I agree with everything people before me have said regarding the new regions. The current state of affairs is absurd at best.
CCP is introducing new content so they get rewards for best extension, new content and publicity which attracts new customers and generates more money. Like every other company, CCP will of course deny any such allegations. They will say they are working on a fix and it will be released soon. They say other things have a priority. They say it's not a game breaking issue. They try to put people against each other on forums by saying such things. People living in old regions going against people living in new, accusing them of making more money. All to give CCP time to focus on things that they think are important. It doesn't matter what CCP says, it's not important. The only important thing that matters is what the community thinks about the game/developing company. If the community thinks that CCP has turned into a bunch of greedy capitalistic bastards, others (mostly press) will get such impression as well. I hope CCP will get negative press attention, the sooner the better for the community. CCP needs to stop being a capitalist company and become a company serving the people, doing what the people want (they will of course say they already are such company and throw warp to zero and WCS nerf as arguments).

Continued from Above. Read above first please.
Take..ADVANTAGE of that. I dont mean ABUSE that, which is what you are currently edging towards. Hire more forum moderators. I dont mean forum ****'s. Coming into a thread, saying its offtopic and locking it does NO good to ANYONE; and that just makes you a forum **** with power which is the worse kind. Hire people who CARE about the game. You dont even need to PAY them. Just give them a chance to improve the game they love and that will be payment enough. (Anyone seeking actual pay for that need not even bother). Let them sort through the massive amount of posts...but then..LISTEN TO THEM. When they go "Hey..so and so..this problem (Link Included) is serious and needs attention ASAP" actually do as they suggested. THEY are, or should be, the ears of the community. Here..a picture.
Devs ^ Forum Mods ^ Community
I dont think posts of "Whats a good setup for X" need dev attention. But a thread like this detailing FOR THE DEVS..all the problems of a certain region (Actually a series of regions) needs attention as its major.
Second solution..you know those dev blogs you like to put out? How..about..oh i dont know..letting us KNOW you have heard our problems. Instead of "Blah blah blah..revelations 2..blah blah" how about going more like.. "Ok so...new regions..alot of problems..looking into them now, expect update within the week with a list of problems we can see, feel free to contribute. Then we will tell you our plans for fixing them". No..big ole secrets need to be given away. What we want is to know that YOU HEAR US. Right now it seems as if you are deaf.
Understand something CCP. I..do not like openly citing your flaws. But when those flaws become as apparent as the great wall of china suddenly disappearing, then I have no problem calling you out on it.
And just as a point to my earlier suggested solution of increasing the forum moderators (Atleast another 20 from the looks of it), let me say something. I have 3..accounts. 1 Main character on each plus usually an alt of some sort (Market Checking. Or..hauler to avoid Privateer Alliance's annoying wardeck at the moment). Thats 45 bucks a month. Also i usually buy GTC's and sell em for isk. Figure in total i spend 100bucks a month on EVE. Do i mind? Nope, love the game. I spend on average 8 to 12hrs a DAY! playing the game. Yes im a geek, and most everyone who plays is (EVE..is NOT a game for the Intelligence Handicaped. I dont mean mentally handicaped, i mean people who are just plain ignorant). Would I gladly play 2hrs less and spend that time surfing the forums and passing along problems to the devs? Sure because it will HELP..THE...GAME..>SUCCEED. (You really should have noticed my continued use of the word Success by now..)
All in all..best thing you can do CCP...listen to the players and LET them know you are listening.
Hmph.
PS: Yes..I am wordy at times, sorry folks

