Does anybody know if there is a corp in EVE that only consists of RL female players? or a corp with only female avaters?

Not sure if there is a corp for it, but I think there is a channel for it. I dont know the name of it though. Maybe someone who knows who to contact will post in this thread.

She said the second option would be all femal avatars, so I think there's an element of RP here. If she just wants to play the game with RL girls then poo on her, I think that's ridiculous. We have 3 or 4 girls in our alliance, 2 of which I know are very active in PVP and are always on vent. ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. It's so easy a Minmatar could do it. |

Don't even know anymore. Does any one remember that ghey, lez, and tranny chat channel thread that started off as "Good for you!", "Awesome!", "Cool!",And then ISD said trolling this thread will get you warned (apparently its 100% ok to ***** jokes at heterosexuals but everything else is taboo ) , then it turned into "Why are you guys segregatting yourselves unless you just want to cyber with each other or something ", Then the thread turned into "What about furries" and why are you guys hating on beastiality!
Then some whole word filter conspiracy arised out of it. That thread was nutz

It was mostly just because I was curious... there seems to be a lot of female avaters. But I read some place that there are 95% RL male players and 5% RL female players in EVE. Then it is interesting to note that in the overall game statistics 62% are male players and 38% are female players.. Would be fun to know how many EVE-female avatars and how many EVE-male avatars there are...

According to their description, they require a TS/Vent verification that you're female before they accept you.
I've spoken with a few of their members before. They seem like a decent lot.

Most MMOs you'll be staring at the backside of a character for hours. I'd much rather stare at a girl's ass than a guy's ass.
Now, here's the real question: How many avatars are female achura? 'Cause the Male Achura looks stupid.

there's more girls than you think. Not much more, but at least a little. Not all of them want everyone to know their a girl or most don't care enough that they tell everyone. Have you ever been on TS when the unexpected voice of a girl arises? It's sad how a TS full of males reacts and all of a sudden that girl is a director and people toss isk at her, only talk to her and no one else. I mean, i would bet if every other male player stopped trying to get them in bed over the internet it wouldn't be the same.

I think one of the reasons there isn't that many female players (yet) is that it is quite difficult to get in to this game if you haven't played a lot of mmo's or computer games before. You need quite a lot of pre-knowledge to not feel completely lost in the beginning! I think the game could benefit with more female players.
But I'm curious - do the male players in EVE want more female players? Because to get more, there would properly have to be some changes in the learning curve, since the female gamers don't have the necessary experience in computer games... yet! (Hopefully the younger generations will! )
Well, I donŠt know of only girls-only corps (For a short time I was looking for one myself but then figured that there is no real point in doing so...) But I would disagree with the statement that it takes a change to the learning-curve of the game to attract female gamers. I did play some games before eve, but not to that extent and certainly not such complex games. But hey - I didnŠt get more discouraged than male players do at the beginning. To be honest I found the remarks on the learning curve and such rather...how to put it...insulting? I think that the reason why there arenŠt too many female players (even though we donŠt really know how many there are - I have met quite a few out of WGoE myself) is that there arenŠt as many people as in the big games anyway. There might be other reasons, but personally I donŠt see them, because girls like a good challenge just as much as guys and not every girl is into pink fluff. Oh, by the way - I wouldnŠt consider myself unusual in the sense of being more geeky than other girls or so. As a matter of fact IŠm terrible with technical stuff, but there is nothing one canŠt learn if you want to

This might happen, but it certainly didnŠt happen to me. I was a manager in my old corp, but IŠd like to think that it was because I showed some dedication and that I could achieve things. It is also a common misconception that girls get hit on all the time and given stuff and such. While this would be possible to achieve if one wanted it to be that way, it isnŠt something that just happens because of the female voice.
Yes, there is a little flirting once in a while but thatŠs more within the boundaries of bantering. Yes, I got offered ISK when I lost ships but from what I could see the guys do that for their male corp members aswell (besides - I stopped accepting such offers. Live and learn from your mistakes. A good lesson hurts your pride and your wallet, so I remember the most painful lessons for the rest of my eve-career, IŠd think )

This is the real issue preventing more widespread acceptance of MMOGs among women. Less "omg a gurl! Let's cyber, k?" please. Back when I still played WoW with my fiancee, I couldn't count how many creepy obsessive types professed their undying love for her after a few weeks of hearing her speak on Vent, starting in with the PMs trying to 'get to know her' (i.e. confessing their entire life story and fishing for attention), and acting like she belongs to them (including ****ing matches with the other stalkers). She's wonderful, I certainly love her, but these creeps don't even know her, and it's gotten to the point that she's wanted to just quit the game before and spent a lot of time hiding on alts because these guys are doing the whole "Nobody loves me, I love you even though I don't know you, please say you love me too or I'll go kill myself" thing.

