I was think about EVE handing out rewards for players who get up to 100 million skill points and 200 million. It was just a thought and i figured you could get a gold skin cruiser at 100 and a gold skin BS at 200. I thought it would be a nice thing to add a little bit of interest to the game. Almost like flavor text i guess.
Although im not sure if you get anything for it now. I only have 46 mil myself. I would love to hear some other constructive thoughts on this idea. |

No.

You know I used to think that us vets should get something special, but the longer I think about it the less I agree with it now. Having played a great game for all these years, sticking around and enjoying it is really its own reward. The type of people that need gold watches from a job as a kick back after 20 years are in the wrong job imo.

Not a lot of 100-200M characters around that haven't been through a least a couple of owners. So what you are actually suggesting is rewarding people for buying the most PLEX from CCP. A two hundred million skill point character is a lot of PLEX to purchase.
So, I'm going to say no to that whole idea.

As if it would take such a HUGE amount of work to create a special medal or something like that .
That said , the reward you get for playing eve X years -in my case 11- is that you can have enjoyed a verry special online experience wich should be a suffficient reward by itself.
If you think that in itself isn't a reward enough then wtf are you still doing here?

But anyway, it doesn't have to be eternity. A year or so of the deliciously silky words then parole. They won't be bitter anymore, might even be a bit cheerful - possibly even grateful (for a change). Insane obviously, but they were to start with. Ralph King-Griffin wrote:I'm inclined to agree, barring the odd momentary lapses in anything even remotely resembling common sense (I'm looking at you tooltips). The tooltips debacle had some real roots. CCP should be able to filter out the noise to get to issues like that and resolve them. Same with the launcher, icons, ingame map, SKINs. These are real technical issues affecting a broad spectrum of the playerbase, and frankly I'm a bit disappointed with the CSM for not making a visible effort to demonstrate they are aware of player problems and working with CCP to address them. Apologies to them if they have been doing something, but I haven't seen it. The big stuff like jump fatigue and sovchanges look like the things to monitor, but actually the day-to-day small stuff is more niggly and will probably cause massive long-term resentment if left to fester. It makes me wonder if the departments who deal with these have the appropriate relationship with the CSM or the playerbase to evaluate player feedback, because something is off.
But anyway I thought of another variation on rewarding vets. Other than the medal, letter from CCP and all the other mildly boring suggestions. Balls to that, ask for the outrageous then you might get the mediocre, but don't start off by politely requesting something crap. It's called 'haggling' not being an 'entitled' prat, and it's fun for anyone in the spirit.
How about 'Escape from the Bitter Hub'. People can sign up to do it, then they get locked into a station. Have new players on the NPE spawn in there to 'test' PVP during their trial. Chuck in a few Devs/ISDs then hellcamp the station. Only the elite can escape. Or talk their way out. Best strip everyone's wallets first and randomise their names on spawning for added confusion, use SiSi style cheapo markets. That sounds like a 'dungeon' to me, and a chance to see who really is 'elite'. I bet some people would stay just for a laugh.

Nice idea, let'S take this a step further:
At 100M Sp, you have become a famous EVE-celebrity and all of New Eden is aware of your presence. - Locator agents will track you down for free - You will be blinking gold on d-scan - You will show up in local even in wormholes - Your mere presence in any system will create a warpable signature viewable by every other pilot.

Loyalty rewards should only apply to people who have not only been around for a while, but also those who log in regularly to actually do stuff, and contribute to the community. I vote no for free stuff even for that, no one should be getting free stuff for anything, contributing to the community is its own reward if you do it right. Jealous much? Without our input over the years, you wouldn't have that EVE that you have now.
Noobs always assume that with many skillpoints comes much isk. This is not the case and no I do not want to sit in a coffin waiting desperatly for PL to gank it, so I can ship down again.

Being plugged into Jovian technology all these years, the reward would be the option to become a Jove. Since Jove is not a playable race, CCP would "take over" this character and I lose access to this character (and thus the account). The reward would be to see ~me~ involved in story lines and other events.
The counterbalance would be to have another active account and thus starting from square one without the thought of, "Hmm, what can I train now for a while?" |

I've changed bank 4 times since I started playing EVE. I've moved 6 times My face has changed 3 times (I was Asian at one point, so I've changed Race as well 'technically', but not bloodline) I've blown up and been blown up enough times to go from 'shakes - to giggles' when it happens.
Really do not need any 'more stuff' .. already got way more stuff that I can ever use / enjoy.
I would enjoy seeing people's skill points (to the nearest 10mill) as an optional overlay to the avatars on the forums.

Nice idea, let's take this a step further: At 100M SP, you have become a famous EVE-celebrity and all of New Eden is aware of your presence. - Locator agents will track you down for free - You will be blinking gold on d-scan - at 150 M SP, you will show up in local even in wormholes - at 200M SP, your mere presence in any system will create a warpable signature viewable by every other pilot. Jealous much? Without our input over the years, you wouldn't have that EVE that you have now. Noobs always assume that with many skillpoints comes much isk. This is not the case and no I do not want to sit in a coffin waiting desperatly for PL to gank it, so I can ship down again. According to CCP Fozzie, the endgame is to finally fly a sooper-dooper boat but it is actually, train everything to V. What noobs want the second all veterans have left is skillpoints for killing rats in asteroid belts and remove and re-apply skillpoints into every flavor of the next five years omg-wtf-bbq-solo-pwn-mobile. Why spend time and money if you need all of it raiht naaooow...
Dude...I'm a 2007, just saying....
I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it.
Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Just having 100m+ skill points is a sufficient reward in and of itself in the actual game.
Since you can buy characters in eve , a char's SP and time played means jack ****.

Unless you can somehow verify that your character is truly the original.
And thank you for referencing char's rather than using Toon.

I AM the Original owner of this 11 year old char , so no i have not used the word ''toon'' since i started playing eve .
And with that said , no even if i can verify that i am the Original owner , wich CCP can see from my rl info they have , i do not want nor need anything ''special' for still being around. That is something that CCP themselves has done , not me as i would not still be here if CCP delivered a shitgame.

I was not saying "you", i meant it in a general term. pardon.
And "Toon" was a term that alerted others that the person really did not get eve.

A reward system based on SP amount would discourage low-SP / SP-Focused alts. These are a critical part of the gameplay and should not be disenfranchised.
An MMO would normally reward you for subscription time, but since the advent of Character Transfer and PLEX, that too would be inappropriate.
No thanks. |

Op has a good point,
I've been here since May 2003, and I have been a loyal player who passed 100m sp a long time ago. We get loyalty points in our local supermarket so why not in a game?

Sorry OP, don't think this a good idea. Playing is a reward itself. |

We do, they just call them "skill points" and you get more the longer you play. |
