I am mad at those who blew it up, and I am even more mad at the person who brought it to the fight in the first place. I am going to refrain from my comments towards that person because that person was nice to me once, but seriously, what were you thinking . Mabye a N-poc but the Im-Poc?! So I'm mad at everyone.

apparently the referees scramble all the ships. also, he's hard core, as proved by the fact he took the impoc in the first place, if you're hard core, you accept defeat, and this will go down in history and being a ballsy move, which sadly didn't pay off.

Congratulations to IAC for fielding the Imperial Apocalypse, but I do feel it's a terrible pity that they (apparently) didn't even try using the ship to its potential. It seems to me like it had no guns at all and was basically a vampire and remote armor repper? LeMonde was scrambling the two biggest ships on each time during all the fights. This way, in the event of a crash, the ships would stay in place so that the pilots could log back on and not be totally screwed.

Only a 15billion ISK ransom to save a ship that's worth 50-75billion?
I think that ransom was not going to be honored, I think it'd have been more of an 'oops, sorry we tried to stop firing, really."

Congratulations really need to go to Cult of War team (ookke, Palx, DaddyMassive and Solovej) flying a Dominix, Ishtar, Absolution and retribution who took out IAC's 'Unbeatable' lineup headed by the Imperial Apoc without loosing a single ship. They really proved that you really shouldn't underestimate the 'little guy' no matter who you are or how expensive a ship you fly.
It was a real shame they went out in the Semis, they were just out damped by 'The R0NIN' who I guess were in trun out-damped by BoB. -----

Quote: I may be wrong but I do believe Cult of War are honorable warriors and would not have blown the Impoc up if the ransom had been paid. Some of them smack a lot but I think they're cool.
They are honorable and will do what they say they will. Very rarely do any members smack, usually only if "smacked" first. Top notch guys that team is, they will be back to A-WAR in a day or two Much respect and love from me to them.
Good show and well done lads. Welcome home.

Many thanks to tyrrax by using the impoc on the eve-stage and letting everyone see it not only in action, but blowing up too

phelean personally told me he had 1 and paid 18bil for it, so who has it??

Congrats for IAC for fielding it.
But to Cult of War i wouldn't brag to much
This was lost in the PvP Tourument which is not real PvP, This ship would not have been lost otherwise.
So if we had liek ganked it with 50 man gatecamp we should brag but killing it on a very strict rules point system tournament we shouldn't brag too much... some people...
and as to the guy who said we would have blown it up anyway... No we wouldnt. If the price had been met the ship would have survived but the counteroffer was 2.5 bill and well... thats peanuts
Also before saying things like that for people who have pvped for the past 2 years on a number of alliance wars and never been accused of dishonesty by any opponent whatsoever afaik is a bit cheap. I guess your daily experience is 1.0 n00b can baiting etc but thats not the environment in which we play this game.
My great respect to TT. Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

There were 4 Imp Apocs given out to the winners off the Amarr Championship, these were Kileak, Grikl, Ecliptical and Black Viper.
Grikl's Imp Apoc was the first to go boom, when he used it to fight in during the Stain-Curse war.
Ecliptical's Went boom Yesterday, after he sold it and then it was sold onto Tyraxx.
Kileak's Account still owns his but his account is banned, so that Imp Apoc is lost forever also.
Black Viper is the only remaining Owner of an Imp Apoc or atleast that is how i understand it to be. -------------------------------------- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/mole12/Mole-sig.jpg Please ensure your signature is 24,000 bytes or less - Udat |

To any and all those who say it was dumb, silly, etc. to fly the Impoc in combat (much less the tourney) I say thus: You are a fool.
Now why do I call you detractors fools? Because you seem to forget the game we are playing. It is called Eve. A game with a massive history that very, very much player driven from story-line to raw source code.
So what does one do if they happen to have one of these unique ships? Well there are only a few options:
- Fly the Ship and risk it's destruction (this is Eve after all) - Hanger the Ship (so only you and your friends can see it) - Sell the ship (get others get involved with the ship _and_ let it be their problem)
I believe the first and last options are the best for Eve as they add a nice history and story to the game.
Finally, I don't think anybody who has one of these unique ships should sell any more to Tyraxx since he's shown that he's not good at keeping them in one piece.

