Edited by: DarknessInc on 16/12/2006 09:48:32 Okay. So I bought a NEW pilgrim. And a new Cov Ops cloak (I miss when they were 50M each)
Also, this is going to be working in a Recon TEAM, meaning I will not be solo. <.< I forgot to add that
Highs: 2x Dark Blood Medium Nosferatu (15KM)
Drains 57.6 1x Dark Blood Medium Energy Neutralizer (14KM)
Drains 288, takes 153 1x Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Mid: 1x 10MN Afterburner II 1x J5 Prototype Warp Inhibitor I 1x Tracking Disruptor II ( no faction version) 1x Cap Recharger I 1x Ship Scanner I
Low: 1x Medium 'Accomodation' Vestment Reconstructor I 1x N-Type Adaptive Nano Membrane I 1x True Sansha Energized Magnetic Membrane 1x 200mm Reinforced Crystalline Carbonide Plates I (might swap this for a T2 version) 1x Co-Processor II
and now! For the budget
Pilgrim = 85M Cov Ops Cloak = 77.5M N-Type EANM = 4.44M Tracking Disruptor II = 375k 2x DB NOS = 118M 1x DB Neut = 20M and the rest
Final price for buying (bought like 75% of this stuff)
362,893,850.01
Sooo! How do you think this setup will work out. Im gonna be tweaking it, and yes I have T2 drones, and soon will have Recon lv4 in a few days ( ^_^ YAY )
So, experienced Pilgrim pilots, tell me what you think (i need to get a nice 20Km or 15KM 2 pt scambler. Which appears to be a Hakim)

I don't fly a pilgrim just yet, but just looking at it, it doesn't make a whole of sense and your going to cry when it gets blown up.
Maybe use 3 Nos instead of Nuet but Nuets fine if your skills are good and you know what your doing.
Id drop the ship scanner and the cap recharger (or at least use t2) for another tracking disruptor and a web.
lows: t2 rep, 2 EANs, dmg control. t2 CPU if you need it.
just my 2x tho. this will keep it a little cheaper and it will be more versatile. With just an AB and no web stuff will get away from you still and you might as well use the ship bonuses fully.

ship scanner? hakim warp disruptor? cap recharger I? OMG dude sort those 3 out. for a start check the fitting on those kinf of scrams. tbh i don't use a propulsion mod on my pilgrim as i fit a web and i'll only be decloaked when i'm within web range anyway.
highs look about right.
with ur lows i'm surprised u need the co proc, pls tell me ur gonna fit a better rep than that, and a 200 plate on a cruiser is pointless imo. u gain a tiny bit of hp for a very important slot.
u can fit an 800 plate on a pilgrim, medium t2 rep and decent mids with same highs as urs.

Edited by: Ice Globe on 16/12/2006 11:16:28 Why fit a ship scanner? You cannot use it whilst cloaked, so you might as well put something useful there so when you do uncloak you can actually kill something.
Don't fit a cap recharger, you have nos! Just deactivate the neut if you run into cap problems, and besided your in a gang, so your prob going to gank the target within a minute.
Repper, n-type and plate need to be much better. Get t2 of each and try getting a 800 plate, as 200 isn't doing much for you.
Also why have you got a kinetic membrane, the pilgrim's weak spot is thermic. ______________

Ohh well. I was throwing stuff on her at first. Im not done tweaking her, and her lock range is 114KM natural, so I was thinking of warping at 100KM, scanning something at 100KM, warping away, cloak and then return if their setup can be beaten by me

Ship Scanner ftl, you don't need it to know what a person is using. A simple look at will do to determine min/max range and amount of NOS and I guess whichever FC you're flying with does not have his gang members do resistance sitreps.

Quite frankly this setup is terrible. Don't fit a cap recharger on a Amarr recon. Use your nos/neuts for what they are made for. To totally pwn his cap and make his tank not work. (If you're going to use a cap recharger on a ship like this, at least spring for a cap recharger II)
Your high slots are fine, but your mids and lows make me want to cry. Get rid of the ship scanner... please. It won't do anything for you. Put in another TD II to help with turrent boats. Hell, put a multispec or sensor damp in there... but a ship scanner won't help you at all. My mids would look something like this: 3x tracking disruptor II 1x 2pt warp scrambler 1x 90% webber For your lows, I would want to start with a MAR II and not bother putting a 200mm plate on a cruiser.
Your tactics are laughable. I would not stick around long if I saw a pilgrim checking me out. Just engage any turret-boat you can get your hands on.

Personally, my strategy would be to stay in nos range. You are going to wtfpwn their cap really, except for nos boats like vexors, domis, and myrms. Ginaz had a really good video about crusing around in a Pilgrim a while back, and his setup looked pretty good (although it was before the ECM 'nerf'). I would recommend watching it a couple hundred times... plus it's a good vid (dunno where the vid is, perhaps eve-search can help).
I would say that your strategy sounds much more like what you'd want to do in a curse... I'd much rather uncloak in web range, web them, and see if they can hit you. If you can get an 800mm plate on there and a hardner or 2, I would think that you'd be able to tank fairly well, even if they can hit you.
I think you'll be killing cruisers very quickly, because they are not going to have any sort of active tank running within 2-3 nos cycles. You don't have that much range to play with, so I would just forget about trying to monkey around in a 1-2km range and just let them try to nos you back. Anything other than a Vexor in the cruiser class will not be able to out-nos you.

In a 1v1, those faction modules will give you the edge... But in a group - you don't need that extra a few percent, you have multiple ships.
BTW - anytime i see a pilgrim or a curse, i pop the drones, being minmatar means no need for cap to pop them - but trust me i will keep my scram going during your NOS breaks. Dont spend this much money on a ship that relies on drones or you'll just hate yourself when you pop (your drones all long dead), albeit 20 seconds longer than youd be with T2 or named gear.

