As somebody else asked, lets see some statistics.
How many motherships have ISD given away? To whom were they given? And who was privy to the event in the first place? I've been trying to get a mothership for months, and it really ****es me off when I heard about nearly secret events that were CLEARLY intended for one alliance in particular that result in VERY valuable items being given away.

I don't nesiccarily agree but it IS a fair question. The balls in ISD's court but I highly doubt there will be any more noise from them
Would love to be proven wrong though.

Why on earth would ANY 0.0 pirate faction HELP the people who shoot them EVERY day in the belts?
Yea I never did understand that part.

As you can see this event was not nearly as secret as you think. In fact, with it beeing announced publically i would even say it was the opposite. The mothership was not just given away, it was a competition that required logistics and effort. Oh, and the competition was open for all.

Maybe this is a good time to also repost the link to our FAQ Thread, it answers the basic questions of where to look for events.

Reading the Intergalactic Summit forum is a good place to find events too. ___

Well I dont know if your giving these things to all your alliance buddies or not. I do know one thing though is that you do a **** poor job of letting corps in regions where these events happen know about them. I browse every board on this forum at least once a day and rarely do I see news about them. You guys might wanna rethink how you put out information about these because a lot of people dont seem to be getting it.

Ok, so you had a "competition" for a mothership which would cost approximately 5 billion ISK with delivery to a particular 0.0 location in Curse. How was that not a setup for those who live in and around the area to win? Remember this was during the bookmark era so not everyone had equal opportunity.
I believe that Silvero's comment in that thread sums up the problem in the specific nicely. Pretend you're unbiased all you want but until there is some accountability we don't have to belive you.

We mostly dont preannounce events, simply because of the ammount of people that would show up. If you consider that we field on average a fleet of 10-15 people imagine how much fun it is for everyone involved in the event to know where they will be and when and then to jump in on them with the motherload of all fleets. Sure, if you like that.. perfect. But it surely doesnt leave any place for a story unless all you want to tell is how a group of actors got utterly pwned. If you want to give the story some room to maneuver, some time to expand and to flourish you get a lot more out of it. The events we do with factions include patrols, scouting, simple RP in local with role playing characters as well as asking players that our characters have gotten to know as trustworthy to help them in some tasks. These tasks are sometimes preannounced to those that have proven to be not only trustworthy but also interested in the story more than the loot. If all you want is loot you can always go chain some NPCs.

It was an Angel Cartel event. They live there.

That thread only adds more fuel to my argument. I wonder if M corp even had to go to empire to fill the order? Or did they perhaps already have everything they needed in system? My guess is that they had to move everything less than 1 jump since there was a large LV contingent already living in that constellation.
ISD: proving once again that its not what you know, but who you know.

It'll be fun when I get some people into ISD.
ISD representative> What kind of stuff do you have around the hanger? Shamis>I've got a ton of trit, and a bunch of warp disrupt probes and a huge stack of angel tags. ISD>Cool, we're planning an event that might just require those things, and it might even be in your system, keep an eye on the events forum. Shamis> thanks, I like free stuff.

Ok.
Let me make one thing absolutely clear here. ISD/Aurora has more accountability than you can even *think* about. Our activites are activly monitored by CCP on a weekly basis - Only 6 people in Aurora can spawn equipment and those people are audited by CCP to see what is being given out, to who is being given, where the events are being run. On top of this we liase with CCP's content department to ensure events are happening as they wish. Just because you don't *see* accountability, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
You can always tell who the people are who aren't suitable for ISD - because they fail to comphrehend why someone would give up spare time to assist others in a game. That's fine, however you only degrade yourself by making *unfounded* accusations. Please, if you have proof of any abuse - send it to either Galen/Myself, or if you don't trust us kieron, or an exploit petition - Take your pick.
Spread your little rumours all you want - The intelligent people amongst the forums realise that CCP would not allow cheating to take place - either from ISD or CCP staff.
