I just recently tried to buy some copies of EVE for some friends of mine to get them into the game and found out that EVE has been recalled from EBX, EBGames, CompUsa, BestBuy, and practically every other store that I could find. The ONLY place I was able to find it was Amazon, and they don't have many copies. This is really scaring me b/c, while EVE has issues, it still think it's a great game. Does anyone know what's going on with this? Don't make me get my flying monkies. |

basically all our complaints were right. all the "Pay for Beta" thing was right all along, I believe the devs and what not said that they plan on advertising more in 2004. so basically the first 8 months will be "retail beta". Since this is thier first game, they needed to get the bugs worked out and we paid for it. I bet next year we will see the game re-released or something like that. ---------------------------------------

I don't care if I paid for a second beta, I will however leave the game if they do a player wipe with the "rumered" second release. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

i think its great being a pay for beta, i mean if they do a player wipe, like said before ill leave the game, im not payting for my hard work to be wiped,...
but if we are left as we are... our corps will be huge, we will control the markets, we will have the ships to fear!!
so for the 1000's that were pay beta, if the marketing does well, and mass advertising.... hopfully we will have a huge game, with so much income, means more frequent updates and new tech...
so i think its a good thing myself

My guess is it is to do with the SSI selling up... most likely it is to rebox with the new distributor (whoever that is).

Keep in mind you have to pay for shelf space when the retailers put your stuff on display. If those boxes weren't being sold then they probably decided to cut their losses and recall them.
I don't know if companies like Amazon would charge for 'virtual' shelf space, but that might be a possibility as well. --------------------------- (c) Copyright Saladin, 2005. Any editing of this post by a third party will be in violation United States Internet Copyright law 46525 of 2003. |

my guess it it is partially SSI havin somethign to do with it. Also witht he game so patched out of date it may be possible they want to update the games' manual and re relase it. Also everyone knows by now there will not be any player wipes that's just stupid talk. The game was put on a low key release because they knew with it being their first game that it'd have bugs they needed to sort out before the pushed the game. now that the bugs are sorted out and they can focus more on content they'll probably repackage the game with a new manual and look and send it onto the shelves with some advertising behind it. _______________________________________________________ Get custom sigs and graphics done here Unforgivn Website

LOL! "Deloup Drakar, stops rumors cold!" Nicely done m8.
In all seriousness, I think what happened with SSI could really benefit EVE. The devs mentioned that they wanted a slow, controlled start to their game and I think a rebox and re-release now that they are up and running will be just what they could have wanted.
Jash has a good point about initial release but then again, which is worse, having 300k people who have never played your game or 300k people who tried it when it was new and buggy and left it? I would think the latter and I think that is how CCP feels too.

Doing a simple search off of Yahoo's shopping search I was able to find more than enough merchants selling Eve Online. I would have to think that they were sold out and may not have reordered.

I am sure that when Windows was first released (1.0 or something) it completely sucked.
Way to go for a first impression.
Look where it is now.
And that is not the only case.
Answering where the copies of EVE went, I have a theory.
That theory is that only 40,000 copies of EVE were ever produced. The limit is placed because this was sort of a "pre-release" and it is not sure how the servers can handle the load.
As stores sold out, they did not reorder as the copies are limited. Those stores that still had stock had stock sent back to stores that were actually selling them. With sales stronger in Europe than it is in the US (personally I've been seeing more and more German players lately), I can imagine boxes from the US being redistributed to the continental Europe. As subs passed the 30,000 mark, the stock remains limited.
There is one constant in the software industry is that you have to keep trying and improving.

The reality is that retail outlet stores are doing what is in their own best interest. They only keep the most profitable games on their shelves because they have very limited space. The only store I can recommend would have it for sure would be Software Etc. If they don't have it, then something is definitaly wrong with this picture, because Software Etc. has just about every game that has ever come out, and alot of good deals on older generation games as well as resale games.
I know Eve no longer appears on the shelves of my local Wal~Mart, which is where I bought my copy, and I had never heard of Eve before I saw it there. I guess I'm a pretty good judge of game character huh.

