Agreed, no offense to anyone, but as an eairler post indcated, it would end up being won by more expirenced pilots from the alliances. Flying cheaper ships, using well developed tactics to obliterate "noobs" till they face each other in the later rounds.
As a year old player the idea of a corp tourney is very appealing, if i am to matched against equals, both in equipment, and expirence. If I am to be facing the same "pros", with the same support, that exists in the alliance tourneys, there is little incentive for me to bother trying with my small team and our invisible budget.

It's simple LeMonde can go through the listings of who entered the last Tourny, make a list of the corps and anyone on that list gets banned, there is also the alliance list in the EVE-O website anyone on those lists is a no go to. but the corp must have running for at least 3 months. Full Stats

I don't know if this has been said or not already but heres my idea...
Why not set up several leagues with promotions and relegations and allow any isk level to be used as in the tornies.
That will also allow all the leagues to be set out into respective skill and isk levels to each corp or alliance that wants to take part. ------------------ Ka-Tet alliance Diplo

Sounds good, Think t2 ships should be allowed, because some t2 ships do things that no other t2 ship can do so keeping all the ships wil make the fights more interesting and not jsut a boaring predicatiable fight.
Couple questions though. How do you know that that a person is not using Pirate impants. Also if you can not use implants I would think alot of people would not get involved because they don;t have access to jump clones and already have pirate implants implanted.
Also what about rigs. I think they could make the battles very interesting but if the cost thing is an issue these are currently expensive items however not that hard to obtain.
last question is the size of the arean? Just now sure what it is or what it will be. 30-60 KM? 30 km seems very small to me.
I just think battles need to be interesting and the more rules that are put in place the less exciting they will be.
Dynamic Endeavors is now Recuiting.!!
Contact me in game for deatails about the corp. Mostly a PvE corp, with Jump clones avaiale in Empire and 0.0. |

One question is how would you enforce a ban on pirate implants if you don't have the means to easily check up on it? One of the reasons quoted for leaving them in for the third Alliance tournament is that with current tools it was impractical to check player compliance before each match.
A workable set up for a given match match would be three pilots per side, points scaled to match. Any pilot that had been a member of the corporation at the time that registration for the league began should be eligible to compete in any given match. Do not announce the exact start of registration in advance.
Rather than disallowing faction ships, tweak the points for faction frigates and cruisers so they are more expensive than the T1 equivalent, but less than the T2 hull.
Think very carefully about the electronic and cap warfare rules. Ideally, you will want to create a tactical environment where missiles, turrets and nos+drone strategies all will work well, with no automatic "I win". Don't be afraid to create a more rigid environment for the corp league, and use the data gathered from running it to decide on whether or not to loosen the rules for the next alliance tournament.
As the good folks at Amarillo Design Bureau will attest, balancing a tournament is a very different kettle of fish to balancing regular gameplay, and a lot of how they do it is to analyse past results and use the information to inform them whether or not tweaks to the tournament rules are needed.

Just my opinions...
Starting range 30km. Shorter range means nosfest 24/7 and longer range huginn+raven and nothing else. 30km gives huginn+raven lineups chance to keep range, nossers a chance to move closer and blasterboats to charge with MWD.
Tracking disr+damps allowed or no EW whatsoever. ECM is just a doomed idea for a piloting skill tournament.
No logistics bots, banning them was definitely an improvement from the second Tournaments logistic-fest.
Ban pirate implants+hardwirings of all sorts. Even with hardwirings it's possible to spend 1b+ and gain advantage with isk.
The signup fee for the Tournament was a good idea... implement it here too to reduce forfeits.
Oh, and on a more level battlefield I see no reason to ban tournament pilots from participating, they probably can't use their expensive jumpclones and CNR:s "to gain unfair ISK advantage" anyway. I might be slightly biased about this question tho :p
Get EveTV involved, please. They have done a great job with the Tournaments and broadcasting Corp League matches would be a great addition :)

Corps in Alliances or corps who recently left an Alliance should be banned from entering but I doubt it will happen.
I wanna see the proper solo corps like snigg, burn eden, outbreak etc not a repeat of the alliance tournament except this time they dont have alliance tags.

Originally by: Levicus After watching the previous tournaments, I would propose a "Wallet" form of tournament.
1.) Each corp start the tournament with a 1B "Wallet" (entry fee)
2.) Corps must completely outfit their team (ships, mods, rigs) by buying them from a specific NPC station with controlled prices.
3.) After the battle, the losing team is removed and the winning team is awarded a cash prize based on the equipment of the opposing team (what they would have gotten if they had looted and sold the other team's mods).
4.) The winning team then advances to the next round, but must resupply any losses from their wallet.
5.) Raise the player limit to 10 members per team and allow anyone in the corp to fight, not just the same 10 every time.
This would completely level the playing field in terms of resources and add a dimension of long-term strategy in terms of equipment use and burn rate. A corp that blew the whole wallet in the first few fights and suffered some heavy losses might find themselves in the latter rounds with only enough cash to field a frig fleet. Upping the player limit to 10 would open up *world* of new strategy (especially with regards to fleets with smaller ships) and allowing the corps to field *any* 10 players and not just the same 10 every time makes the whole thing much more accessible to the average player.
This is simply a brilliant idea so gets a big QFT from me

Sounds like an awesome idea tbh...
Some restrictions in fittings & implants is necessery though, as well as restricting it to non-alliance corps.
I doubt that if it lasts for several months, any Alliance-Corps would bother to drop out for such a "long" time just to participate. Siganture removed due to profanity - Serathu ([email protected]) |

