Myrmidon PVP setup
just bought one yesterday, this is how i fitted it...
High slot: 5* 200mm T2, 1* Small named Nos (E5)
Med slot:1*10AB T2, 1*named scrambler, 1*Sensor Booster T2, 1*Drone navigation, 1* Named Cap booster (800 charges)
Low slot: 2*med repairer T2, 1*named control damage, 1*EANM T2, 1* Explo Hardner T2, 1*MFS T2
Drone Bay: 10 valkyrie T2, 5 hobgoblin T2
I wanted to fit a drone link augmentor in High instead of the small nos but i was short in cpu. Anyway i believe it is not a bad setup but i also didn't manage to try it on the server test so i might be mistaken somewhere..))

i have been messing with it the last half hour and tbh cnt figure a decent set up yet, iwas going with 250 t2, drone aug, and sensor damps in mids but tbh i am still messing not sure if range or blaster, I am still working on it trying to think outside the box as per usual but your set up in my humble opinion sounds ok

You know you dont have to use hybrid wepons on this ship, infact its easyer to fit projectiles for more range and bigger tank ie, plate.
I like having around 8k armour...

Medium AC's have very relaxed fitting requirements compared to blasters, and quite higher range - if you consider falloff. Try 1600mm plate + dual 180's + med nos + MWD. Played with a similar setup on the test server but i can't remember in detail all of it. Also, in Revelations passive tank is more important then active tank ... personally i wouldn't go with a dual repper setup, even with the bonus of 7.5% / level to efficiency. -----

Ahem! My pvp setup is as follows.. 6 medium nos t2 ab web/scram Whatever you want in the other two mediums, damps, ecm, cap stuff, drone things.. 2 MAR II 3 Active hardeners 1 Damage control 5 Ogres T2 For rigs, I'd advise tanking rigs, specifically the repper time/repper boost ones.
I tried to fight a shark with a pistol underwater once, and I'll be ****ed if he didn't laugh at me and eat me. Sharks need a ******* nerf. True story.

As you can see i am not aware of the full names, they are lsot in thought but they work well :)
Setup works good, i have tried it on the test server plenty of times. There is no point in using guns on the myrmidon really, it gets absolutely no bonus's to them. Best bet is to make a nos boat out of it.
The target painter really helps against frigs even cruiser, small difference is amde with larger ships but its still there. As far as the tracking distruptor goes, everyone should know how good a tracking distruptor works :).

Ok i've seen at least 2 full nos setups on here with a ab. medium nos is very short range so should always be fit with an mwd in my opinion. i used on the test server
4 ions, 2 medium nos
mwd, 20km scram, web, medium injector, eccm
2 x medium rep II, energised reactive II, eanm II, dmg control, mag stab II,
does nice dps with ogre II's but this ship should be very versatile so many different setups will be good on here

6 ion II 10mn mwd, web, scramble, sensor booster, cap injector (800) 3 hardeners, 2 armor rep II, rcu 5 heavy drones
Simple
<EDIT> Just fyi - This setup took on my corpies sleipnir - and that thing can solo BS. Not sure if the Myrmidon could, but i think it could fair pretty well if it had the close range advantage

Highs 4 425 ACs, 2 Med nos Meds AB, 2 webs, scrammer, injector mebbe? Lows Dual T2 med reppers, 2 Active hardeners(therm, kin), 2 EAN II
Without the cap use from guns, its a lot easier to use the reppers. Probably a bit less dmg then with blasters, but they aren't meant to be your main dmg source anyway. Both reppers can run for quite a long time. ________________________________________ <("<) <('')> (>")>

Didn't have any rigs and i went toe to toe with a handfull of ships and it did alright. Was close enough to scoop drones if they were targets but i get the feeling with heavies people will make a determined effort to pop them. As i said i think NOS may > anything these days.

