Hi there! I have been working on a mini-faq about the Empire High-Sec aspect of POSes. It's not yet complete, but a friend with the PDF convertion tool was available now and he may be drunk tomorow so, I'm posting what I have ATM.
It's is not intended to be a complete guide for everything, just the High-Sec stuff that people keep asking on the forums. For the rest, there are a few very good guides out there, stickified and all. No need to duplicate.
I will be adding more questions/answers soon(TM) like:
* Concord protection stuff * Tips to get the fuel * some more things...
Comments, corrections and constructive criticism are welcome.

Very interesting facts indeed, though I knew quite a few of them already
IMHO, however, it`s only reasonably feasible if you have some very exclusive BPOs....

Few missing/incorrect details for your draft Shameless:
FAQ 4: Standings are not bugged, but they are displayed after social skills. POS anchoring depends on standings before social skills. Show compositions displays standings before social skills, thus why it is used to determine if you have sufficient standings.
FAQ 10: Hi-Sec POS's can also anchor assembly arrays, for instance Large Ship Assemblies can be anchored in 0.5 and below. It doesn't save minerals but it has a mod on time so that using this will be faster than building from an npc station manufacturing line. I admit it's not horribly useful considering the fitting req's, but to each his own, it deserves mention. I believe t2 production is also done at POS's but I'd have to check the item db for any sec level restrictions.

maybe add something about what happens if your corp standing goes below the required level again (aka nothing)...
Someone wrote in another topic
Quote:
After my corpmates rejoined the corp and standings went down the drain I kept the POS running, offlined/onlined modules, unanchored/reanchored modules. I even move some things around to make the POS look pretty. The only thing I have never done is to unanchor/offline the tower itself.
It's been said that as long as you don't un-anchor the tower you are ok.

I have no idea, but I do have a silo few jumps away from my Hi-Sec POS. The only thing that survived my Low-Sec Moon Mining Adventure :( . I will make a test and let you know, will also include it on the FAQ. |

Corp standing changes are calculated at downtime. They slowly change towards the average standing of all your corp members. Slowly here is defined as one forth of the difference between your current standing and the average standing.
Daily Standing Change = (Average Standings û Current Standings) / 4
Shame this isnt working right now. I want to put up a POS in a 0.5, my corp has 3 members and compositions are 7.8, 7,74 and 5.14. The last 5 DTs have shown zero increase and its really beginning to **** me off.
Had a similar problem a few months back and it took ages to be resolved. Point is this feature just seems broke half the time and you need to constantly submit Bug Reports and petitions to get it working again.

Same here - quit corp and started up new to get station. Standing increased 3.65 points 1st downtime, and then nothing for the following 2...

To Marena Bijo & Avaleric:
1st, make sure you are looking the standings with 'right click >> show compositions'. Or check your standings with an alt (not part of the corp).
If that's not it...
2nd try doing a storyline mission.
if that doesn't work...petition it.
Last time I did it, the numbers in "show compositions" were raising, but the other one kept showing the same old standings with no change at all. And I also was doing at least one storyline per day.

Thanks for the response Avenger. Yea I've looked in the right place and been doing missions. It was after reading your FAQ I was sure it should have been increasing, regardless of whether I missioned or not. Anyway I've submitted a bug report and will maybe petition when I get on later.

It wouldn't take much ISK to buy ALL the reasonably priced available charters in a region and either double their price or just sit on them)

You need to amend this a bit. You can rent Lab slots but only to a person's alt who becomes a member in the corp. That alt is given limited rights and access to one lab modual and their own personal corp hanger. (How this is actually done I'm not sure. I had this same arrangement with R0me0 before we had issues.) (click his name)
Maybe he will grace us with his presence and tell us how this is done.

Yup, I didn't mention the storyline thing on the FAQ and it should be there. I will add it on the next update.

For clarity, I will change the question to "Can I rent Lab Slots in my POS to the public?". The answer is still no.
Renting slots to corp members may be posible, the interface is there I've seen it but haven't test it. I don't see it as a good idea anyway because if somebody queue a job for 30 days, then cancel it, the slot will be stuck for 30 days unless you offline/unanchor/reanchor/online the lab, effectivelly messing up all other jobs in that lab. |

1) I haven't go through all the requirements for the different POS structures. Some may require an upper level of the anchoring skill but the thruth is I don't know. I am in the process of making a list of all anchorable thingies, to list what can be anchored where. The requirements for the anchoring skill is gonna be a column on that list.
2) Last time I got charters from an agent it was a lvl 4 and he gave me charters for the whole month. But that's changed now, the rewards are cash-only. I'm buying them off the market. |

About the frozen corp faction standing: It is just a display bug. Check the corp standing with antother char, and it is just as it is supposed to be.

I've checked with character inside and outside the corp and had friends check. its not shifting. If there is a display bug going around maybe I'll try putting up a POS anyway and see what happens.

Would you mind just copy and pasting the information into a regular post like most people do, instead of requiring us to download a file on a non-CCP affiliated website? Thanks.
And thanks for taking the time to write a guide and post it here.

Try useing Foxit Reader to view the file, mutch faster and eaiser on the cpu then the defult adobe reader. You might have also got a bad download (rare but it happens). Just try redownloading it. -------------------------------------------------- EvE is a sand box. Is corp standing calculated on the basis of ALL corp members, or only those with a non-zero standing toward the relevant faction?
I have a nine member corp, but when I look at the standing compositions, usually only one or two members are shown (ie, those with some kind of standing already).
If only one or two members seem to influence standing toward a particular faction, then will I be able to achieve the necessary corp standing by just improving those corp members' standings toward the relevant faction?

Everyone has non-zero standing towards every faction as soon as they do at least 1 storyline mission. For example, a gallente gets a gallente bonus, a derived smaller bonus to minnie and derived negative modifiers to caldari and amarr standings. Thus it helps to be "racist" in the beginning when you want to set up POSes.
As for the display bug.. when you're not in-game, go to your EVE install directory and delete the directory "machonet" (it's in the cache subdir). The game likes to show you age-old cached values for some reason.. This also helps speed up game boot-up as it just creates a new machonet cache folder instead of dredging up all the cached old erroneous data from it..

Right, but several corp members have not done any storyline missions for any faction; in this case, because they have no standing, they will not be counted toward the corp average standing, correct?