Its not simply the alliance or allianceless corp, its the fact that if you allow all corps, what stops Evolution or BDCI, Shinra etc to join it?
To have an exciting tourney you dont want to see an 80-man corp living in empire fight a 450-man corp living in 0.0 having multiple billions due to Crokite-mining (uhg) to blow on such a tourney. Siganture removed due to profanity - Serathu ([email protected]) |

Uhhh.. WHAT? :D The whole League is probably going to be with faction ships, implants and hardwirings banned, so where exactly is evil Shinra going to put all their crokite isk? If your corporation can't afford 5(ish) t2 kitted battleships/hacs/BC:s then maybe you shouldn't even consider joining the league.
Nobody will just want to see 80-man empire mining corps fight each other, I think the very idea is to see how corps(to steal your examples) BDCI, Evol, SNRA etc. do as a corp, not alliance, going against each other. I am quite sure you will see some surprises.

I dont think the intention of such a tournament is seeing the same Corps we see in the Alliance Tournamet fight each other, but rather the smaller pvp-corps of which there are plenty out there, but which cant participate so far due to not being in an alliance.
This tourney is supposed to last multiple months as stated by LeMonde, so you might wanna redo your maths of 5 tech II fitted BS, you need that for 1 fight.
Neither is this a problem for my Corp, not for 1 fight nor for the whole tournament, but others dont have the resources to compete with alliance-corps.

To speak on the size issues...
Limit participation based on some fixed size. It shouldn't matter if you're an alliance or not. Only the ultimate size of the largest in-game defined entity which you are a part of should matter. The same should be true, obviously in reverse, for the larger tournament.
There are plenty of corporations whom are larger than many alliances. I don't believe that small alliances should be relegated to only play in the big leagues. I also feel larger individual corporations should be allowed into the high-end tournament too. (If they aren't part of an alliance.)

After thinking about it a bit, I think I am going to change my mind slightly. A smaller entity should always be allowed to move up a category at their discretion. (Perhaps after proving themselves.) Larger entities should not be allowed to move down though.

Edited by: Trevedian on 01/01/2007 21:21:53 The Corporation league idea looks good on the surface, but;
1) Since the PVP Alliance Tournament has only been happening ever 6 months or so it allocates lotsa time for ppl to get ready for it. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas if it happened every weekend... One reason ppl take the tournament seriously is because it happens over 2 weekends twice a year, NOT on a regular basis.
2) If your team fought on just a random weekend with no one wathing, I fear many teams would have ALOT of no shows...
3) Imagine teams having to fight in the corporation league while they are on a contract or in 0.0, they may not (many aren't prepared for the alliance tourney as well i realize) want to or be prepared to fight in their league matches.
In short, the corporation league would get more people involved probably, but what corporation with any decent PVPers can't actually round up 1 billion isk to create an alliance? IMO this would water down the competition just to let corporations with no legitimate shot at winning compete.
I just fear people won't be excited about the Alliance Tournament if its a regular thing, the fact that it comes along only so often is part of what gets people excited about it...

simple entry free 500 mil isk, which you get back if you turn up for all your fights

if you enter a team that team must make the time to get rdy, if it mean they have to spend a few extra day preping so be it, the CEO must understand that and if they don't, don't enter

there is onlt one way this can be done for 100% no cheating, only 1 member of the team can purchase items for the rest of the team, and you would have to seed the market in RU-97T the sys where the tourny will prolly be held.
Reasons for this are, if you price items in the station in empire lower than the rest other ppl will buy up the stock, making it so only team members can buy from that station will take to much time for the GM's, on the other hand if you price stuff to high to stop other ppl buying up the stock teams will buy the stuff else where as they can get it cheaper, ie they might have there own T2 BPO for some mods, it's simple rly put a cap on mods, ships and implants no faction, no cosmos, T1 and T2 only if anyone if found to be cheating, the hole team is out and they dont get there entry fee back. Not sure if anyone has already said this idea but meh ill say it again cause its good lol.
I totaly agree with banning Faction modules and all that I think T2 should be aloud but maybe not T2 ammo just so ppl dont insta pop but im no really fussy bout that.
But I think maybe T2 ships past frigs should not be included because to be honest a nighthawk or a cerberus is a hell of a skill train I mean ur hardly new to the game if ur flying around in a nighthawk and dont mind losing it. Wat i would like to see is a pyrymid kinda fight.. ill explain basicly i would like say 1 BS, 2BC, 3-4 cruisers then say 4 destroyrs and maybe 4-6 frigs. The numbers can be played with but i think i fight like that would be good i mean ppl will get more use out of the frigs and destroys at the moment there very underused it haveing nearly 10ppl on a side also means that alot of the corp would get to have a go and compete but im not sure maybe 10v10 might lag to much but i just think this would be intersting and would be more like an actual fleet you would see in say the navy. In EVE today most fleets are just 20 BS's and 5 interceptors maybe a dictor as well it would be nice to see a fight that was more realisitc and based around strategy.
Like to attack there BS or to hit there support first like i said im not sure how this could work or even if it would work but it would be nice to think about. But im sure the guys organizing the thing will do a great job they always have so far

This is a totally awesome idea. I have been looking foreward to a tourney like this for a long time (since the first alliance one.) The biggest thing I'd like to see is that any alliance member corp is disallowed from competing. I think the idea would rock, saves people having to start thier own alliance in order to take part in the big tourny. thou i think that the corps that are involved in the corp tourny should not be a part of any alliances, in order to keep things at a more level playing field. i agree with not allowing the faction ships, but maybe allow faction mods, mainly cause it is posible for the average player to come across those.
got my vote. :)