Well, heres my Myrm Setup. Im not completely sure of what to put in the last Mid slot so any ideas would be helpful.
Highs: 6x Med Ion II's
Mids: 1x 10MN AB II 1x 90% web 1x 20km Scrambler 1x Med Electrochem Cap booster (800's) 1x (?)
Lows: 2x MAR II's 2x EANM II's 1x IFFA I 1x Armor Explosive Hardener II
Drones: 3x Ogres 2x 'Zerkers
--------------------------------------------------
Now for that last Mid slot, I was thinking maybe: -a Sensor Damp -an ECCM mod -a Sensor booster -a Cap recharger (so I dont have to rely on the cap booster as much. I want the charges to be used for anti-Nos, and as a little boost when I need them, not to keep the ship running.)
Any Ideas / feedback would be appreicated

ROFL at people listing what rigs you should use =D That would increase the ship cost by about 1-2 billion easy with the way salvage is ATM. It's like listing a setup and saying "this is great if you have a high-grade crystal set". ----

I took on a corp mates drake in a 5 med 1 small nos set up. He couldnt break my tank and i would have beaten him in the end but had he targeted my drones i think i could have been in trouble as i was using 5 heavys so re thinking about using meds instead he ran out of cap pretty quick and was a nice set up only ever really used one rep most of the time.

Edited by: Galen Silas on 07/12/2006 14:01:24 Many of us have NOS setups because we want to win when we get into a fight and it works, and there isn't much point in using blasters when you get no bonus's for em. It doesn't really tie you down to blasters which can be a good thing, if your gonna fit guns, fit AC's they dont take cap.
Point is NOS works and it may be a "cookie cutter" setup but as far as i have experienced it's a good one and i go into a fight to win.

That maybe so and I dont really care if people use the "cookie cutter" setup. But personally I find the best part of this game is coming up with my own setups and seeing how well they work. Ya some fail but then some work great and its a good feeling. And besides, if everyone does use 6 nos well then I just know what to expect.

Im using it for small gang PvP. If I wanted to do solo, Id find a way to get a MWD on for sure. If worse comes to worse, I can drop the Explosive hardener for a PDS or something, which will give more than enough grid for a MWD, But I feel fitting mods are a waste of a low slot.
And Yup, its 1175, I just checked my in-game hangar (currently as of 12/7)

This set-up works well:
Hi: 4x Medium NOS (Best Named or T2) 2x T2 Light Neutron Blasters w/Void S
Med: 1x T2 10MN AB 1x 20KM Warp Srcam 2x Medium Cap Boosters w/800 1x Web or Tracking Disruptor or Damp (Whatever You Prefer) Best Named or T2)
Low: 1x Damage Control (Best Named or T2) 3x Armor Hardners (Ken/Therm/Exp) Best named or T2) 2x T2 Medium Armor Rep's.
Drones: 5x Heavy Combat Drones (T2 Works really nice).
The small turrets for removing drones with the help of the web & to threaten frig hull'd ships. - And then to deal extra damage to your main target. AB will get you in NOS'ing range eventually, (With the help of a Faction Web :P), untill then the cap boosters can help you with your tank that can pretty much hold anything back depending on your skills. ('Dmg Type' Armor Compensation, For example).
T2 heavy Drones will deal out the damage and as long as you keep an eye on them and keep cycling the scoop and engage target method, you can pretty much take on and kill BattleShips in this.

Edited by: Rihannah on 28/12/2006 17:14:14 My advice to everyone using heavy drones.
Use the drones liek this
3 heavy drones (75m3) 5 medium drones (50m3) = (125m3)
Which means you have 3 spare medium drones for when your drones start getting bbq'd. also you can just send out your 5 medium drones against smaller ships.
or play about with it - but i personally would never carry just 5 drones if they were my only source of damage.
Everytime one drone gets popped your dps will go down drastically. However there are clever ways to recall your drones etc but they dont always work.

