damn, every time i get into the que, it either says unable to connect to blah blah blah on port blah or checking status and never updates. lol, so much for my ship o guess v.v another 5 mil isk down the drain.

:). the plan was to go home from school. chance skill at 15 gmt. (+30min for reboots)..
my skill has finishes, as i though i was smart when i had the first chance. to set a 30min skill, while brushing teeth and get ready for bed..

Good to know I'm not the only person here who works kitchen, even though itsĘ the schools pub. Yeah, I know, **** happens. Hell I have screwed up an order or two in my day but in that event I have apologized and compensated the customer. I think thatĘs what most people are getting *****y about.
Only reason why I'm getting annoyed is that this problem could have been avoided by scheduling down time to make sure everything is running smoothly rather than boot a few thousand people all of a sudden.

It's times like these when I just go out to the forge, put some steel in the fire and pound the living bejeesus out of it...and I've done alot of that since REVELATIONS. This is seriously getting unfun. Save the "if you knew anything about programming" type retorts. I was in the IT industry long before most of you were twinkles in mommy's eye...getting paid to boot up old Digital PDP's by toggle switch sequence, pencilling in code on cards by the thousands and floppy disks were a whole 2 MB in capacity and were the size of a medium pizza.
Don't mind me...I feel better now...I'll come back in a week or so when the KISS principle has been restored to it's rightful place.

I could not find this In the patch notes .
Logins are being manually throttled, this may take some time.
But if this is new then i wil support it :)
Even when it takes me 24 hours to loggin :)
CCP is doing a great job and the ar getting payd 4 that job to :)

During these kinda "easy" release updates there should be possibility to set up max 5 skils into "training path" that will automaticly change to next one when one ends.
This way there migth be much less worried players like me and many other who is losing training-time because "fully-working" release update is delaying paying customers services.
ps.sorry my grammar, but i hope you got the point.

I doubt its worth trying to log in right now.
If they are throtting then there must be pretty much some awful lag in there right now or they wouldn't have to do it ....
In other news ... weren't they meant to be addressing server stability in this patch ... ?

UNIX admin here with a server park to maintain and some more things, if that counts. But thats not the point. Point is, you don't HAVE to be a rocket scientist to make the following observations:
- I see other not so small MMO-style games that rarely of ever screw up patches to the extend of the server being unavailable, eventhough they have no regular downtime (no, I won't say which one I have in mind). But then nobody else is as [smart|not smart] (make your pick) to do a non-sharded thing and try to make it scale forever.
- I see other not so small MMO-style games refund play time or cash when this happens (no, I still won't say which one I have in mind). Not that I care about the play time or the cash but it would be a darn nice gesture.
- I see other MMO-style games that actually don't hide patch notes behind a login, and most importantly (and I said this like a billion times) that actually have a prominently featured and bookmarkable link with the current game status and issues on the homepage, and don't hide it in the forums for people to dig for each and every time.
That'd be my $0.02
