Drone Avionics is 5000 and Advanced Drone Avionics is 3000, and the base range is 20km. So your range would be 54000.

Sure you do, but it's a highly variable number that depends on all kinds of things so there needs to be some way of knowing what it is under these particular circumstances, whereas DCR is a highly fixed and invariable number that's easy to memorise across all your ships. Stats are something good. EVE is popular with its spreadsheets, no need to calculate everything in the game, I think CCP can ease us on that one.
