Well, you can either confess that you are an ass or you can claim that since this is a RPG you were roleplaying this character, and then the Evol member can claim it was in character and roleplaying too, since there obviously is something wrong in the head on that character you were roleplaying.

Im sorry, but I doubt there is a game on the market that revolves around internet based play, that you wont be subject to an insult or two for being a muppet
I also think dalman has the right idea on this matter. If GAC's pathetic actions can be viewed as an RP attempt in some fasion, who is to say that those chat logs were not taken in an RP sence as well, there is now way you can say that the person was RP'ing that type of character. The only person who knows if it was RP or not, is the person using the Char. So i think all the kids in here have to sit down and stop crying over spilt milk and a name or two.

Yea, I agree that GAC was probably becoming an annoying little****ot. Granted. But there is no reason, under any circumstances, to start insulting people OOC like that. Knowing Evo to be a fairly respectable and honorable corp, I would expect some kind of action to be taken in this matter.

What was said to GAC was distasteful and lame in chat channel.
But as long as it stays in Eve chat or evemail it's acceptable. Once it leaves eve and moves to internet email, IRC chat...or worse like snail-mail or telephone calls then it crosses the line and action should be taken.
IMO, Evo's CEO should probably give out a slap (or worse) and demand a little better behavior out of their members.
I always thought Evo had more class than that, tis a shame. But I don't think it warrants any bans to be levied.

Anybody can kill you at any time for anything...stay on your toes, kill them first or deal with it.
If they want to take over that system and you don't have enough guns to stop them, then leave...or you could continue to harass their mining ops DO NOT whine when you get podkilled or receive some verbal abuse.
Also Evol shouldn't whine about being harassed.
Something smells fishy about the whole "I lost all my skills bit"

Press anyone's buttons long enough and eventually they're gonna give you what you asked for: a smackdown.
Even a jet container has enough hp that a n00b ship with starter guns has realistically no hope of destroying it before someone that's not AFK blasts them to pieces.
So he's doing something he knows has no chance of success with the intention of being a PITA. That's fine. 2 wrongs don't make a right. But he did start it.

Totally agree on this. Insulting someone's parents in this way, even after hearing GAC never knew them as they died when he was 7, is totally unacceptable. They only one who has to "grow up" here are Evolution members.
They should know when to stop. Saying they have gonew through this themselves is total bull****. I doubt their parents died at such a young age. Also, the fact that they can deal with normal pirate threats doesn't mean everyone can.
Though i guess they're only 12 year olds who know nothing but to irritate people.

Anyone who gets bent out of shape by what someone says in a game, forum, or IRC needs to step back from the keyboard and find something else to do for a while.
That said, Evolution is being INCREDIBLY lame by petitioning him for harassment, especially by saying "He's forcing us to lose security status because we HAVE TO POD HIM OVER AND OVER!"

But when did that stop us, the players, from being human? After 3 days, and wasting 38 poddings worth of ammo, and still he comes pretty much everyone replying wouldn't give 2 ****s what they said. I know cause half of you do it in reply to me here on these forums.
Let's not try and jump on the high horse here folks. That horse is about 2 inches tall for many of you.

Here you are, with screenshots and the usual drivel about a poor trader passing through a system and gets podd'd, when asked to leave.
Thing that's missing here is the timespan it took for you to eventually push the right buttons for one of us to snap and say something bad to you in local, you got it and here you are with screenies and whinings.
I went all the way to -10 killing you GAC and I mean you were a pest, there was no gurilla warfare tactics on your behalf, everytime you entered the belt you died before you could do anything. Even the locals who were here have no clue who you are, good pr spin tho, I usually enjoy the bleatings of a whiner, but I do think you went too far with it. 3 days is a long time to get killed, blah on about the bible in local and claim to be a mole in Evo.
So do us a favour, and crawl back to where ever you came from.

GAC you got podded, then ****ed off, then set out to harrass the podders. You succeeded dude and when you started getting under their skin they called you some names BUT eventually realized that wasn't the proper way to deal with the situation and then petitioned you.
Whats the problem?? Its' not their fault you didn't update your clone earlier(if that is truely the case). Getting podded is part to the game.
Setting out in a newbie ship time after time can be considered nothing but a harassment technique since there was little hope of ever being able to strike a meaning blow against them.
You've been caught acting like a child. Own up and move on or just let it go if you aren't mature enough to admit a mistake.

So if that person wont be banned, at least a week or two, then it says the rest of us that we can fly around EVE talking sh1t in local, all we need to say is, he is annoing and had it coming.

What if his parents did die when he was seven.
What if his father did indead molest him.
What if that person who is playing that account is an XX year old buy/girl and he felt truly bad after that?
