I've still got 2 bill invested in EMFi, but actually I always considered ISS exposure to be risky - and was looking towards AATP as a better investment. Still, same with stocks as with ships: don't invest it if you cannot afford to lose it. If anyone wants to buy me out @5k (~200,000 shares) then send me an Eve mail :).

I wouldn't be surprised if 60-80% of EMFI shares are actually held by people (in)directly involved in these attacks, that is why I am not so sad :) Also it didn't help that someone defaulted a loan with EMFI that was secured by bilions of ISS shares @ IPO value. :) We will be OK, AATP is doing awesome, BMBE is doing awesome again... it will pick up... Overall I've probably lost around 1b already on EMFi shares I've bought and sold in the past as the price has dived quite a long way below what I paid for them (the cheapest I bought were at 12k during the IPO). Mail me in-game to arrange a chat about a possible sale. I might be on later.

Have the shares held in EMF been traded for the offered ISS shares? And does this help the situation at all, I realise there will still be some large amount of red in the books, but surely it might help put things back on track.

The ISS trade of shares still leaves a nice gaping hole. Based on the last publicly published EMFi portfolio the following losses due to the handover is -27,720,000,000 isk. Cerwyn Taraman Minmatar Phoenix Tech Industries Apoapsis Multiversal Consortium	Posted - 2007.02.28 19:50:00 - [78] Edited by: Cerwyn Taraman on 28/02/2007 19:47:26 Seems like if after converting them to ISSO shares there is still question of strength of that investment (there is in my opinion), EMFI should ditch those shares and move the assets into more diversification of the portfolio to prevent future issues when an investment goes belly-up knocking the whole portfolio down so much. Now, I always viewed the ISS Outposts as a fairly safe investment as well and lost a couple hundred million isk personally from their demise, so I guess i'm the pot calling the kettle black here. However, it definitely has taught me to diversify more and now my EVE stock portfolio consists of over 15 different stocks.