I think Riffix is right, I think this has to do with SSH since they went under or whatever it was. They need to find a new distributor then have it repackaged before it will come back to stores again. It's just bad timing, If some of you remember Sierra shut down Dynamix only a couple months after Tribes 2s launch. Of course reguardless the game did great, and Tribes 3 is now being made :) ------------------

Edited by: CubePusher on 22/11/2003 12:43:25 Edited by: CubePusher on 22/11/2003 12:41:50 Well all i know is i went through hell to get this game, almost every place i could use to get EVE that this site reccomends didnt have it in stock. All the big stores (HMV, Virgin etc) had it under discontinued and i finally managed to track one down in a GAME store 10 miles away from me after spending all day on the phone. It seemed as if people didnt want me to have the damn game and if i wasnt told it was a great game i probably would have given up on day 1, in the end it took me near enough 2 months to get it which taking the p**s to be honest. You have to pay for the game fair enough, you have to pay for the game then pay to play it your asking alot but if its good enough i've got no problems, you have to pay for the game pay to play it but before you start that were gonna make you run in circles for a few weeks to try to find a copy. What makes it even more frustrating is the client is available to download on the friggin site, you dont even need the CD just the little sticker inside the box with the magic numbers that let you set up an account. If the distrobuter's are going bust or giving up on EVE CCP should just forget about the cd's and let people download the client and set up an account, i bet the only problem we'd have then is severs crashing from the strain of all the new players.
**EDIT**
Just thought i might aswell point out im in the UK so its probably a different story for other places.
Oh and the GAME store i finally managed get a copy from had EVE out of stock the second i walked out the door.

I think part of the problem here is something people plainly do not understand about the retail market:
A store isn't given a piece of merchandise to sell. They pay for it up front.
So when deciding how large to make their order for this 'New and Improved' version, they will look at the performance of the first release. Because Eve isn't a new game, it's an old game. Now your average cash monkey at Software Ect doesn't have anything to do with this. Not even the Uber Head Cash Monkey, the store manager. That decision is made at Corporate, who will look at the performance of previous sales and the prior marketing efforts. They're going to be looking at as many factors as possible to determine how probable it'll be for them to get stuck with worthless merchandise. Since Eve is an Old Game with a visible slow performance history, I'd not expect a massive order.
They'll also look at the fact that they won't be charging $59.95, which means a narrower profit margin and psychological factors affecting the chances of a customer buying a game. They'll also look at the fact that unless it's an expansion pack that the existing playerbase has to pay for, the response will likely be smaller than the response to release.
CCP is now in an uphill struggle to increase the playerbase. And that 'hill' is actually a good sized mountain instead of the normal sized hills most games in this genre go through. Saying "We planned this" would motivate me to cancel my subscription immediately if I believed, even for a second, that it was the truth. Because that would mean they have no business sense whatsoever

Edited by: IZON on 22/11/2003 15:52:58 I agree with you jash, CCP do have a serious up hill struggle on their hands, [one] - they have to persuade retailers that their product is 'worth' the up front investment, and [two] - they will need to persuade new and ex players that their game is also worth the investment. Well, I've been playing to beta test, what does that make me (but am I biased if I say I don't care)? Question is, can they pull the same stunt twice?
edit/ Question is, are they planning on pulling the same stunt again?

Edited by: Vector Victor on 22/11/2003 16:15:39 Well, my guess is that they'll do as pretty much all of the other MMOG's are doing.
Electronic distribution - just download the client and signup for an account online. (The client is actually already available online, it's about 400 meg's)
The same goes for a "relaunch" and getting shelf space in the future. They'll do the same as everyone else. Expansion packs!
It's just logical to do it that way. Everybody else did. And it worked for them
Oh - forgot, "EVE 2" is not a very likely thing imho. Sequels are usually done 5+ years after release and they are always a fresh start (wipe). I'd bet on 3 or 4 expansion packs before that happens

You're still advertising an old product against new products. You're advertising a product based on the reputation you've already established by your previous performance.
That's the uphill battle. "Just add more advertising dollars" doesn't do feck all for established products.

utter bull****.
i see to variants:
1. different box, same game. ppl will go absolutly crazy about this. shops will buy it in huge amounts, customers queing like for the latest harry potter release. i can t wait for that ccp TV-ad (nearly forgot it: )
2. tara: the player owned stations expansion. after month of promised SOON, finally we ve got to pay for it. players will love this. would cause a mess if it was a success, but ppl couldn t buy the original game. so it would have to be included "revised and extended". (lame!)
so i agree, future looks grim. biggest problem are the stores, i doubt they fall for advertisement (without big bucks rolling..)