Of course I like girls. I also like champaigne, caviar, and driving a Lexus.
But for the purposes of Eve, there are no genders only Business and War.
This is a poor choice for someone just looking for a "game."
Its not a "game" so much as a hobby, like maintaining a website, its alot of work but its fun work for those who are nerdy enough to appreciate it.
Unless you are a total sci-fi nerd, space nerd, math nerd etc, most likely you will simply balk at the learning curve and it will not be fun.
Heck I'm a space nerd, I thrive on this stuff, been playing for over a year now, and I'm still learning new things almost every day.
Thats part of whats so great about it, that its deep and rich and complex.
Of course I want more women playing, but not at the expense of dulling the luster of Eve to attract them.

I agree with the points that gender doesnŠt matter in Eve and that it is more of a hobby than just a game. But I donŠt think it takes sci-fi, space, math or similar nerdiness to like it. I am into none of those, but I am a competitive person and love the scheming and plotting part of Eve.

From my experience the whole girls get promoted/have isk/special perks thing is a myth. People say this but I have yet to see a valid example.
I have heard a few horror stories though and names have been added to my "to pod" list. It's pretty easy to filter out the boys playing as girls by asking a few pertinent questions such as:
What movie is Johnny Depp cutest in? and So what brand of lipstick do you think is the best?
Best advice I can give female gamers is to find a mature corp. There are plenty out there and it's doubtful you would get any hassle. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels - Devil (mods@ccpgames)

100% agree. Ive been seeing a larger insurgence of women playing EvE lately. Been in for nearly 3 years now, and have probably met at least 20 RL women in the past 2.5 years, some of which actually play men to avoid the harassment. Just in the last 3 months our corp has actually recruited 5 RL women. What draws them in?
Having a husband/wife duo as CEO is my best guess. It seems the female species is more attracted to the social aspect of the game, not the lure of PvP, 0.0 mining or more pew pew (at least from our paticular case). Its a very interesting trend. I think the gender gap, although larger than alot of other MMOs (For instance WoW, DAoC, and GW) is steadily narrowing.
Even though a healthy community of corpies tends to be more favorable, I would be very interested if in-station walk thru would help add to the appeal of RP and socialization to the next level.
*Oh, and BTW, Jenny Spitfire has the ins and ins with women gamers. Where is she...

Why dont they (ccp) do that?? Thats very good idea!
To take it even further: have them feature an article on female gamers or whatever in the same issue...you know - in cosmo you have the "Yes, IŠm hot, IŠm independent and IŠm a gamer" Special issue including 10 tips on how you can look fabulous for work while waiting to dock in Jita plus 20 ways to hook up with Achura men. In Shape all they need is the "Shape your butt while hauling" article.
Yes, that is a very good idea I think that would be great - really dont se why thay havent done this yet??! (have they?) Maybe you should just write it and ask them to print it!

Girls in eve You can get girljerms and get fatal illness I heard. So i always keep a good distance from them . Eve is all about manlove, or atleast for me If IŠm now looking for girljerms I take it out at the university, where they spawn at a scary rate. Boys grow up and be muture
Girljerms is more lethal then a fleet of 1000 Tempests Yeah IŠm nude, IŠm a swede and IŠm armed with bad jokes

Why should it have consequences? Women are just as intelligent as men and with a bit of patience many should be able to grasp Eve's concepts, many already have. This game needs more females, it's unbalanced. I think walking in stations is a step in the right direction tbh

Yes there are a few. Hard to find as they want to keep their pirvacy. We had 5 female players in our old corp at one point so there is a base (fyi female player make excellent corp admins. Generally take a little longer to develop into pvp'rs but are fearless when developed). When the female corps are recuiting you will start seeing female based questions being asked in local its a good filtering tactic. Just go out to main market areas and post questions that 99.9% of the male players will not be able to answer (i.e. stocking size to weight). They will then find you screen you to verify you are female and it goes from there.

to be honest I find eve strange sometimes because of the lackof females. In my DAoC guild we would form groups (8 players) and most of the time have at least 3 girls. In eve I have only ever been in a gang with 1 fem.
I think the whole space ship thing is just not as appealing to girls more than the learning curve being a problem - which I think most girls would take exception too :p ---------------------- Pointless forum slowing bandwidth hogging signature pic inc? |

