So how does Eve win "Reader's Choice?"
Wouldn't their "Choice" be the game they were subscribed to?
All I gotta say is, "How much did you pay MMORPG.COM to give you the award?"
Eve is the only game of its kind, thats why it has as many subscribers as it does, it attracts sci-fi geeks like myself, I just don't like Fantasy, sword and sorcery sucks, I loved games like Deus Ex, Fallout, and System Shock and yes I remember playing Elite on my Commodore 64.
But I'm not gonna pretend Eve is anything close to a polished game, because it's simply not.
Eve = Awesome concept crappy implementation

Any what are all those fanboys doing on mmorpg sites instead of playing the game they claim to love so much?
Or are people just logging in to set skills and going off to message boards to get their entertainment?
Cipher, not all 7 million WoW fans read MMORPG.com.
And if a person does not vote, then they have no voice. I can think of quite a few liberals who hate Bush and that he lost to Kerry.
And none of them voted (not that it mattered, their state still went to Kerry).
The readers of MMORPG.com had a chance to vote.
Of those readers, the majority voted for EVE, end of discussion.
Also, once you've trained advanced forum whoring to level 1, you can play EVE AND troll various forums. When you train it to 5, you start believing in little blue robots that are extremely annoying.

Whats the story in WoW?
WoW completely ignores the Warcraft backstory, so don't give me any of the WC 1-3 garbage.
There is no story to WoW. It's alliance vs horde, the end. You don't have factions fighting over this or that, you dont have risk, you have lots of grinding and a reward which gets ninja looted like crazy.

If you cannot answer yes to any of these questions then you fail at understanding what roleplay and story in the context of an mmorpg mean. As i said above, the whole backstory of eve could never have existed and BoB would still play exactly the same. You can have all the player-made story you want, but if it does not interface with the backstory then BOTH have failed in the scope of an mmoRPg.
You're failing to realize RP is more than what a company makes.
to the person who said we have to be in someone else's story to be RPing I ask must know something:
Are you a pod pilot in real life? do you fly spaceships? Do you use ISK? No? Didn't think so. You're playing a role, and if we use your definition, You're just playing raceX, as a person plays an Orc in WoW.

Or try that exploration complex the guy found the other day that instakilled nearly his entire gang.
You can tank a 10/10 in a pure tank non-capship, those exploration sites seem like you'd need an officer fit CBC to have a prayer.
Or a frigate.

No story in Wow? YOU MUST BE JOKING
Eve is better than WOW in the long-term, no doubt about that. However, WOW has in-game books all over the place, where you can read about the (fairly interesting) story of the lich-king, the scourge, how the night-elfs came to be etc etc they've even got RL novels written about it FFS. Eve has a couple of sparse stories here and there on the forums, but compared to the in-game fiction of WOW it severely lacks. Most of the best stories have been player created - there is nothing wrong with that, but as the owners of the Eve universe CCP could do A LOT better at explaining to us how we got here, into this Eve universe.
Eve is great but lets get things into perspective, yeah?

We didnt rig anything, it was the READERS choice awards. So it was based on what the readers thought. Not to say that the readers knew what they were talking about, only about what they thought was the best game.