Eve was pulled off Best Buy's shelves LONG befire SSI was sold. According to a Customer Service Manager it was due to complaints of it crashing too many computers during its usage. The problem was easy to reproduce so they pulled the game instead of selling something that could tarnish their image.

Because a box on a shelf still has a higher conversion ratio than a banner on a website. And Internet Advertising takes a lot more effort than people know.
A conversion being the person that actually buys X product after clicking through the banner. A conversion ration of 1:300 is considered good nowadays. The clickthrough rates on banners nowadays is around .5%.
So in order to get a single signup, you're looking at needing a banner getting around 60,000 impressions. Dunno what the advertising rates are currently for major game sites but you can easily expect them to run a couple grand. For the month, if you're lucky. Plus there's the time factor of developing the promotional material to provide variety to match a site's scheme and audience, keeping the proomotional material from getting stale, working out the 'small' details such as payout % and/or per click rates.
That's why boxes are better. Store X orders Y number of units. You get Y * Store X's cost in cash up front and a much better chance of converting a person that bought that box into a customer for at least 1 month past the initial.

Jash I think you're underestimating the impact the current playerbase could have on future sales. Word-of-mouth advertising is more effective than you give it credit for, especially in the MMOG genre where a lot of players have friends, relatives, coworkers, business associates and forum-friends who play games.
If CCP gets its act together and starts releasing patches that actually fix bugs and add content, I don't think they will have a problem maintaining and gaining players for EVE. Unfortunately that's a pretty big if, judging by the fact that patches that do more than just fix glitches in the UI are becoming the stuff of ancient legend.

Varuna - Jash is right on target as far as the playerbase goes. Right now, word of mouth is that it is NOT worth the purchase. Lack of promised content, lack of meaningful and in any way realistic combat, all of this is on the game sites and more. The actual rating numbers on those same sites - IF THEY EVEN RATE IT - are not very high.
Put all this together with the newer games coming out, with all their advertising hype, and the product history of EVE, the other factors Jash mentions, the failure of the first distributor - and don't think THAT isn't a factor in the store's purchasing decisions - and it doesn't look good.
Don't know about ya'll - but I've seen a declining playerbase in all the Corporations I play with - including my own. And all of those ex-players are NOT preaching sweetness and light about EVE to all their friends, etc. - that "Word of Mouth" thing ya'll are talking about.

Right, read my post again: I said if they fix the game, if they start adding content, and if they make it worth paying for - then the currently playerbase might be a valuable tool for drawing in new players.
Naturally word of mouth works both ways; my point is if they fix the game now they still have a chance to salvage a playerbase by using us to tell our friends "Hey, they actually made it fun to play." But, this is contingent on them being a lot more successful with the upcoming patches than they have in the past.

i went to CompUSA today because i wanted to buy 3 accounts for a couple of friends for Christmas...anyways, the dude i spoke to said that the memo he got was that EVE is shutting down and stuff of that nature... Also he said that used to be a Polaris and he got killed by m0o =)))) but anyways, it was kinda interesting to see what people have to say about this. I just hope that CCP doesnt shut down EVE, even if they are close to bankrupcy(which i doubt...30k subscribers...) and just sell it to another developer. I dont NEED a bigger playerbase, but id like to keep the one we have. That might mean that CCP need to put out good content out...

Harr harr harr,
Blimey bad news mate if yer asken me. Could be the doom for Eve.
On a serious note Im very concerned about the lack of advertising and the lack of availability for the game. Ive not read anything in the magazines about rumors that Eve may be shutting down. Assuming they have around 20K subscribers thats $260,000 per month. Does anyone know what it would cost to rent the servers and the upkeep for the London facility?
It may be they've just got their money out of it, made some cash, and now its time to pack it in. I think the complete lack of Tech II materials is very disturbing considering Tech II is probably an easy thing to introduce compared to player stations and stuff like that.