Finn Yr..i hate you..now i have more to say! Heh. You are spot on with your post there and i totally agree. And just to Prove your point...I am going to bring out a dirty word in MMO's.... Ready for it? Ok..warned you.. SOE I used to play Star Wars Galaxies. God was it great..It was like eve in its scale, complexity, quality mature playerbase (Ok..most of it was mature atleast, always got some ignorant brats running around). I spent hours doing everything i could in that game. And..then...SOE..(Insert Dun Dun Dun sound here). They failed to see that the game was great as it was! They thought they could fix it. (Read: Failure to See problems/Figuring new stuff will make all happy) (Read: Revelations 2) What happened? SOE hurt the game and killed the playerbase. They failed to see even after that that it was THEIR fault. Not the game, not the players, THEIRS. Then...EQ2 came out and..rinse and repeat. Well actually..no, it pretty much sucked from the start thanks to SOE's (Lack Of)Support.
CCP is falling into that trap and they got 1 saving throw left (What! Im a dice geek, shush).
As for the media...getting wind of it. To late. Now I am not going to say my name, but I will say this. I used to write articles for CGM. So..the email i sent..wasnt to some submission thing, it was to my good friend who still writes for them. So...the wind picked up some speed as it is said. Now he doesnt play eve, he doesnt do MMO's, but he has enough friends that do. I wouldnt be surprised if he wrote a peice in one of the following issues about EVE. (Sad to say, EVE isnt a new release so it might be back burnered for a while when new stuff comes out. Way it works usually).

If bad publicity and failing rateings is the only feedback that CCP can hear.. then bring on the **** storm I say.
MMO's only get 1 chance.. once they cross the line and they playbase says to hell with it.. thats it your game dies.. Take a lesson from the other MMO's that failed miseribly cause the players wern't listened to or acknowledged.
CCP is teetering over the line and the abyss before it is vast and deep indeed.
Do the right thing.. listen to the players that are trying to help you improve OBVIOUS flaws and broken mechanics...
I can already see Eve falling to the bottom of the worth playing pile..

Edited by: Amelia Ryan on 16/03/2007 19:44:06 Meh, CCP is to busy creating their expansions with station walking & all that so they have more accounts to sell.
They don't seem to care about us, we are allready paying for the game.
Not a lot we can do then selling high end alloys and buying low end minerals in empire like crazy.
Gues the macrominers aren't complaining
Fact, this topic has about 6000 views, also new ones are created everywhere. Still after months, no official answer on this issue.
CCP, what will it take to let u realise that support for your customers is very important?!
And don't think im gonna stop complaining because you don't answer, that kind of trick doesn't work on me.

In the patch notes for the upcoming patch, near the bottom is this message under Misc:
"An asteroid seeding issue in the G5KW region has been addressed."
Perhaps we haven't placed enough bug reports for the other new regions. I intend to put one in for 6HL8-L. This region likewise has asteroid seeding issues. I'm sure that every one of the new regions has had at least one bug report placed on it, but just in case I'm placing one for this region.

...Yeh...so...WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT?!?!?!?!?!? Thanks CCP...for absolutely...a half-done job... Thanks for fixing...1...One Single...REGION. Theres two? (or is it three?) other regions STILL fubared. 7-K is still fubared. And from what Reachok is saying, G5 is still fubared too. Ill be filling a mass number of bug reports, i think...about 50...should get some attention. Gah good job CCP on totally missing the entire "ALL OF THE DRONE REGIONS ARE FUBARED". Blarg. If you live in new region with bugged belts, someone make a single mail for the alliance with the message to mass report a good constructed and detailed bug report (include a nice report in the mail).
If you can get most of your alliance members copy paste and report the issue, it might help a great deal.

Yep a dev post...a TOTALLY USELESS DEV POST. I wonder if anyone else noticed the nature of the post? "Everythings fine! and it was intended to be this way" Hahahaha. You intended the new regions to be fubared? That goes along with the thought that the japanse ruler intended for his country to be nuked to smithereens in WW2. Sorry but that dev post is full of more manure than a cow farm. When a dev actually posts something useful, then ill be surprised. All that Ov's post in that threat said was "Gee, we intended to ream your rectum till you bled!" Oh and his little comment "Dont like it, 5000 other systems" How about the fact that we moved out here because of the propoganda (And it is showing itself to be just that) that YOU spewed. So blame yourselves, not us. Heres some numbers for you CCP... I own 3 accounts. What you have done to the new regions is making me tempted to cancel all 3. Thats 45 dollars loss. Big deal right? Consider that I am PROBABLY not the only one.

