Seems like a great tool - however I fail to understand why anyone wouldn't wanna post their losses? Losing ships is a natural thing in pvp - even if you fight smart. _____________________________________

Can CCP please include a hash in the kill mail that would allow us to verify the kill as legit through some sort of api? ---

That would require quite a bit of DB overhead on their end.. on the other hand it'd also be able to pull more details then the killmails are able to give due to length.
Though if they added a table and inserted all the kill details that are dumped to the killmail generator routine at the same time the killmail is generated they could then include a serial hash in the killmail. -- "There are over 500 million fire arms in worldwide circulation. That is one fire arm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is... How do we arm the other eleven?"

This idea is an average surrogate for a solution.
My idea is 100% accurate, requires no fussing with RSS feeds and is far more practical, check it out.

Where can we see your idea in action? Coz if we cannot, do you see the drawback it has over this working solution. -

I hope you're not suggesting I administer such a project, yes obviously it doesn't exist in Eve yet but if you had bothered to even read the op of my post you'd see I cited the Wow armory and the BF model. But the list goes on, virtually every modern multiplayer game on Xbox live and PS3 has some kind of ranking, however primitive, to offer some comparative measure in skill. When a game like Warhawk has a better system than Eve, we have a crisis.
I'm suggesting we take Eve into more modern territory, you're suggesting we follow CCP's laissez-faire model on all things. What has that yielded for us? A hands-off approach has yielded - a dysfunctional forum moderation group
- a dysfunctional event and storyline group
- absolutely no official documentation for three years
- a volunteer bug reporting team that has more in common with the MOD squad than debugging
- a throwaway killmail system that has no way to validate
- t20, a dev scandal and a nightmare from which CCP is still trying to recover
You suggest we keep the community feel alive and maintain a stiff upper lip, I offer a more elegant solution, make it public, take it out player hands entirely and you will see more serious tactics among pvp enthusiasts. The data is already completely being generated and collected by the server, I'm suggesting port it all to a utilitarian DB, that's it. ___ Junkie Beverage: i use your tears to cyno in my laughter

I suggest the practical solution that exists is better than the one in your head that does not.
Yours is a good idea, but until someone makes it happen its useless. -

Yes I agree with your pragmatic perspective too, but I'm also enthusiastic that if more players shared that enthusiasm and it communicated with CCP, we'd convince them--it worked for titans, dictors and other positive changes in the last eight months.
Wish me luck. ___ Junkie Beverage: i use your tears to cyno in my laughter

One of your own (in alliance 'Corp 1 Allstars'), '8 D' to be exact, lost a sabre recently, final blow by a NPC, however the majority of the damage was inflicted by my hyperion... I havent checked just yet, but im yet to see that killmail show up anywere..
People do it, for a number of reasons, I'll openly admit ive not posted a number of lossmails because ive forgotton about them. Killmails is a different story, because everyone nags you to post them so they can get their share.. ---

Just started getting this tonight:
Warning: fopen() [function.fopen]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in .../freeekb/mods/feed_syndication/settings.php on line 34
Warning: fopen(http://tomx.org/feed/version.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in .../freeekb/mods/feed_syndication/settings.php on line 34 Home Kills Losses Post Mail Stats Awards Search Admin About Administration - Feed Syndication v1.5Cant retrieve version information from: http://tomx.org/feed/version.txt
It appears tomx.org is down, which may be the source of the problem.
I commented out lines 32-41 on settings.php to deactivate new version checking, and it appears to have fixed the problem.
