In high sec, the POS can only be set to shoot if attacked or to shoot war targets. If a neutral warps in, nothing will happen to him.
Can confirm that, warped to someone else's pos in a 0.6 and the guns didnt shoot me, but i was unwilling to lock it and see if that caused the pos to shoot me as was in a expensive ship. So does any1 know if locking a pos is a form of agroe?
ATM, locking alone, nope. Shooting of course, yes. But with changes comming in and out, test in an alt with a rockie ship before risking anything expensive. |

An LSAA- Cannot "now" be anchored in greater than 04. Pre-kali you could, so there are some pos's in empire that have this capability. They are used for cap ship production, the dreads and carriers. Freighters can also be built in them but can also be built in stations, so why would you.
Towers- remain usable even if your standings drop below the required level for your pos system sec. I can confirm this as I have dropped to neg 1 for pod killing a greifer that killed me with a BPO on board.
T2 research- You need to have the required research data bases, reports, consumer electronics and data sheets in the lab division that your print is loacated in, in the lab division that the print is loacted in, in the npc station. Don't research anything without the remote research skill trained.
Copys- That you make from your bpos get delivered into the lab at the pos, not the npc hanger your print is in.

IÆve been raising the standing on a few corps now and have noticed some things about how the corp standings rise.
The most important thing is that faction standings at the corp level are still limited by the derived mods cap. The interesting thing about this is that the derived mod cap doesnÆt act as your new high standing number. Instead the standings increase along the same curve as your base standing to that faction, but stop at the last increase before hitting the derived mod ceiling.
For example say I have 9 to Amarr and 7.35 to Caldari. If I make a corp and only do 1 Amarr storyline, the corp standing will increase Amarr up to 9, Caldari will use 7.35 to determine the daily standing change but since 7 is the highest standing that Amarr derived mods will take Caldari standing, the corp standings freeze at the last DT before the standing equals or exceeds 7. (i.e. Caldari standing would increase as such: 0, 1.83, 3.21 (every corp IÆve done has jumped straight to this 2nd day number after the first DT), 4.24, 5.02, 5.60, 6.04, 6.36, 6.61, 6.79, 6.93, 7.03)
Now once it reaches 6.93 it just stops. It doesnÆt slowly inch up to 7, using that for the calculations, it just stops.
So if youÆre shooting for multiple faction POS level standings you may need to do a storyline for each faction, depending on the specific derived mods caps and what your needed standing is.
The other thing IÆve noticed is that sometimes corp/agent standings from my roster are added to the new corp, even though I didnÆt do anything to activate them. Some I did do a mission that day before joining the corp, some I simply accepted and declined a mission, and some came outta nowhere. (But if I want the standing for the corp and donÆt do anything that one never shows up of course.)
Also once the corp standings are active, it doesnÆt seem that members need to do anything to add their standing to the calcs. When I left my corp in the capable hands of a new alt, my corp picked up their standing to the tutorial +10 agent. IÆve also seen that happen with other corps IÆve done. If the corp has standing to a corp that I also have, and I join it raises those corps even if I didnÆt activate them. But they donÆt pick up all my corps/agents. I really have no idea whatÆs going on with that part, as there is very little rhyme or reason to it.
I would be interested if anyone knows a little more about how memberÆs average standing is calculated and implemented. I assume that itÆs just a flat average. The corp standing could be calculated though either by using the average for the calcs, or acting like derived mods, and using the highest standing for the calcs, but cutting it off at the average like the derived mod ceiling (thatÆs what IÆm leaning towards).

EW modules require Anchoring L3
Standings - looking at your own standings through the corp tab will often show an incorrect amount - use an out of corp alt to look at your standings it will show the correct value.

aggro Testing of 0.5 sec POS:
out of Corp Alt in a Rookie ship locking the POS -> nothing. Firing a round at the POS -> it starts webbers, scramblers, disruptors and ECM.... missiles and turrets are going pew pew. -> Concord shows up and want me to hand out my driver licence
Works all well.
Thanks again for the great guide you shameless Avenger, yours Woodhead ;)

Well I am reviving my old corp and all my friends are joining it. We were all going to do Caldari Navy missions (for insance I have 2.23 standing with Caldari State while one other corp mate has 3.0) and try to bring it up to 5.0 or higher so we can plant a lab POS in .5 system or higher.
But after reading the guys post above it doesn't seem to quite work like that. I was thinking of having this one guy who charges 200 mil to start a new corp and he will get faction standings up to where we want and then we join.
But me and my guys wanted to all just grind Caldari Navy missions (we are all lvl 4 agents) until we got our Caldari State faction up. Anyone have any idea how long it would take for us to be able to plant a POS in a .5 system? Taking some of our already decent faction standings into account? Would it be better to just have those with higher Caldari State standings join first and do the missions or will it matter if I had all my guys join corp?
Help, I am totaly lost and at work so I don't have time for the math or anything lol.