Probably cause they see that this thread isnt full of fracking fanboi's who get won over just by a dev posting, like the other thread until I opened my mouth. I find it funny, in the other one..posting back and forth every few minutes. I post and then..nada. Im thinking the devs dont like conflict...oh well.

Edited by: Zanpt on 19/03/2007 11:32:59 Vactet, I agree completely. I own six accounts and my blood pressure goes up every time they make what appear to be mindless, meddling changes. They just removed ice from all systems of 0.8 and above, going a long way toward ruining the small system where my chars hang out. We only have six belts, which are frequently stripped by macrominers or a-hole corps that move in to mine, then move out. The ice was a relaxing change from mining tiny baby roids that pop in one cycle. It was still a challenge because it's a PITA to ferry it to market. I was going to train for and buy a freighter. Now I don't need the freighter. I bought Exhumers for three chars to train for Mackinaw, then Hulk. Now I see I wasted my money and the training time for the Mack. I don't need them with no ice in the system.
The "distance bug" keeps reappearing, where the server and client ideas of where a ship is drift apart, resulting in garbage like a jetcan being tossed more than 1500 from a ship.
The ship, station and gate bounce problem persists, which is most annoying. I have to think that the bounce was coded intentionally, since it takes code to detect a collision and then change my ship direction and put my thrust to 100%. Except that I didn't tell the ship to go to full thrust. I have to think that the decision to do this came from nitwits.
And the overview coding error persists... a click on an item in the overview is not processed until a present update to the overview completes, by which time a different item may be in the slot clicked. Everyone has experienced this... chasing an item through the overview two, three, four, five times. And everyone has warped to the wrong station or gate because of it. I hate to think of what this does in PvP, where targeting the wrong ship can be deadly. And its just a result of amateur programming... anyone experienced in UI programming can see what's wrong with it. The click, if it occurs during an overview update, should grab the identifier of the item clicked. Then, when the update has completed, the new location of the saved identifier should be found and the click processed against the item clicked, in its new location if it has moved. Duhhh.
I already canceled credit card billing on all my accounts several months ago. I buy GTC from an authorized seller, and maybe I'll let some of them lapse as a form of fine levied against CCP. Perhaps I'll start buying GTC codes for ISK. But locking myself in by paying for a year up front has about as much chance as a scream in the vacuum of space. I don't have much confidence that CCP is going to survive, and right now I don't think they deserve to survive. I recommended the game to a few people, one of whom dove in big time. I regret that and I no longer recommend Eve to anyone.
In any case I reserve the right to levy a fine of up to US$90 per month against CCP anytime they sufficiently p*ss me off, which they seem very hard to be trying to do with arbitrary meddling that has profound effects on me.
Eve is a marvelous piece of technical work, many of whose features aren't even noticed by many players. Much that is displayed is dynamically updated when the database items change. Usually updated, that is. The rich environment with a functioning economy is really quite a piece of work. When it works, that is. Some of the market stuff seems permanently broken. When you select Sell This Item the proposed selling price seems to be pulled out of Eve's *ss. Recently Buy Order generation was broken but now seems fixed. It's impossible to tell which Sell Orders have been completely satisfied because they disappear from the Orders pages. Partially satisfied Sell Orders show the current/original quantity, which is cool, but they should remain when current goes to zero so we can see what needs to be manuf'd again and put up for sale. They should be deletable when zero, either individually or en masse.

