6x Heavy Neutron Blaster II
1x 100mn AB II 1x Fleeting Web 3x Cap recharger II
2x LAR II 1x EANM II 1x Thermal Hardener II 1x Kinetic Hardener II 2x CPR I
Ogre II's, and Bouncer I's as the main drone firepower. Tanks most mission types (e.g. Amarr/Caldari Navy, Rogue Drones, Guristas, Serpentis, Mordus, Bloodraiders, Sanshas) with no problems - swap out a CPR for an Explosive hardener II if facing Angels.
With Cap rigs you can also make it truly sustainable, and perhaps dump one of the CPR permanently...

This is what I use when I need quick ISK on my domi in empire:
6 x 200mm autocannons to pop frigs (fusion, emp, or phased plasma depending on NPC's) or 4 autocannons and 2 tractor beams, but i can't use tractor beams.
5 x named cap rechargers
2 x LAR II 3 x specific T2 hardeners, or some combination of EANM II and hardeners 2 x named cap power relays
Cap rechargers and cap relays to suit your cap skills to allow running the hardeners and reppers full time. I use F-B10's and Mark I, just the bare minimum I need to keep it cheap and running. Play your cards right and research a mission before doing it, and you'll have no trouble solo'ing any level 4 in very respectable time. Afterburner is nice for those ones with 100km between gates, but I don't like having to cycle a rep so I never bother.

Rigs : 3 X Capacitor control circuit I Low : 2 X LAR II, 4 X specific hardeners II, 1 CPR Middle : 5 X Cap recharger II
the 2 lar and 4 hardeners are sustainable (i activate them all at the beginning of mission and dont give them attention before everything is dead), so my highs are now : 3 X small tractor beam I, 2 X Salvager I, 1 random laser turret to get aggro.

This looks about right, except go with 250mm rail II's instead of blasters (they still hit small ships and take out the cruisers better, which tend not to get so close). I would also go for more hardners instead of cap power relays in low. ie: 2 LAR II, 4 t2 hardners, 1 1600mm plate (for added time to kill things and get out if things aren't going so well).
EDIT: it doesn't really matter what you do with the highs in a domi. If you want to loot faster or try to kill things slightly faster. Just make sure to have the tank right & enough cap rechargers in the mid slots so it is sustainable and you should be fine.

EDIT: To get you started with missions pecific hardeners, Rogue Drones: 1 exp, 1 kin, 1 eanm Angel: 1 exp, 2 eanm Serp: 2 therm, 1 kin Amarr: 1 em, 2 therm Guristas: 1 kin 1 therm 1 eanm (i think, dont remember) Zor: 2 therm, 1 kin, 1 exp (come in at extreme range to a bookmark and cycle second rep, make zor die first, shut down decond therm hardener once he pops)
With all T2 mods, those combos will handle any mission as long as you control aggro and range.
I have next to no experience with projectiles So I don't know how they perform, but wouldn't it be quicker to aggro a group with some long range turret and use medium drones to annihilate the frigs before they get to the ship as opposed to letting them get close enough to scramble? Do the autocannons make a big difference?
Does that setup have enough armor to act as a buffer or enough rep'ing to last long in any of the more unpleasent level 4's?
I ran some tests with Quickfit and with T2 cap chargers, 2 T1 cap rigs and a nano pump rig the dual rep tank can be run forever without the CPR's allowing for a total of four hardener II's as well as a 1600 plate. Boosts the price quite a bit though.

HI: heavy nos, drone link augmentor, 4 either heavy neuts or 250mm rails,
Meds: 3-4 cap rechargers, 1-2 cap injectors with 800 cap chargers
2 LAR(t2 if possibe), 4 various resistant mods, mission specific, 1600 plate.
5 small, 5 med, 5 large, 5 senry drones
Drones are very important for a domi, for sentries stick to wardens, they have a nice range and damage type, the rest swap per mission to match the rat weekness
a lot of the missions you can kill off the spawns with the sentries before they even get to you, speed isnt important for a domi, mostly i dont even bother with an AB
you could skip out on the 5 med drones, and just use large drones to kill the cruisers and above, but if you have a spawn where rats orbit you 20k or more the large drones take forever to move from one target to antoher. Soar Angelic Forums

TBH dual 250 rails might only be worth it when using t2.. If you want to use dual rep setup you'll run into fitting problems .. Also most people I know tend to kill so fast with drones they can't be frelled to actually activate guns and such..
I totally agree with the 'when i'm not using guns with bonus i might aswell use projectiles' however most gallie people will have hybrid trained up higher and the cap use can be overcome on a domi.. still I'm training projectiles.. the no cap stuff and high fall-off sound pretty good for drone users..
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me.. Drone guide.. |

2x Drone link augmentor 2x Heavy Diminishing Power Drain 2x Dual 250mm Railguns (Prototypes or T2's)
Med:
4x Cap Recharger II 1x Omnidirectional Tracking Link
Lo:
4x Rat-specific T2 hardeners 2x Large Armor Repairer II 1x Beta Control Reactor: Capacitor Power Relay
Rigs:
3x Capacitor Control Circuit I
Drones: Hammerheads, Ogres, and Wardens
With one armor repper and no NOS running you actually gain cap with this setup... with the NOS running you gain it even faster. You can run both reppers with the nos for a loooong time... enough to reduce the DPS of almost any blob to a managable level.