Here's a decent PvP setup for the Myrm:
HI: Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II Dual 180mm AutoCannon II
I'd go with autocannons since the Myrm does not have bonuses for any particular turrets. These weapons drain no cap which is a big bonus, and have a much greater effective range than blasters offering flexibility. Flexibility = good.
MED: Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive (MWD required for closing range asap) Medium Cap Booster w/ 800 X5 Web 20Km Warp Scrambler Empty Slot - free for whatever you prefer.
LOW: Medium Armor Repairer II x 2 3 Harderners (Exp, Kin, Ther) 1 Damage Control
This setup fits with engie 5, and doesn't require very high weapon upgrade or adv wep upgrade skills. If you have those, you can squeeze in extra juice by changing the template some.
Drones: 4 x Heavy, 5 x Warrior T2 You basically can release 4 heavy and 1 light to fight cruisers and above. It's around the effectiveness of ~4.25 Heavies in dps, which is still plenty. But the 5 Light T2 drones will allow you to destroy frigs with ease.
It's a flexible setup. With decent NOS ability but also nice range on turrets that do decent dps without using cap.

hey guys,
was just tinkering around in quickfit and came up with this:
high: 6x Medium nos (change round to diminishing or whatever takes your fancy)
med: AB II Warp distruptor Tracking Distruptor 2x Stasis webbies
low: 1x RCU MAR 3x active hardners ( therm, kinetic,explosive) 1x EANM
10x hammmerhead II 5X Hobogoblin II
(change drones for whatever you prefer) am running the cap simulation now, and its staying at around 75% for last 20mins. The idea is to get in close (couldnt fit the MWD, but im sure with some work i could fit it) web, disrupt and scram them. Suck the cap out of them and blast them to high heaven with the drones :D
anyone got any thoughts if this is a half decent setup please tell me, thou keep the flames to a minimum lol

Imo to tank this ship pretty well u have to use in low and rigs:
2 ENAM II 1 DMG control II 2 MAR II 1 EXPLO II
rigs: 1 aux nano pump 1 term res 1 kin res
res r like 78-77-74-74
not bad if u think u can run 2 reppers pretty well with 4 nosses and 1 medium cap recharger, and those MAR rep for 508 each every 9 secs.
Usually i fly with med drones t2 (12) but if u r cleavcer and use sens dampener II and fly at contact with your enemy u can use 5 ogreII and be rdy to recall em all!
Dont fight drakes or feroxes cleaver pilot or they dual shoot your drones!

2 * Repair AMount Rigs 1 * Repair duration rig
5 * T2 Ogre's
Only odd thing about my setup is the sensor booster and ECCM, I have tested against my corp mate in a scorpion with dampeners and multispecs.
With the ECCM I was only jammed on 3 cycles out of about 20 or more, the sensor booster lets me lock quicker and at range.
BTW this is not a solo boat, you can drop the sensor booster for a web if you like, but i'll have other people to web.

Is it possible to use just normal medium nos instead of Diminishing which at the moment costs around 14mil EACH in jita...My myrm is my pvp ship but i dont want a myrm that costs me 150mil to loose...The only setup that works well is 2x med diminishing nos and 4x heavy electron blaster II's but it cost to much...So my question is are 4 t2 electrons worth the money for the DPS?

hi: 3 t2 heavey neutrons and 1 t2 heavey ion,2 small named nos
meds: named 10mn mwd, 20k scram, web, sensor booster, named cap booster with 800's
lows: 2 t2 med armour reps, 1 best named dam con, 3 active hardners t2 or best named
drones: 5 t2 ogers
rigs: i use three armour pumps( increased armour rep amount) with bc5 i rep over 1200 every 8-9 seconds i think of the top of my head
its a slow as feck set up thats why i use the mwd to close the range but it tanks like a mofo
i solo'd 2 ac tempests with this set up (not sure of their skill but still i owned) and i find no proble killing any bc's i come across. only problem i come across is if they have frig suppot coz they tend to kill my drones and my dps drop's dramaticly, but if ur with a gang or small group this set up should rock.
any advice on tweaking this set up would be nice :)

holy cow this ship is too good to be true. I started training for it today, I have a feeling by the time I'm ready to fly it it will be nerfed. Currently I am a caldari rail pilot and have ogod skills with hybrids. Drone skills are on the low side, but even with my crap drone skills this ship outdamage most of my ships easily. Just gotta get the armor tanking skills up and i'm in the thing lols! Can't wait for my i-win
I was trying out some fits with it, and the power grid is FREAKING AMAZING! I was able to fit a dual rep, dual injected tank witha full rack of medium electron blasters. Needless to say I was shocked.