XD No CAP for minmatar ships means no Scambler, and with no scambler 1v1, I can warp out, cloak midwarp, and Im safe to limp off to get new drones
but its not a NOS focused ship. The NOSes are going to fuel the NEUT, which'll remove the Cap in the ship faster than the NOS will
but even if I am in a group, I would like the extra edge. Plus if I ever return to pirating, I can run this 1v1 versus most Battleships and lower, except Missile Boats. <.< Missiles < Pilgrims/Curse = Death.

now we're talking. new setup looks great. i personally still prefer 800 plate and 1 medium rep setup as with ur neut and only 2 nos u may struggle to sustain a twin medium rep tank. not sure on that tho haven't done the figured. try it out with a friend and see how long ur cap hold out.
also when ur opponents cap is gone ur cap runs out quickly so exrta hp is better than rep amount with no cap but both work well.

lol the Reps arent supposed to keep me alive, just keep me alive long enough to kill their cap/tank, kill em, grab loot, cloak and warp out. Maybe even stick around and wait for him to get his stuff back, pending I leave 1 item for him to recover

1 j5 scram 1 fleeting webby 2 Balmer tracking disrupts 1 painter (CPU issues better than nothing)
1 small rep t2 1600mm tung plate n type thermic and Kin hardener 1 EANM t2
Give's 7500 HP not bad resists as far as pirating goes wot do u think?
I cant take off the 1600mm plate fit a 800mm plate then fit the medium rep, like i said this ship has CPU issues so i went for the most HP which should keep me alive long enough to kill anything i decide is wrth having a go at

Good Setup - would go for a 800mm plate tho

Quote: wait. Ive changed my entire setup also. with the purchase of my Smoke Screen Cloak, I freed up ALOT of CPU for fittings
you have too much money and not enough sense. train recon 5 you idiot, you then have NO cpu useage of a cov ops cloak, and it didn't cost you stupid amounts of isk to do it. also if you kill your targets cap you can't drain any to sustain yours, and if he's minmatar or caldari (ie 50% of your targets) then you will die anyway.
the warp disruptor keeps him out of webrange, yes but his web does not... and why have a web and not use it?
currently i have;
3x E50 NOS 1x Cov Ops Cloak II
1x 10Mn AB II 1x Fleeting web 1x Fleeting Progressive Warp Scram 2x Balmer Tracking Disruptors
1x Med Arm Rep II 1x N-Type Kinetic Active Hardner 1x N-Type Thermic Active Hardner 1x 'Refuge' Adaptive Nano Plating I 1x EANM II
the resists are pretty high on that. no armour but then with the resists that should make up for it.

ummm.... no this setup is alot cheaper and much better
3xMed Nos (faction is overkill) 1xCovert Cloke Named 7.5km scram, 2xTracking disrupters, Caldari Racion ECM Injector (beleave me it is needed you will suck them dry but against ships that can do capless dps you will need something to support your tank while you finish them off) 2xMAR 2xRefuge Adaptive Nanos 1xPassive Thermal
but tbh this is for solo work, pilgrim isn't for group its a solo ship if you want group fly one of the other 3 recons

14Km Web > 10KM web (All T1 Named & Unnamed are 10KM)

Im not a carebear. I DO carebearing, but I also have PvP experience and pirating experience. Plus Faction mods are there to be used. :) not just looked at.
And Im not BSing about PvP experience. One of the largest battles I was ever in was the V2-VC2 Assault in the dieing days of Huzzah <3

You sir, are a typical example of a carebear with no idea what you are talking about.
Also the way you write reminds me of a 15 year old.
There have been several very competent pvpers here telling you decent setups, which you happily ignore. People who have fought in the ship many times, successfully.
Yet you keep on insisting you know better and how much you are going to pwn. Fact is, you have recon on lvl3, and you have 0 experience whatsoever with pvping with this ship, also not a great deal of experience with pvp in general.
Just a small tip, the moment your enemy's cap is dry, so is yours, since you get cap and run your tank off their tank, meaning if they have more residual HP, they will kill you.
Also, a lot of people use cap injectors in pvp, your setup will easily die to a pvp fitted drake, and most minmatar ships, and no, your 2 tracking disruptors will not pwn medium cruiser sized minmatar ac's. Also, it's easy to keep a scrambler running, even if you are being nossed dry, if you have half a clue about pvp.
There's no need to give you any setups, it's been done already, Agent2 Holtze's is pretty much perfect.
Also, as previously said, get rid of the faction nos, they are pointless, anything with mwd will be in range of you anyway, and you /want/ to be close with a pilgrim.
Also, if you have a lot of isk, instead of investing into useless faction modules which have fancy names and make you think that you will be "uber" at pvp, buy a talisman set. It will most likely provide the largest advantage when flying a nos ship.
Good luck.

RAWR I HAS FANGZ
Far to harsh.
To the OP - Fly an Arbitrator. It seems you have alot of cash, and a good bit of intrest in burning it. The fact that your original setup was just so god-awful is proof you're not ready for the curse\pilgrim. Unless you're rolling in so much cash that the loss of a fully faction fitted Recon ship is nothing but a drop in the bucket, please, fly an arbitrator for atleast two months straight. I'd really hate to see all that faction gear go pop to a newb mission runner in a drake.
My opinion, take it or leave it

1. fly an arbitrator 2. train recon 5 3. Now fit the pilgrim with t2 and pwn harder
The pilgrim becomes an entirely different boat with recon 5 |