Eve was advertised? Jash, no offence. But virtually no-one knows about Eve. Hell, I only joined because a friend who played was taking considerable time out of his schedule to play it . *If* CCP gets their act together, removes the lag, sorts out the PvP issues (including, but not limited to missile knockback, ship appearing before environment is loaded, the carebear V PvPer verbal campaign...(Not to be mistaken with the good guys vs bad guys campaign )), releases new tech etc etc, Eve has a good chance of re-releasing. A *very* good chance. Virtually all the gaming sites on the net gave Eve a high rating. Yet, for some reason they never put Eve on their front page. People see CCP's new ad campaign and look at the sites-it's had two good reviews already. People won't buy? I consider myself a professional gamer ( ). And believe me when I say CCP *could* pull it off if they do what they've promised to do.
The likelihood of CCP getting out all the things they've promised, on the other hand, I won't speculate on . _______________________________________________________________________

Several things are hurting EVE right now.. No distributor No positive word of mouth Not many positive reviews in US media (US PC Gamer magazine gave EVE a 55% out of a possible 100 ) These factors tend to hinder a product's growth.
I myself think EVE has great potential. Unfortunately, it's not reaching it's potential. That burden lies solely on CCP's shoulders. The ball is in their court.
The goal of reaching a 5 year long storyline, is optimistic at best, given the current state of affairs. EVE is my first, and last,MMORPG. The experience has been disappointing overall. I would really like to begin enjoying the game..while there are still some people actually playing it.

I honestly don't know if this statement makes me want to laugh or cry.
There's a reason that 99% of people who you talk to will remember Windows 3.1 as the "first" Windows. You know why? It was the first one that worked. Windows 1 was an utter piece of garbage compared to EVE and Windows 3.0 wasn't much better. Windows 3.1 was still unreliable, but you're talking about issues that go far beyond anything that anyone is experiencing in EVE.
Comparing an OS to a game? Apples and oranges anyway.

It was a rough road for CCP right from the start. They had this brilliant roll out plan for EVE (keep the player base as small as possible) which was nearly ruined when the players on line soared to 6,300 in June. They have managed an astounding recovery from this though and have managed to whittle the playerbase back down to desired levels.
Now it is time for phase two of the master plan. A massive advertising blitz to launch Eve into the forefront of online gaming. In fact, rumor has it that they have booked half the ad spots for this years Super Bowl including the coveted pre-kick off slots - all 3 of them!!!!! This years Super Bowl half time show will also feature Britney Spears & Bjork in a special salute to EVE presentation. Going to be awesome.

Fact or rumour? It can't be both lest you live by oxymorons . But that sounds very ambitious. However given the massive failure of the Amarr event (0nly 200 players got in, and the rest were sent to lag hell) Then phase 2 could end up being a damp quid.

I never said the game doesnt have issues like every other game. Yes we could use some more content and tech 2 and such forth. however they already told everyoen it's coming so why bother *****ing about it unless they dont deliver. On top of that people were complaining before because of to many patchs and bugs crying to have them do bigger patchs they test more. Well now they are doing that so I really dont see the issue here. Also lugnut i'm assuming you work for that best buy?
Some info for you all if you don't believe me. Diable 2 patch promised took over a year to deliver. A patch from sierra for there nascar racing game took 6 months to deliver both of which were promised months ealier. So i guess the point is when ccp fails to give it to you in a timely manner and it beccomes january without even seeing tech 2 then you all have a reason to complain. CCP has already stated that they are vamping up for a release in Asian markets. I believe they think that will be their saving grace, as the influx of new money and members will activate a game that has grown stagniate.

I believe the game is called 'Devil 2: Lord of Disruption.' That game still has over 20k clients logging 24 hrs a day. Now that is impressive for an old and rather simple game. But Snowstorm did something right to keep it's clientele interested.
I wonder what a company like that could do for Eve? Hmm... makes one wonder.

From what I hear CCP don't "appear" worried. In fact part of it is part of the plan. First there can NOT be a player reset. Here is why.
Two reasons for a small initial release.
1) Many online game suffered from huge release from the initial unexpected bugs. Starting slow is a good idea.
2) The player economy 'background' (ie. us) needs to be there for decent content. Thats is there now and hence why CCP will not do a player wipe.
From all the communication I've been hearing, a big release push will be coming. The game is totally non-existent in Asia at the moment and that should be where their push is. I doubt they will re-release in europe and the US. The collapse of SSI was unexpected and I'm glad to see EVE doing so well under such difficulties.

I just feel sorry for all the people that want to play the game but simply cant because nowhere stocks it anymore, i was reading this forum for weeks while looking for a copy of EVE seeing you guys ***** non stop about no new players thinking if only you knew what a pain in the a$$ it is to get the damn game. It might be an intresting idea to open a non player forum so people who are intrested in the game can slag of CCP for not being able to get a copy, then at least we can see for ourselves that there is a large number of people who want to play the game but simply cant and CCP might see that boxes may be a bad idea for this game.

