You shouldnt need too much for lvl2s. I suggest using the standard missiles because they work better against the smaller targets. Use the cheap versions of whatever is posted and that should cover you lvl2s. Just remember to tank the appropriate damage.

Just in reply to the guy with like 2 mil sp's flying a Rokh in lv.2 missions... Get a Drake and fit it accordingly, with what the last guy posted. Or something at least close to that. And to do that? Sell your Rokh. I can assure you that you don't have the skills to use that ship properly, if you're warping out in lv.2's with the thing. Just sell it, use the money to get yourself a Drake and fit it decently, with whatever your skills allow. Then, when you've plowed through lv.2's for a while, built up some cash and SP's, go for the Rokh if you so desire.

My build is as such
7x Heavies - Training for Tech II. 1x Whatever you want.
3x LSE II 2x Rat Specific (Or for general purpose Kin, and Thermal) 1x SR II
3x SPR II 1x BCU
2x Core Defence Shield Extender I 1x Core Defence Shield Purger I
So far with my given skills, my dmg output sux. But I can literally pull an entire Lv3 Blockade down on top of me and sit pretty. Walk away, have a smoke, possibly spend time with my girlfriend and never worry about my shields dropping below 65%. I can indefinatley run my dual shield hardeners, even with the SPR IIs killing my cap recahrge (Cap Skills were my first aims when I started playing).
With this fit my shields regen at about 197.3 per second (done with the forumal Shield/RegenTime*2.5) and thats what I came up with.. I also double checked with quickfit and it agrees. However it sure as hell feels like its doing alot more than that at peak. My Resists are low if only because I've yet to actually invest much time into Kin/Em/Explo/Therm Shield compensations, and atm have only trained BC lv3. But its getting the job done and not taking any flack from NPC rat swine!

Okay, in reply to the two guys helping with the low budget lvl 2 setup... put together the setup as follows:

as you recommended, but now the problem is with the SPRs reducing my cap recharge rate I can't constantly run the hardeners, I've got Energy Systems Operation at IV and Energy Management at III, seeing as I thought those cap enhancing skills would be uesful, is it just a case I just need to get those higher or are there some other skills I;'ve missed that might help?

I have a similar setup (two shield purgers) I am trying to get my sig radius down, But ive gotten shield rigs to lvl 3 with no change in radius mind you it says it has (from 10% to 7%) but It hasn't ive been monitoring it!

Well, I have:

Any advices? I handle lev 3 and most lev 4 missions just fine, but I wonder if I could improve.
Also, someone could explain to me why should I bother with T2 Heavy Launchers while Arbalest have the same fire ratio and smaller CPU requirements.

Lvl 3's are almost boring. I lost the ship last night on a Lvl 4. I need rigs and a hell of a lot more skill points.
On the 3's I target 4 hostiles, then run at 3/1 or 2/2 hostile/wreck and salvage while fighting. Really cuts down on salvage time, and you can run the tractor/salvager while slowly creeping through the area to the next wreck if its over 20k. My current skill set will not allow this to run indefinitely, but the sheild always breaks before the cap so thats a non issue. I can also stop an Invul field and let the cap climb up, but usuallly you either down enough hostiles to turn off an invul field or your overwhelmed enough the shield gives up the ghost before the cap and your warping anyways.
15,999 shield, recharge 503 seconds.

