Some of us may know that LV are to a degree helping out the Melstromm Buddies near catch try to keep their outpost. In fact, they contributed heavily to the dread kill yesterday. Little is known about their motivation. As far as we know, they've never come to help their friends M before. So why now? To help them save outpost? to help them save POS? to help them save face? No, none of these. To kill dreadnoughts, and weaken TCF and co. BEcause once Melstromm are dead, it's one less pesky buffer alliance between the oncoming horde and LV borders.
Be careful if you ally with LV, they don't have your wellbeing in mind, only polyticks

If you happen to have guessed the truth here, so what?
LV will do whatever is in its interest. I don't see the problem with that, unless its a jab at e-honour?

Right, there you have it -M-, better start hating LV for bringing in help right now! They are ONLY after dread kills and in the end everyone should be able to survive on his own vs multiple alliances anyways you know. Thats why you don't need friends and coalitions in this game I guess. No wait, there are no friedns and coalitions with common interests, there are only big alliances with small alliances as meatshields... Damn, politics seem so easy now, thx for your help.

OMG your a genius, of course we do not want the enemy hordes closer. The reason we have not been able to help these chaps out earlier is cause we were assisting other alliances.
M were in trouble and we came to assist, we were very impressed with thier organisation and willingness to defend there space. TCF, RA, goon fought a good and brave fight and the system eventually fell. Don't come on here sounding like a bitter child, it leaves a bitter taste.

Now that I more clearly understand poly-ticks, I can see why Maelstrom would want to reject an offer of help from LV. Obviously, Maelstrom is being tricked into holding their own stations against a hostile force, something they'd never choose to do had LV not forced the decision upon them.
Seriously, OP, dubba-ewe-tee-eff?

Yes, like us. I saw Maelstrom always as close to LV and friends to the whole coalition in the past. So about the OP being surprised ... I would have been rather surprised, if LV wouldn't help. edit: Well, maybe I am wrong. Someday maelstrom was there and blue and I thought: Ok, new freinds of LV in da house. HEHE.

LV helped in Scalding Pass, because that was the main point of interest. For LV and also for us. In the end we got overrun and honestly a lot of V had probably already enough of this war for months, this war was going for over a year, you know, that's why some corps had left already long time ago and why we were defending there sometimes with like only 30 V during the night, when our POS got attacked.
When 1v got lost, the motivation of the alliance was almost down to zero, we really had problems to get anything going, corps left etc. and what you met in Great Wildlands after that were the remains of a once strong alliance. At that point LV couldn't help us anyway anymore, they had to go on with their fight against RAGoon.
-V- got defeated and broken in Scalding Pass, not in Great Wildlands. Sorry, to desillusion you. When we appeared in GW again and Seraphin and all the others left/had left, were about to leave, we were already at the bottom. Now we try to recover und build-up again.
Sorry, this wasn't a V topic, anyway. lol

GW is NPC 0.0 space also known as '0.0 for beginners'. Why do we need to help V clean out IMP from there they are not claiming space just using a lawless version of Empire, 0.0 on easy mode.
All our Allies have the support of LV pilots and we will help whenever and wherever we can.
It should not be a suprise to anyone LV has stepped up to assist their allies.

Melstromm, who is this alliance, where is it based, and can I sign up?
LV gave Maelstrom the oppertunity at 0.0 space, when none others would even take us seriously. We did not have the PVP ability, or the capital ships, nevermind the numbers.. to successfully attack and conquer our own 0.0 space. We knew what we were getting ourselves into when we dropped this outpost, and to be frank.. we've not done a bad job since then.. its taken 4 to 1 odds to destroy our deathstars.. Its taken active players from TCF, Goonswarm, RA, UNL, Roadkill and Smash (on the first night) to keep us down in the timezones when we have the fewest people online..
All this to kill a mostly Industrial Alliance?
I'm proud.. how far we've come in such a short period of time, this is the first time our players have had to actively defend against a serious threat to the outpost, and we've done our best. I cannot ask any more from our member corps.
A previous poster mentioned you do not start strong.. IMO its true.. only through experience, organisation and constant support for our growing and learning members can we ever hope to learn from this siege.. and actually hope to fend off something similar in the future.
Personally I will always remember the hospitality from LV, the oppertunity we've been given, and although I knew we were not ready for such a challenge we went ahead anyway..

Don't get it what you mean with instrumental. Maybe I should read all posts again. Thing is, LV,V,Chimp started a war against RA in a partnership. You know V was stronger, Chimp was stronger, LV was not as huge as they are now, they were building up with the corps that left the 5 and coming back south.... And after one year with a lot of things happening, our home Scalding Pass turned into the main battleground for RAGoon. After months, all the other bored alliances appeared on the field in Scalding Pass, too. We were worn out and when the RA+Goon+TCF+IMP+IAC(?) blob hit 1v and conquered it, our resistance in Scalding Pass was broken. That's the whole story how I see it. Anyone who isn't clueless in this conflict can correct me of course. That LV was in Scalding pass to help us was natural, we would have been helping in their regions, if thing had come different.