Feng woke up, once again, in a tube. The blueish ectoplasm permeating his skin, like usual. "Those gd fracking pirates... 120 million isk gone," thought Feng as he was gathering his thoughts, still dazed and confused from the mind link.
"Feng, please forgive us, There seems to have been a malfunction with analyzing your genetic makeup this time.. There must be something wrong with this Amarrian DNA decoder that was sold to us.," said a hoarse voice hrough the intercom.
Feng started to notice something very odd, and strange, about his body. He had been in plenty of clones before, but somehow, this one felt... different. And then he knew...
"WHAT THE FRACK DID YOU DO TO ME!", screamed Feng, as his perception of reality flew right out of the window.
Once a proud alpha male from the Brutor clan.. now reduced to a Sebiestor female, Feng swore upon his fathers, that the Amarrian that did this to him would suffer a fate more terrible than being hunted by Slaver Hounds; even if he had to kill every Amarr in the galaxy.

The real question is: Why is there every three to four months such a topic?
Cant you find enough women in RL so that you have to look for some in a MMORPG? Its really weird, there are some really nice guys (that are used to me writing lots and lots and lots.. communication ftw ) and there are other, less nice guys, thinking that they are the best and i should date them. *grin*
Perhaps, if its not that sensation if a girl plays a MMORPG that is based on PVP you would discover more of them here. In the end, we are all playing the same game, perhaps with different RL skills.

Only problem with having girls in your corp or alliance is that if you're like me you always let them get the last hit or the pod. And of course if they scream help you send the kitchen sink, not some n00b that just joined up 2 days ago ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. It's so easy a Minmatar could do it. |

Erm. I think the point is that women don't want insane discrimination in game? Good or bad, that is. Just treat women in game like any other pilot - its not like you are going to score, anyway. -----------------------

Because to get more, there would properly have to be some changes in the learning curve, since the female gamers don't have the necessary experience in computer games... yet! (Hopefully the younger generations will! )

..I see nothing wrong with manners changing in the presence of a female. Happens everyday and it damn well should.
It's not that anyone cares what the girl or woman in most cases will think numbnuts, its that I and WE or I probably don't feel comfortable discussing who we boned last weekend and what a **** she was with a girl with us on teamspeak. Why? Because first of all, I'd feel like a jackass and secondly I'd embarrass whoever the girl on TS is. Thirdly, she probably just flat out doesn't want to hear the discussion. So ya, of course how you talk is affected by your environment on TS just like it is in RL. Would you talk around your grandmother the same way you do to your friends?
Hey grammie, I'm gonna go get wasted on Jagermeister and red bull tonight and then get laid by some ho from the bar. Isn't that awesome?
And its not like he was hitting on the guys daughter, he was intentionally being an ass to her, was asked to stop and continued being a smart ass.
I have no problem bull****ting with guy friends about all sorts of stuff on TS, but when it comes to having girls on there, I'd rather not say some of the "Standard" stuff. Mostly because you don't want to **** off a girl. ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. It's so easy a Minmatar could do it. |

The average female has a much dirtier sense of humour than the average male, IMO. Dunno why, but on average the girls I know have far smuttier minds than the guys.
Guys don't think that way, though. at some level, we're hard-wired to be cautious and respectful around the womenfolk... Probably as a result of millennia of slavery.
EDIT: you ever notice how you see lots of guys playing female characters, but almost NEVER the other way round? (unless you're playing Guild Wars).

Are you serious? What rock have you been living under? One of the oldest gamers in this game is female - a grandmother I believe, of around 75 years old.
IMO you should go away and do some research then come back and post when you are properly informed.

Last I heard, women-only corps in Eve were struggling due to a number of imbalanced in-game features:
* When using the "repair" function in stations, the station manager would look their ship up and down, make a sucking noise through his teeth, then lie about the fix price.
* Factory slots did not have a "call Daddy for help with assembly" option
* Map always opened upside down for reasons that were never fully explained
* The Autopilot refused to stop and ask for directions
* Scotty the docking manager would get impatient and stand scowling at the hanger door with his coat on when pilots could not get ready in time
* Ship names and classes were deemed to be too complex, with no option to change them to "green ships", "grey ships" or "big ships"
* Stargates had an annoying habit of "jumping out right in front of you"
* Despite a lot of sweet-talk and promises, the majority of PvP encounters were over far too quickly...