Fact : those things are probably the worst Large Hybrid turret there is, and they eat a lot of powergrid ... Electron Blasters can do the same job (pulling the aggro in missions) AND free up enough grid and cpu to really go bonkers with the tank.
Personnaly, I would'nt fit Nosferatus on a mission Dominix, NPCs don't need their cap, and they don't regenerate it ... you'll get at most 3 cycles of a NOS before the NPC is completely dry, not enough juice to be usefull.
Here's my setup, works well for me :
HIGHs : 4x Electron Blaster I (still need a few days for T2), 2x Drone Link Augmentor I
MEDs : 5x Cap Recharger II
LOWs : 2x Large Armor Repairer II, Damage Control II, 4x T2 hardeners (usually one active and one passive against the two damage types of the mission, or a mix of EANMs and Explosive hardeners for the angel/drone missions)
RIGs : 3x Capacitor Control Circuit I
Dronebay : a set of 5 of Lights, Mediums, Heavies and Sentries of the appropriate type for the mission I'm doing, plus 4 armor repairer drones (1 heavy, 2 mediums and 1 light) for the rare case when I need to repair my combat drones during a mission.

I use:
2x Heavy NOS 1x Tractor Beam 1x Aggro gun 2x True Sansha Large EMP Smartbonb
5x Best named / Tech1 Cap Recharger
2x Large Armor Repairer tech2 5x Active Hardeners, dependent on enemy
3x CCC Rigs
Because of the rigs, the 2 reppers can be run forever (needs maxed cap skills) Nos are just there, because I could, rarely even use them.
I only use large and small drones. Most interceptor npc's are coming inside smartbomb range (not all though) so I rarely have to even use small drones. Regular frigs are no problem for Ogre II.
I do not use guns on it, because I do just not feel a need to do so. But I got Drone Interfacing V, Gallente Battleship V, etc etc -- Paxton Industries Recruiting.

1 agro gun, 3 salvager, 2 tractors
5 t2 cap recharchers
2 Lars, 3/4 active hardeners 2, 1 EANM 2, 0/1 dama control 2
2 ccc rigs, 1 armor ammount rig.
Can perma run reppers. While killing i start salvaging right away while drones kill the rest. Two flys with one smack ... as we say in danish

I've found they last longer than 3 cycles for sure when nossing battleships, and they also lower ships' repair cycle chance and therefore frequency. With maxed out cap skills, the nos prolly isn't necessary, but with low-medium cap skills they're helpful in my experience.

Since I was attacked in a complex once I set my Domi up for PvP. I'm not giving you my complete setup, you can think of a good PvP yourself. But yes, blasters II and e-war mods are part of it, best AB you can get, same for LARs. No mission specific hardeners, but protection, which will help me against Pie-rats. I have yet to test this...

Well, I had maxed my cap skills before flying my Dominix, maybe that's I've found the NOS so ineffective ...
And yes, I should have said something about the "size" of the NPC you try to NOS, that "3 cycles" thing was over-generalization on my part.

Sustainability: you can run everything and keep them running forever pretty much... until you have to repair then the SB and Repper have some cap consumption issues.
Resists are all over 60 if you go multispectrum on their ass. the armor is over 18k with the armor rig and the 1600mm plates, but you could swap out a plate for a DCUII and have 13k armour and better resists. my drone skills arnt brilliant but just swap for tech 2 where appropriate.. i use a wide range for the simple reason of needing faster drones when bored or impatient.

I donÆt know what some of you guys are talking aboutàöDual 250s suck.ö ôDual 250s use too much power grid.ö
I only have AWU 3 and I can fit the following:
Hi 5x Dual 250mm Prototypes / Tractor Mids 2x Optical Tracking / 3x CR IIs Lows 2x LAR II / Beta CPR / 4x T2 rat hardeners Rigs 3x CCC
I can practically perma run everything. The guns get a 20% dmg bonus with my lvl 4 BS and I guarantee this setup will finish missions a lot quicker than someone using NOS, medium guns or only drones to kill with. With rigs in the game there is absolutely no reason to fit NOS in the high slots unless youÆre short on cash and canÆt afford the CCC rigs.

are you actually suggesting like a fool that its better to use hybrids on the domi than drones, with battleship four you also get a 40% increase in drone damage, plus with a good tank you dont actually need to be at the comp to see all those cruisers and BC,s pop like a marshmellow being sat on by a fat kid... the domi really isnt a rail ship especially not for PVE for PVP then hell yes go for the hybrid set up assisted by drones for pure insane DPS, for PVE a calm and considered approach is always needed... lol hybrids better than drones... did you get malled by a slaver hound or something.