There are a few Japanese players in EVE, but in general, EVE has a problem with its scheduled downtime which is a turn off in these markets. For example, if you're in Japan or Korea, the server DT would fall right around 8:00pm in the evenings, and that's quite a turn off for the players there. The DT also affects Australian players, hitting them around 9:00pm and NZ players, probably around 10:00pm.

don¦t get too happy about the Asian release - all it will do for us is provide a more stable source of income for CCP and / or the publisher. in all likelihood the Asia based customers will get their own server, or can you imagine what an influx of 30k new players would do to the current server structure? player counts reached close to peak levels within three weeks of release, so that¦d be taking us a nice bit over 10k on a good weekend - which is more than the alleged maxium capacity.

that is a major turn off for me right now and currently -- I only just started playing EVE one month ago and I am already thinking of quitting for a month or two until they stop this fecked up downtime crap.
My friends wont play also due to the downtime because it annoys the hell out of them.
There is also an AUSSIE chat channel and it has about the same activity as two bricks having se.x.
So, CCP should get there stuff together as right now I am not impressed and I dont know about Australasians opinions but it isnt very high as there is no effort being put into supporting our time zone.

LOL, if you ask me the only thing hurting the future of EVE is this forum and the people who routinely b!tch and presume to know more than they possibly could.
This simple fact is next to no one in this forum is has any clue what the people at CCP are thinking or are in the gifted position to know what constitutes a good business decision for the future. All we have is wild speculation that many like to put off as fact, even if it is just opinion.
The the real scary part is that most people don't realize this. Most people don't realize that just because the board is filled with people complaining that the majority of players might actually be happy. Most people don't stop to realize that the happy people are too busy playing to come here and whine. MOST PEOPLE don't realize that the people who post here represent a tiny minority of the game population.
Because of this, whiners hurt the game way more than they ever help it because they live in a fantasy world. They live in a magic place where MMOG designers are perfect, where all code runs flawlessly, where the boards are littered with posts from the devs responding to everyone's issues, where new content flows like a river, where all elements of the game are fun/fair/balanced, where every player is happy, and where somehow Eve is an exception to the norm.
I hate to break it to all you whiners but that world DOES NOT EXIST. Do Eve a favor and wake up. Turn your unreasonable whines into constructive criticism and analysis. Or better yet, show me a game where this world does exist. Then go play that game and leave the people who like Eve and want to continue to play the game in peace :-)

I find this topic a bit strange. My corp has gone on a recruiting drive and has had more success in recruiting new players than ever before (and probably some alts ). Where are these ppl buying Eve from?
I also don't understand where the idea of a player wipe comes from. The devs have made it clear in a couple of interviews that they expect us to help new players on the very steep learning curve that Eve has at the start. This can't be done if there is a player wipe as a considerable amount of the community, myself probably included, would stop playing.

When I used to play Shattered Galaxy, every three months they have a "Resurrection" event.
In a Resurrection, players with maxed levels can restart all over but for every resurrection they get bonus attribute points which will take them even further when they maxed their levels again.
I think this is an example of a player "wipe".
I still miss that game, but I had to leave it since it was so ultracompetitive and people are so easily teed off or elitist. There was never a game in this planet where people hurled that much insults to each other.

All you've basicly said in that whole post is "stop trying to make eve a better game with more players" because looking back through peoples post's thats all i can see, did you even read most of the thread? The whole point of the thread is about getting more players into the game and why it isnt happening and what can be done . We've had :
1) Get the game back one the shelves. (failing that number 2)
2) Let people download the client and set up an account via online (get rid of the boxes)
3) Cut down the server down time (even though i cant see an hours down time being much of a problem it matters to some people apparently)
4) Get the Dev's more involved with the community
5) Get some form of advertising going
6) Make patches more regular
All of those have knock on effects and would get players flooding into the game which would give CCP more subscribers, more subscribers means more money, more money means better servers and more staff and that means that you have a great game with loads of subscribers and content being added constantly..........you know that dream world you were talking about earlier.
You on the other hand have offered :
Quote: leave the people who like Eve and want to continue to play the game in peace :-)
I wonder who likes the game more, the people who offer ideas on how to get more players in or the ones who tell those people to get out.