Rigs: 3x Core Defence Shield Processor II Something like 17200 shields and a 240sec recharge, so... (numbers may be off, I get 180 recharge/sec, but iirc that's about 10-15 points too high)
With my skills, this ship tanks, using only the passive hardeners, 400 EM dps and 600... explosive? With active hardeners the ship tanks... Lots. 50-60% better, depending on which resist, and what orientation of hardeners. (for those math-lazy, that means it tanks about 550->900 dps.. I usually run a setup that tanks 550 to 650 on each resist) (My cap skills are not so good, so I fear enemy nos because that shuts down the hardeners... I only get like +3.5 cap/second at peak recharge using the fury t2 missiles). about 175 dps with regular scourge, about 200ish with furies. I have the 3% shield capacity and 3% shield recharge implant. Fits with Eng V/Elec V/Weapon Upgrades IV (training)
Will get AWU up and see if I can't fit something better in the last high slot, or even see about working a BCU into the lows.
The attractive thing about not using any cap is, of course, the fact that you can get nos'd and not care. The problem is that if you're NOT significantly nos'd (this ship likes to stay at about 30-40 km range, to avoid nos and scramblers), then you're giving up about 200 dps of damage tanked (or could afford to run active hardeners and BCUs in the low slots, to tank about 100dps more and deal 20-30% more dps) for NO REASON. i.e., what you give up in not SOMETIMES MORE tanking and damage you gain in the ability to ALWAYS LESS tank/damage. You know... that whole risk/reward thing :)
The really nice thing is that even if the tank does break, it usually lasts for a long time.
I use the ship for pvp, cause i don't much run missions anymore, and no, I don't use a mwd/web/scram/injector because its clearly not a solo ship xD
It's built to tank and does a hell of a nice job :D

Hi : 7 named heavy missile lauchers 1 drone link augmenter Med : 2 LSE II 2 "named" hardeners (12 sec cycle) (rat specifics, e.g kin + therm) 2 resist amps (T2)(rat specifics, e.g kin + therm) Low : 4 SPR Rigs: 3xcore field purger Drones : 5 x ligth (rat specific)
This baby does (still only 2 mill SP) 172 shield/sec and resist 78/83 therm/kin. (guristas setup) translating into 782 or 1011 incoming therm/kin DPS
Cap need only 3.33 and cap gives 3.58 --> hardeners run forever
Tanks level4, but have problem killing.
If you need DPS and think tank is better than fine ? --> swap out 1-2 SPR with named BCU's
Training missile skills for more DPS now......

I'm currently using a Drake to do lvl 3 missions, and my setup is mainly as follows:

Lo 4xShield Power Relay I
I'm training up to use T2 Relay's, and currently get about 327 per second recharge using the 2.5 formula in the passive shield tank thread. With the T2 Relay's, it goes up closer to 400. "Return with your shield, or on it." |

Good god. I'm sorry, I HAVE to comment. You have an ungodly tank that you REALLY don't need, and jack for DPS with a fit like that. Sure, there's no mission or rat that could kill you, but then, you'd be in there all week trying to kill the 1 mil+ BS and the HACs. Actually, come to think, your resists frankly suck, so I guess you DO need all that regen to survive a harder L4. Lose the SR 2 for a hardener. Really. Then use all the regen slots you don't need for mods that kill things.
Mission tank rule: Enough to not warp out, and no more. The rest for DPS. Kill them, and they can't hurt you. Kill them fast, you make more money/lp/salvage/whatever per hour.

This setup works very well for me. The Assault Launchers are for those fast webbing frigs you get a lot of in L3 missions. The only time I have had to warp out is at the bonus room in Gurista and Angel Extravaganzas.

With this setup i rarely go under 90% sheilds, and cap never runs out since pretty much only running the inv field, tho i do run the tractor and the salavger while in combat, and even then cap never goes under 1/4, like to be efficent :)
Want to try level 4's on it soon, maybe when i get those Power Realy II's
With my skills as they are i get these stats
17180 - Sheilds 372 - Recharge (Seconds) will be around 300 with the Power Realy II's EM Res - 47.5% Explosive Res - 79% Kinetic Res - 81.7% Thermal Res - 75.6%
Note the resitances are with the inv field II running and 1 kinetic and 1 thermal II passive hardner
EDIT: If i also put in three of those rigs it would be a further 60% off recharge pushing 17180 sheilds recharge around the 200 second mark, my maths sucks so i may be off tho

