I'm talking about dull stories that every one and their mama has in their bio. One I've seen a few of is: The seperated twin situation. ______ was seperated from his/her identical twin at birth and spends their time traversing the universe to one day become reunited with on another. what have you guys seen Sig Nerf - Cortes I declare war on ISD! Works nicely, apparently people sitting at a POS in low sec have nothing better to do other than read BIO's. I did have a story once, but it all sounded horribly dull and so it got deleted. It was a crappy story about generic tat, blah blah parents raped, dog dead., blah blah, Revenge, Die Amarr scum. I deleted that after a while and filled it with random rubbish, stuff nobody wants to know. I deleted that recently and wrote an ENORMOUS story about starting as a miner, being ruined when TechII came out, bankrupt, hear rumors of archaeology, loanshark - ship (Burst), fly to Ani, Pirate attack, Saved by random Caldari, Gallente-Caldari war Grandfather death flashback, Rage at Caldari pilot, Attacked by caldari pilot, Damaged ship activates Accel gate, Accel gate rips engines off ship, ship floats into assteroid belt, get found by some rogue Minmatar, they bring me on their station, I work for them for a while, turns out that my entire story was just a story to some minmatar children on aforementioned station, I am an old man. Umm.. well it made more sense when it was actually a story instead of just those points. Unfortunately for me the Bio doesn't have enough space for 12 A4 pages of background and so cut me off quite early ;.; Even when I revised it I only got to the caldari saving me part. Oh well. The thing is unless you know plenty of RPing players, the bio is really the only outlet available for a tiny bit of player creativity. Our ships all look the same, portraits have some scope but not tremendous amounts and that's it. Other games let you customise armours, weapons, whatever, we have bios, don't begrudge us those I have a bit of a backstory for my main character, but also use the real estate for advertising items for sale. Too many have useful information which is easily found OOG anyway, in place of something creative. Way too many people have no bio. My bio used to contain my ship history, what ships I was flying, what they were called, and how they met their demise. You'd think no-one would care, but some people actually commented on it . Now it's an actualy accurate description of me, a proper bio, modelled slightly on the ones found in EON, so if you read it you'll actually know about my character, not my parents, emo personality, wrecking shots, or NPC damage types, which I think was the point of bios. Also contains attempts at humor and funny quotes, which some people seem to like. ---------- IBTL \o/ EVE is upside down! WTZ+Slower Warp=Win
