn't a glorified soap box for you to stand on and espouse the glory that is your play style and how everyone else is too stupid to enjoy the game quite like you do, I wouldn't feel so compelled to argue. Your egocentric attitudes about how people "should" play the game never cease to amaze me.
You're like a delluded little teenager, as soon as someone disagrees with you or offers a different opinion it's because they "just don't understand you."

I love it, accuses me of having an ego, and in the next paragraph says I play the game like I do because I'm not mentally and physically able to play it like him. Who is on a high horse here?
You really need to take some time to get over yourself, dude. If I wanted to do what you did, I would. I don't because I don't want to. I know this will be an impossible concept to allow into your fantasy world where you belong to some elite clique of EVE players who are extra smart and super brave and having soo much more fun than everyone else, but it's the simple sad truth. The only thing that seperates you from the thousands of other people who play exactly like you is that they don't insist on acting like it's the "one true way" and posting on the boards about how they're king hugecock of uberfantastico.

FGS shut up veruna
as far as i have seen on these forums u exist purely to argue and bait - especially with jash
i dont agree with him on most things but he posts stuff like this to get people thinking and he does it in a reasonable and civil manner
then along comes the wee runt veruna - yelping and yapping - turning every-gawdam-thread u post in into character assassinations and flame-a-thons while spouting forth your overly opinionated doctrine
can u, just once ffs, accept people play and view the game differently from you? _______________________

Befuddling.
The whole point to my frustration with Jash is that he refuses to accept that others view and play the game differently than he, or didn't you bother to actually read my posts before writing this?
You're right, it did start out as an interesting thread, until Jash decided to point out how much cooler the people who agree with him are:
Quote: The people that say "Yes" have 2 things over those who laugh, things that those who laugh will never have:
1) The understanding that this is a game.
2) The freedom to have fun because of #1.
Notice how he says "the people that say 'yes'," also known as "the people who agree with me" or play the game the way I do. For Jash it can't be just a matter of choice, it has to be about the fact that he has something everyone else doesn't, and he's smarter, and "understands" the game better.
So, in short, no I won't shut up. I'm sick of hearing about how everyone who doesn't play like Jash is too stupid and weak for EVE, and every time it comes up I will post to point out what a narrow minded ***** he is.

Yes, Veruna. In response to you stating:
Quote:

Those people that laugh are far more likely to cry over a loss than anyone that entered such a competition. Nothing about how people play the game. Just about how seriously people take it.
Some people enjoy getting to the destination and some enjoy making the journey. The ones that enjoy the journey would enter a competition like that.

yes i have...
its u that starts the bi tching and its u that continues it
u cant disagree in a civil manner - u keep prodding away at it till there is an open sore which u then enjoy pouring salt in
people post ideas and thoughts - yes they are slanted to they way they play the game and yes people are free to disagree
but u exist just to cause friction
admittedly u r good at it - but by fu(k - it doesnt mean u should _______________________
