It was probably that which made a lot of ASCN think at the advent of this war that BOB was actually 'beatable'. I certainly did and so did many others we where filled with a giddy expectation that BoB would end up messed up. Handling G/IRON/RAZOR this time last year with some modicum of success & flourish probably fuelled the Hubris that ASCN had in this war.(ASCN>IRON&co>BOB) I think somewhere along the line : 1)ASCN perhaps declined/ lost some good players especially HC and FCs. and/or 2)BOB improved/gained some good players. 3) server stability ( I hate to mention it because it sounds rubbish but the servers where far superior back in those days compared to the early days of this war and superior servers means larger offensive less skilled groups are more effective.) The endless rounds of 70-0 battles made a lot of people lose faith. ASCN early battle in gq2 etc FC: okay jump in.. FC: okay everyone log out 2nd Dude: Don't worry the node went down you'll get refunded 3rd Dude: The node isn't down you won't get refunded. FC: okay don't log back in yet. Random Dude: *** ** In short: (Bob vs ASCN) crap attacking FC * poor server * huge numbers= disaster. (ASCN v iron/G) ok-good FC * good server * huge numbers = success even if its pyrhicc(sp??) Theres no excusing the FCs after they proceeded to do this a number of times. I listened in on a few of these battles and packed my things and left.