Maybe you can make a temporary corp for your mission running time ( to play together). after one player has a real standing (before skills) of 5.0 and above you can found your permanent corp with this character. Then wait arround 5 days that the corp standing is slowly coming to the 5.0 needed for a POS in 0.5 sec System. Then you can anchor your POS. Other players with faction standings of 5.0 and above can join, sure. When the setup is ready other players can join ...
Or: Join all the Corp and go mission grinding. If the best players hit the standing above 5 then other with lower standings should leave. You have to wait for the Corp standing to rise like above, but it can go faster. That depends on all players actually in your corp. After POS setup .. the other players who left can join again.
Nice fueling, Woodhead :)
Edit: Better have more than 5.0 faction standing with your Character. The daily Corporation-Standing increase is better.

I don't know if this helps, but I can safely say that you can only anchor Reactors (both types) in 0.4 sec and lower.

IÆve tested and confirmed that deleting the MachoNet folder in the Cache clears the standings freeze bug. I donÆt think IÆve seen anybody say that theyÆve tested that out for sure. It only updates it for that day of course, you have to delete the folder the next DT to get it to update again. I think itÆs easier to just look at it with an alt.
Originally by: Patchnotes Corporate standing takes low standing members into account.
This is the thing that IÆm wondering about, it doesnÆt say æno standing membersÆ, so itÆs possible that extremely low standing members werenÆt being counted as well. Patchday will tell.

Hockston,
That MachoNet folder discovery is indeed new. I haven't seen anything about before. I guess we can call it the Hockston's MachoNet workaround. Good job!
About the patch notes, yeah, I saw that too and I was wondering the same thing. By low standing CCP means people with zero standing? Guess we gonna have to wait until after the patch to find out.

Wonderfull FAQ, thanks a ton. It does appear that the formula for corp standing adjustments may have changed(with last patch maybe). Formed corp last night before DT, personal standing with Minmatar was(still is) 5.15, I am only person in corp, so using your formula, corp standing should have been (5.15-0)/2 = 1.2875. Actual corp standing, after one DT is 2.25, which is what I had figured as standing after second DT. Has anyone else noticed a change in the wya corp standing is figured/adjusted recently?

Hello,
Nice work and good guide for the POS High Sec.
However, I would like to reconsider a point, not very explicit for me...
Quote: 11)How do I research my BPOs at the POS remotely? You need to train ôScientific Networkingö. It allows YOU to be away from the BPO and the Mobile Lab. ● The BPOs must be placed at Corp hangar in NPC station in the same system at the POS. You canÆt remote research from your personal hangar, needs to be corp hangar ● Your BPO canÆt be on a different system. It needs to be in the same system as the POS. Only YOU can be systems away from the lab, not the BPO.
So, if you put the POS in a system without any npc station, it's impossible to launch a research ? (exemple, the BPO is at 1 jump at the POS in the corp hangar)
Secondly, if the BPO is in POS's corporate hangar, is it possible ?
In fact, I intended to install a pos this week, in a system deprived of station, therefore I will wish to have a little explanations.
Thanks a lot.
Sharwyn.

You can only sec a high sec POS to shoot war targets and/or on aggression.

Greetings. Great guide.
I am having difficulty allowing my alliance members to successfully research in my corps Hi Sec POS. The alliance members have an office in the same system as the POS, but they receive an error msg (which I don't have readily available). Has anyone else been able to successfully allow alliance members to use the lab's in a hi sec pos, and if so, how did you set up/permissions and roles assigned, etc..
Thanks so much, -bC

Edited by: Robacz on 28/03/2007 13:12:39 I tried it with a CEO of allied corporation and research works with T1 BPOs (they must be in NPC station with allied corp office, in allied corp hangar).
However I think it isnt possible to do any research jobs where items besides BPO are needed - Tech2 ME/PE research and Invention. Even though POS has set everything to "Alliance", no one besides members of owning corp can access labs. I also tried to anchor structure withing alliance POS with another corp and it also doesnt work (again anchoring, off/onlining rights set to "Alliance").
I think the alliance POS sharing is either very buggy, or not fully implemented. However basic researching should work. Just make sure you configured your POS to allow jobs on Mobile labs for "Alliance" (not "Role" or "Corp"). It is in Management menu of POS tower.