If you don't have drone skills at least medium to good, i would advise against getting in one Myrmidon. The ship may be versatile on the fittings (it is and there are many set ups that work) but the main damage output is always the drones. If you have mediocre skills in that tree you won't manage to get good damage or efficiency.

Any setup that has just nos and drones - is BONED from the get go since once the drones are dead the ship is dead also and since it is not the fastest boat in any fleet - most can stay out of nos range of a myrmidon It's just a game........Or is it?????

Agreed, thats why I am training the skills before I board it. Im not that far off.
Well I have drone interfacing four and can use heavy drones. Can't use t2 though. WIth that said, the myrmidon with my crap drone skills outdamages the ferox i used to fly with t2 rails without breaking a sweat. It also does this with a dual rep tank, and dual injected tank! Kinda funny I'm better off with mediocre skills in the myrmidon then the ship i spent months training for Oh well, this is why I have decided to switch races.

I will tell you from experience and from what i lost.
If you want to pvp then y ou will need the following. Use the advantage of the weakest resistance which will mean useing medium drones. Think tactically and not like sardine or continue to learn the hard way.
Here is as follows.
Em damage drones for your shield *****ers and Explosive medium drones for yoru armor.
Second you need a little conficdence, i know some alliance m8t's that have they're heart stomping when a hostile comes attacking them.
Highs, either 3 tech II ions or 250's and 2 energy neutralizers, and nos.
Medium MWD or AF with 2 webs and scrambler and battery. Ul need the extra cargo space for amo if your gonna use it.
Lows 1 med rp tech II 4 nano adaptive membranes Tech II if possible. and one passive explosive.
rigs use 2 nano accelerators and 1 nano accelerator
Variation 2
high 1 deminishing and 2 nos
medium ab or mwd with 2 webbers and 1 s crambler and 1 large peroxide
lows same as befor but with a diagnostic system becuase you will be useing a 1600 plate. with the 3 nano adapters.
rigs 1 exploseive armor hardener and 1 nano accelerator and 1 armor repair thingy.
If i am correct.
and the same type of drones.
Remember this, not every situation is the same and you wont always walk away with our ship, experience and luck dictate that.

ok .. i'm still quite noob so maybe my ideas are not perfect but some of the suggested fittings are quite bad imho:
1) rails vs blaster: If u are soloing the baster + mwd are quite better as the rails + AB conterpart .. u still need to be close to web and to nos your opponent so i see no point to use long range weapons and be slow. maybe in gang if u have tacklers with u ( just meybe) but still i see not the point... myrm is probably the worst sniper bc in game .. should not be used at long distance. If u wanna use rails there are better ships ...
2) BUT, why usind hybrids at all? u have no dammage bomus on rails ... so use projectiles ( realy ... it's not long to train small & medium projectiles skill). they are easier to fitt, dont use cap and u can change dammage type ... i would chose autocannon any day, but maybe it's just me .... ( ok, if u have blaster spec 5, u will swick to autocannons only once u are well trained to projectiles, but this is true only for very well trained people. noobs will cover the gap in few hours of training ....)
3) why the hell people post dothing like this?:
2x mar, 3x hardener, 1x rolled thunghsten.
USE A DAMMAGE CONTROLL !!!!!!!!
It will give u +60% resistance in hull!!! ( and +15% in armour NON STACKED!!! ) your hit points is equal and maybe better as with the plate but with very, very, very lesser fitting requirements!! If u realy want a plate , use it. It's a good module but use 1 plate AND 1 dc, not istead.
4) 6x nos or not 6x nos ? ist proved that is effective, but many people dont like them , so they fit at least parts of hy slots
imho the perfect setup is sotheng like:
LOW: 2x mar, 2x EAM2, 1x DC, 1x plate ( if fit) MED: 1x mwd, 1x web, 1x scrambler, 1x Cap booster( with 800), 1x at your choise ( tracking distruptors, sensor boosters, ecp boosters, another web or scramblers are good choises imho) hi: mixed nos and autocannons ( as your choise.. dephending on what u think about nosses )
Again, im still noob and my skill are still not enough to fitt all this, but this setup is where i'm training for.