OK, i have been on a little over 2 months but can get 2 of the resists up to about 80% using amplifiers and hardners, not quite sure if i should be bothering with the hardners though as they only boost the resistance by about 10%? Heres what i was told to use...
highs 7 x heavies (sometimes i may swap these depending on missions/ded spaces - heavies suck at killing frigs) 1 x space for a nos/tractor beam/salvager/cloak/whatever mids 1 x D/G shield booster T2 med cap booster/D/G boost amp/AB (again depending what i need to do) 2 x hardners 2 x D/G deflection amps lows 2 x BCU (got 1 domination and one T2) 2 x cap flux coils (T2, its the ones that bring overall cap down - is that a flux coil?) thats it, when in gallante or caldari space the resists to kinetic can go up to 82 or 83% (70 odd without hardners) Thermal is about 75% i think (about 64% without hardners) i was thinking of putting a couple of T1 shield rigs on (therm and kinetic) and a calefraction rig to improve missile damage (aswell as going for T2 heavies)
it works, only mission i had probs with was lvl3 blockade and tanking more than 2 or 3 bs's on my own - sometimes one i want to improve it though, is 80% a good shield resistance? Any ideas?

i use a tanked drake for my lvl 3s and will be continuing its use in lvl 4s. though i also fly a harbinger on another account and take them both into missions.
i cant remember the exact fit of my drake, all i remember is 13344 shield HP and 170s recharge time. nothing else seems to matter at the moment lol.

now my question is:

Keep in mind that i have limited supplys of ISK and i really need to upgrade to lvl 3s so i made this el cheapo setup to be able to advance (reason why no tech 2). Also the resists taht i currently have are random hardeners. I will base my hardeners on the kind of rats i will fight during a mission.
I would like some comments on my setup since ill be fitting my drake very soon (just bought 1 from my corp and almost got the cash to fit all this)
**edit** i can run the 3 hardeners 24/7, they stabalize at around 60% cap. I don't use any active at all on my setup... but i had a bad experience with and expensive active setup and an interceptor with alot of NOS....
highs 7x malkuth heavies (i can use tech II, but grid constraints are being worked out at the moment) 1x salvager (very important for missions... triple your ISK, more if you're lucky)
mids 2 LSEII, 1 thermal amplifier II, 3 Shield recharger II
lows 3 SPR (II soon), and one BCU II, SPR(II) or PDUII
current setup with the pdU II gives a recharge time of 270 seconds for 11k of shielding, with resitsances of 30em 70exp 60kin 65exp
just done blockade level 3 and i'm asking what the fuss is about...
i have ~ 3 mil SP.

This handles most Level 4's with relative ease. Web/scram doesn't really matter since you can just sit and tank most of the damage. NOS'ers aren't that bad (another option is to scrap hardeners with all amps if it's a problem).
The drones really make a difference (an extra 60 or so dps) and mean you can concentrate all missle fire on the bigger ships. The DLA is handy when you're down to the BS's with defenders that like to try and keep range on you. Being able to sic the drones on them from long distance really helps with breaking their tanks.
And despite all the tech 2 equipment, it's not very skill intensive -- I was just under 5m SP when I fitted this.

7x xr3200 heavy missile bays 1x tractor beam
1 named ab, 1 medium tech2 shield booster, 2 invul fields, 2 regolith large shield extenders
2 named bcu's, 1 beta reactor pdu, 1 cap recharge booster thingie
rigs : only one just yet, the +15% cap recharge one.
My cap recharge is about 350s, and I can run the invul fields + booster for a long while. The second large shield extender isn't actually needed for l3's, but it gives a nice buffer in l4. For l4's I also replace the invul fields with ratspecific hardeners, but generally I'm just lazy : )
All this with about 2.6mil sp.

Mother******, you dont even have the skills to fly a raven, so dont comment!! my tech2 fitted navy raven pwns on pve and its separated many drakes from their pilots, stop being a noob!