I thought the Gold Magnate solidified that place. There was only one of those, so he'll forever be famous as the only player to lose one.
PS - Tyrrax, how much did Istvaan pressure you to use it so his could shoot up in value 1 billion fold?

lol lots of people. saying it was dumb to risk the ship. look this is a game and that ship is just a piece of the game. if your not afraid to risk something in game then why play ? And this was the best reason to use a unique ship because in a even match up you want to have every little thing go your way.
As for the set up I think i know what the Impoc team was going for. use NOS's + a tank set up and try to use the IMpoc as a tank. the idea being everyone would say it is the IMPOC lets go kill it. allowing the other teammates to move around more freely.
since they lost i guess it didn't work. but it was a interesting and valid strategy.

Yeah the domi is underpowered if anything, 3 nos is 6000pg, dual reps 4000, that leaves you with 500 for a plate and 500 for whatever else you want... ever wonder why everyone uses ECM on a domi? its cos its got butloads of CPU and crap all PG....

Much respect to IAC for fielding this ship.
It was sad to see it going down but (imho) it's better to have a huge boom with hundreds/thousands(?) of ppl watching it then having it in an hangar gathering rust or (worser) losing it on a regular fight/gank. -- Boost ECM on dedicated ships. Please. |

rare ships uber 1 vs 1 primary on other situations. what good a impoc if its webbed, nossed, target jammed, sensor dampened...pick 2 form those situations and u got a dead impoc or federate navy issue...they meant to be a collection ship...it stand out on the battlefield 5 mins instead of 2 mins....and so on...and yea i didnt watch it but things must have worked out something like that.

Actually there were five Imperial Apocalypses, two were destroyed a long time ago, one was returned to the Amarr Empire (BIG got a Impoc from CCP for the anniversary of the BIG Lottery, some RP corps then escorted it to Amarr to give it back to the Empire), one was destroyed during the Tournament, and one is still in the hands of Istvaan Shogaatsu.

I've seen both Istvaan and Tyrrax in their Imperial Apoc's in Sarum Prime at the same time. It was a few days after GHSC had robbed Ubiqua Seraph, and they were probably enjoying the succesfull contract by showing of their wealth in the headquarters of the corp they just robbed 60bil worth of. We (the UQS High Council) actually got a plan ready to suicide bomb at least one of the impoc's if they showed up again. Don't remember the specifics, but it involved *a lot* of Ravens (damage dealing), Scorpions (webbing/scrambling) and Apocalypses (cap/shield transfer, as Logistic Ships didn't exist back then).
Edit: found a screenshot (I was in one of the ships undocking the stations when I noticed them flying in formation. First and only time I've actually seen the ships.)

We can't expect that the implications of fielding the Impoc weren't analyzed under all angles before making such decision. It's an excellent example of a win-win case.
Would IAC win the Tournament = Good. Would IAC loose the ship = respect, sadness, ranting or whatever, except indifference and one thing for sure: no one of those involved will forget it. In this sense, this goes way beyond the framework of the Tournament and spreads the message that whatever it takes, IAC/Tyrrax face a given challenge no matter the outcome.
Kudos to Tyrrax to achieve a lasting mnemonic imprint. This was probably one of the most perfect PR operations in EVE up to date, and as the devil's lawyer, IMHO I can't ignore the fact that this mnemonic imprint is so powerful precisely because the Impoc went down

B/c officer and faction modes allow the possibility of each ship being worth multi billions and not every alliance has that cash so ccp didt want one rich alliance pwning everyone else b/c they could afford all officer modes etc.