Originally by: Rihannah Edited by: Rihannah on 28/12/2006 17:14:14 My advice to everyone using heavy drones.
Well for pvp I use 5 heavy ogres. For missions when I am fighting many small npc I use 4 heavy/5 light. T2 light drones with Myr's bonus tear up smaller then BC size ships. The small ships I face PVP can usually outrun even light drones, and if smart stay out of web range, so I go for most dmg to the larger ships. If you really want to use the double webs, I'd recommend that you drop the tracking disruptor for a medium injector. I find it very difficult to sustain the double rep tank without one, it's impossible if you're up against someone else with nos. Well here's my setup:
High: 4x medium nos, 2x small neut Med: 10mn mwd, webifier, 20km scram, med injector, relevant ew low: 2x medium armour rep, dcu, explosive, thermal and kinetic active hardeners.
Drones: 4x ogre, 5x warrior
Of course try to use tech II if you can, there's enough powergrid and cpu with decent fittings skills to have an entirely tech II setup.
For the ew slot i leave it open for what i plan to be doing. If I'm going solo, a sensor dampener is useful as if your opponent is targeting your drones, as you can scoop em all up and send em back out again and it'll take em ages to re-lock. if in a gang, tracking disruptor, gate camp sensor booster, etc.

Heres a good setup:
Highs:
3x medium diminishing power drain I 3x 125mm II
Mids: 1x 10mn MWD II 1x X5 stasis web 1x T2 warp disruptor 2x phased muon sensor damp
Lows: 1600mm plate armor explosive hardener II EANM II x 2 Damage control II Medium armor Repairer II
5x Ogre II OR 4x Ogre II/5x warrior II
Decent DPS but really the DPS doesn't matter because you'll suck their cap completely dry until they can no longer run a tank. Just stay away from drakes.
Can easily low sec pirate with the huge armor hp buffer, and the ship goes around 1035m/s which is good enough until you get in range and web them. Ship can sustain ALL modules except MARII forever at 60% cap. Once you turn on the MARII you still get a good minute or so of boosting before you cap out.
IMO this is one of the best solo setups you can get, although you may want to replace the sensor damps for your ewar of choice (sensor booster, another warp disruptor, ecm, whatever, my skills all happen to be maxed for sensor damps). You get a huge tank, and plenty of gank and, sad as it is, nos is the win-all. Plus, if you use the 4x ogre 5x warrior you can easily woop up on interceptors as well.

Instead of 4 med nos 2 small neut setups using 1 med named neut 3 med nos 2 small nos results in better capacitor efficiency on your side and capacitor pwnage on the enemy side
High: 1 Med Unstable Power Fluctuator, 2 Med Nos II, 1 Med Nos I, 2 Small Nos II Med: 1 MWD, 1 Web, 1 20k Scram, 1 Med Cap Booster, 1 Sensor Booster(or another web or tracking distruptor) Low: 2 MAR 3 Hardener 1 DC

With 2x Ogre & 3x Hammerheads, this baby gives me a DPS of 331. The cap is the weak point with only 39 seconds to spare (57 seconds without the MWD), I really rely on my support ships! The tank takes 159 DPS and a topspeed of 345m/s.
The resists are around 50% Kin/exp, 65% for Therm/EM.
I might try some of these changes: Switch MWD for an AB (gives longer cap). Take out one gun to put in a Medium NOS, but that would mean taking out the 1600mm and putting a 800mm instead. I am training for T2 drones currently, so that will improve the DPS quite a lot. --- Compare items ? Image 1 - Image 2 Thanks to Daetusk. |