Q: Ok so for standings someone leaves corp/alliance, gets their standings, sets up the POS etc. if that corp now joins the parent alliance can anyone else from the other corps now manage the POS, fill it, research in it, all those roles?
Thanks!!

Alliance members can fuel the tower but access to labs for take is broken (according to DEV response to petition). This means any research requiring materials cannot be done by anyone except for the owning corporation. T1 works fine. There also appears to be a bug with alliance copying. It will allow you to put the job in, but when delivered the copies are nowhere to be found. Most likely related to the broken take access.

Question... My corp has been steadily raising standings now for the past 2 months, combined corp standings are @ 5.38 but that is under show Composisiton. If you do a show info on our corp it show 4.40, and has been that way since 05.18.2007, and hasn't updated. Our Corp goal is 6.35 for where we want to put the POS up but how come CCP hasn't upadated our Corp standings since mid May i thought this stuff was updated every 10 days max? Can anyone help with a suggestion, before i petition the issue?

Besides keep doing storylines and cosmos missions, if it doesn't work, petition.
Something else that do help is when one member is dragging down the rest of the corp standings. But I have to warn, I'm not sure if it's an exploit. You get the member to a missioning hub and he will start taking missions from different agents. Then different members of the corp meet with him on the starting points and go ahead to do the missions for him. The more people doing this, the faster standings will rise for that member, therefore for the whole corp. |

FAQ 3: Anchoring 2 and 3 are required for deploying defensive and offensive mods.
FAQ 4: Although standings can display incorrectly when viewed from inside the corp, the correct standings of your corp are always displayed to outside the corp characters that info your corp and look at the standings/liked by tab.
FAQ 5-7: When a new member joins an existing corp to raise its standing, he has to complete one storyline mission for his standings to affect corp standings.
FAQ 15-16: If you have access to ice field close by you can cut the costs in half by ice harvesting. Perfect refine/ice processing is a must and a sizeable gang or this is going to take a long time.
FAQ 18: You can "rent" to alliance corps, but any job they do that has input materials must be put by you into the input hangar at the POS. and any job with output materials will get stuck and a GM must be petitioned to retrieve copies, invented BPCs, manufactured items made by members of other corps within the alliance.
FAQ 18: Many research corps that do research for others pay a collateral on BPOs they research. Usually not more than 80% of the unresearched value of the BPO, to ensure that the client will buy it back.
FAQ 19: Minmatar and Amarr Towers can have 2-5-10 mobile labs per tower depending on the size. Gallente and Caldari towers can have 3-6-12 mobile labs because of CPU bonus. It is hardly feasibly to train advanced lab ops 5 for the 11th slot per character. In the same time you can create 2 research alts and train them up to 10 slots each. So a feasible max per account is 30 slots.
FAQ 22: If you have a freighter, all problems with hauling fuel even long distance are solved. You can bring 2-4 months worth of ice products per trip depending on your tower size.
FAQ 24: Atm do n ot set your guns to attack anyone, not even war targets. If your POS starts shooting at war targets the can retaliate and CONCORD wont intervene!!! So until there is a "fix" no defence is better than some defence.
FAQ 25: Rapid Assembly Array is very useful in high sec. Especially if you are inventing. If your BPOs have perfect ME there is no additional waste and there is a 35% reduction in building times! It can build T2 components. The 20% extra waste really hurts on invented BPCs however. Advanced Medium and Small Ship arrays would be useful for building ships if they had more than one slot. As is, extra 10% material cost is not worth 25% faster building times.
FAQ 27: If your standings are just above 5, running storylines (for example the COSMOS missions) will hasten deployment by days. if you already have standings of 8 or more each storyline (even level 4) will have minimal effect.
FAQ 28: Revelations 2 will bring major changes to how POSes work. New arrays like jump arrays and controlable guns outside the shield.
Hope this helps Aykido.

Or do we have to unanchored all POS and dock them.