That was supposed to be "I'm sure glad *my* bank..." Couldn't edit it due to the bug mentioned above.
The CCP folks are getting way too full of themselves. It's a great game and a great concept and the database basis is a great implementation. But bugs should be fixed before any time is spent on new features and content. This is not a trivial matter because even though it is "a game," players invest huge amounts of their time and attention in building skills and building up their economic clout to buy ships, engage in trade, etc. We pay CCP to play, and we invest our time. The latter makes it a trap, which is why I think CCP has such a cavalier attitude -- they are pretty sure that few threats to leave the game will be carried out. And they're right, up to a point. At that point a player will write Eve off as not worth playing, and will abandon all that he has invested. Beforethat point he may stop recommending Eve to friends and may register negative reviews in an of many places where opinions can be expressed.
Eve should FIX THE BUGS before working on new features and content. Those bugs are affecting tens of thousands of current, playing customers every day, every hour, every minute.
CCP should be very, very careful about meddling with attributes of ships, fittings, stations, etc. A friend of mine just discovered that his perfect refining, for which he worked very hard in training and raising his standing with the station entity, has dropped to 60-something %. CCP may think he now has incentive to train more or run more missions, but actually he now has a disincentive to mine and refine. Instead he may become bitter and take up killing noobs to discourage them from continuing in Eve. Many changes made by CCP have unintended consequences, as in RL.
Speaking of RL, some of the changes CCP makes are of a type that don't happen in RL. For example, if I buy an XYZ GL automobile with a 2.4 liter engine, the manuf will NEVER reduce my engine power after I buy the car. If I put the car in for periodic service I won't get it back with the stereo replaced by an enhanced drink holder, or the cruise control replaced by a pollution control.
And what is this nonsense about T2? Did God mandate that T2 is exempt from The Market? I manuf items and I have to completely ignore T2 because the BPOs are NEVER on The Market. As far as I'm concerned, T2 and "named" items don't exist and won't exist until T2 and "named" are fully integrated into The Market. The Market works, which CCP doesn't seem to understand. Lotteries and agent awards of "special" items are a load of crap.

My word peeps. I came into the forum looking for answers to my computer crashing while playing eve(only eve crashes). I have now read through this whole thread and am appalled at the treatment the customers are getting from ccp. There have been many contributors to the thread who have had good manners and patience. I salute you all and am disappointed in the response by ccg. The names that stick out most are Zerhyryrs and Vactet, who seem to have tried to bite thier tongue in the belief that ccg would remedy things, even after months and many many petitions. Vactecs offer to be a forum moderator 2 hours a day, says a lot for his dedication to eve. I presume that Vactec would not be alone in this from the huge gamer base eve currently has. To have to resort to going to the gaming mags to get thier point over to ccg was beyond my imagining and seriously questions the credebility of ccg being a customer friendly company. I was given a 2 week trial code by a friend(didnt work so opened a new account to see what all the fuss was about). One of my friends has 3 accounts as does Vactec. The chars range from more than 3.5 years, 3yrs and his latest at about 2yrs. He has seen big changes since his arrival and is not pleased with some of the changes. He believes that ccg in his opinion are moving from the mining, exploration, corp/faction gaming to PVP as being the focus of the game. Having a little under 2 weeks of my month still to run, I am unsure whether I will keep playing eve. I will see how people react to the 1.4 being d/l today. I dont see why I should invest ú150 and 100s of hours per year in a product that has so many faults and a company failing its customers. Thanks to everybody for the heads up. I will be interested to see what everyone says after the 1.4 is finished installing this evening(UK time). Sorry for the long post, hope to see you all in space(prefferably not at the end of some ordnance incoming.lol Be lucky

This is the worst whine thread ever. Any good points that may have been made have been drowned out by mass idiocy.
1)when drone spawns get nerfed and started vanishing, ALL spawns were nerfed and started vanishing. I used to live in a -.8 system with 20+ belts, and I was lucky if there would be 3 dual 500k bs spawns in system. The fact is, my allaince lives a fairly decent guristas space, but my corp all rats in drone space. Yes, drones should drop less morp/mega/zyd and more iso/nox/mex 2)Yes rocks are too small. This should be fixed. 3)Exploration complexes suck everywhere, don't feel bad. 4)You have better minerals than any other region (barring lowends) 5)The entire game has a mexallon deficiency atm 6)if you want to do missions, move to curse or stain, you moved to the wrong place. 7)You get good rewards every time, I make most of my isk off one or two dread spawns a month.

So why exactly is this such a hard problem for the devs to fix? Seems to me if it was designed correctly it would be as simple as entering some numbers into a database.
Server starts up. Server checks database to see how much roids should regrow. Server uses that number to calculate regrow. Server adds that to the roids. Done. If it's any more complicated than that then it's broken... ---