CubePusher,
Ya know mate, I have to apologize because much of my last post was more directed to the forum community at large rather than just this post and you are right in calling me on it because it was not clear and probably not completely appropriate. However, I think I still have a valid point so let me see if I can make it a bit more clear:
Quote:
Yep all stems from lack of communication from CCP.......i dont feel i've been playing long enough comment on that but alot of people say its a problem and you've just highlighted it again.
Yes, I guess I did highlight it and I can't argue that it is poorer than I would like. But the thing that I was trying to point out (granted in an unclear way) is that we as a community should take SOME responsibility for it.
I mean, how would you feel if I sat here knowing nothing about what you do for work or how you do it and told you that you are doing a terrible job and if you would just get off your @ss and do X, Y, and Z it would be better. Would you want to have open communication with me? Likely not. Now I am not saying that the devs don't post because they think we are all whiners, but I'm sure it doesn't help.
Quote:
I dont think most of the people who have posted here live in that world, i think they WANT that world and know you aint gonna get it without a certain degree of b!tching. If everyone just goes along not questioning anything then how is anything going to improve?
I never said people shouldn't try to make things the way they want them. All I was trying to say was that b!tching and whining is not the way. Threatening to leave is not the way.
It is true that if we don't speak up the devs will not know how we feel but it is also true that the devs don't need us to whine and complain about and issue and tell them they don't know what the hell they are doing to bring it to their attention.
Quote:
Not yet, but if it does one day it will be down to the people "whining" and asking questions rather than the people who do nothing.
I can't really argue with you here as I can't see the future.
Quote:
Just out of curiosity where is your constructive criticism or analysis? All you've basicly said in that whole post is "stop trying to make eve a better game with more players"
Actually, I said nothing of the sort. I basically said quit negatively b!tching and spreading rumors about things you know nothing about. The underlying concept being how to HELP Eve's future by not making it look like the community hates the game and the developers. But this is where I have to concede that my point may not have been as clear as I would have liked.
But if you want to see an example of my constructive criticism, see the first page of this thread or even better, check out this thread. Now, granted nothing has been done as of this writing regarding what I brought up there but I did get a member of Polaris to respond and hopefully do something which is more than I can say for most threads in this forum.
Quote: because looking back through peoples post's thats all i can see, did you even read most of the thread? The whole point of the thread is about getting more players into the game and why it isnt happening and what can be done.
I have to confess that I think posts from other threads blurred in my head when I wrote this whole thing as for the most part you are right. However, many people in this thread have also helped perpetuate the idea that somehow, somewhere, CCP mentioned something about a player wipe which to my knowledge is patently untrue.
This is the kind of idea that only hurts Eve as this idea floats through the entire forum and eventually you have the entire playerbase upset that CCP would even consider something like that even though to the best of anyone's knowledge they did no such thing. THAT, most certainly does not help the future of Eve. Nor does spreading the idea that word of mouth for Eve is bad. As far as I know only God can claim to know how word of mouth is for Eve but when people make such claims, most people do nothing but walk away believing that.
One a related note, you can see an example of how the negative state of our forum has hurt the future of Eve by reading this article by gamespy. The author of the article somehow mananged to give every other game a pretty level rundown except Eve which he made sound like the worst MMOG of 2003 because he used info from "player accounts" as he hadn't played it himself. Not to mention he never mentioned any of the outstanding features of Eve that no other MMOG has and there are several. Now some people may be able to recognize that the author was full of something because he somehow called Star Wars Galaxies a hit (several times) when the general concensus from many is that the game sucks

Now some people may be able to recognize that the author was full of something because he somehow called Star Wars Galaxies a hit (several times) when the general concensus from many is that the game sucks large and the playerbase is rapdily decreasing, but to anyone who might have played Eve in the future, after reading that article they most likely won't.

All true things that you have said and I applaud you for putting them together in a concise list. If I were a dev that would be the best way to present to me ideas I should read instead of wading through mountains of posts.

I wonder who likes the game more, the people who offer ideas on how to get more players in or the ones who tell those people to get out.
Well what can I say? I wasn't telling the people making useful suggestions to get out so I can't really answer your question. Again, I was merely including my input as to what I thought would help the future of Eve, or at least would help not to hurt it. I recognize that I might have been out of line to post the majority of it in this thread but I still stand by my saying that people who by all impressions don't like the game and have nothing constructive or useful to say leave and find a game they consider is better since they obviously think Eve doesn't cut it for them.