I guess I assumed drones were a given with any Domi setup. Didn't feel I needed to specifiy drones in my build. I was mearly pointing out the fact that a NOS/Drone setup was inferior to a Gun/Drone setup.

fair enough i will gracefully conceed to your previous point, i will say however that NOS is perhaps a better option for someone with limited skills in areas that reduce the amount of cap your repper uses and also for people who cant afford CCC rigs, and also out of personal opinion and out of all the rails ive used the duel large ones seem to be the weakest, but maybe i should go look into them a bit more.

i used a domi for a very long time for mishes (considering my time in eve) and i freaked out on a lot of setups.
the first thing i would advise you to do is install 3x ccc rigs. one might say a pg rig would be good for using real guns on it. i just cant stand those dual250 or even worse mediums guns. but thats just me. but i fear even a pg rig wont help you much if you want that dual lar tank.
and if you got all them 3ccc rigs, you get a very very versatile domi. you can (dual)armor tank it and go for drone mods or a web in the free meds.
or you can actually shield tank it. 6x carbide 425mm rails(cpu) (or maybe blasters for some mishes) 1x XL SB II 3x Invul II 1xcap recharger II (or maybe a web when you fit blasters) 6x PDUII 1xMagstab

In 2 days I'll get skills needed for Domi, and, based on my lvl 3 mission experience I was thinking about this fitting for lvl 4's (don't have skills for some of these but have some of the stuff already). I haven't done any lvl 4's yet so I'd like oppinions why it would or wouldn't be a good build and how to improve it.
High: 4x Dual 250mm (eventually 2x 425mm for long range if needed) 1x Drone Link Augmenter 1x Heavy NOS
Medium: 3x Cap Recharger II 1x Webifier 1x 100MN AB II
Low: 4x Mission specific hardeners/EANM II 1x LAR II 1x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten 1x CPR II
Already have 2 Nano pump rigs and 1 CCC rig (these I am going to use for sure).
And of course mission specific drones.

Just carry both Antimatter and Iron charges and you should be able to hit all the way out to your targeting range. Anyway, guns don't do nearly as much damage as drones.
Quote:
Medium: 3x Cap Recharger II 1x Webifier 1x 100MN AB II
Don't bother with the webber. You should pop frigates at long range with your rails or sentry drones. If they get too close for your guns use light or medium drones to mop them up. Put in another cap recharger or a drone navigation unit to get your heavies to the target faster.
Quote:
Low: 4x Mission specific hardeners/EANM II 1x LAR II 1x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten 1x CPR II
I personally don't bother with the armor. I'd put in a second LAR, CPR or hardener instead. Sustainability of tank is more important than raw armor.

Same here, but I'm guessing there will be alot of missions where u get warped into the middle of a large pack, some of which might web you, hopefully drones will help taking out the webber enemy frigs quickly.

Just carry both Antimatter and Iron charges and you should be able to hit all the way out to your targeting range. Anyway, guns don't do nearly as much damage as drones.
I usually use Iridium instead of Iron, because of the extra damage, but I'll try Iron charges, maybe the large ones actually count more.
About the LAR, I thought it could work out with a single one considering the two Nano Pump rigs. What I fear is the idea of the 3 Cap Rechargers with 1-2 CPR and CCC rig not being able to maintain the guns, AB and LAR...

4 x 350mm prototype gauss, 2 x 250 mm prototype gauss 100mn AB II, 4 cap II LAR II, cpr, damage control II, active hardners of choice rigs: ccc and repair amount increase drones: small, med, large and sentries
this setup can run AB and LAR forever. if the gunz all run you might have to switch off the rep a bit depending on your skillz. (smack on an extra ccc if needed ) with this setup i can keep distance to BS's while clearing cruisers with guns and frigs with small drones.

I have one suggestion for setting up the rigs. I loved having 2x aux nano pump (used to be 30% bonus to armor repairer amount, now ~25%) + 1x ccc.
With good skills you can make Domi run dual t2 LAR's until the next DT. That is 2x1039.9 points of armor / cycle / t2 lar. If you wanna run those reppers forever, you need to put in a good capacitor power relay (24%) or rely on NOSs. Fill midslots with cap recharger II's.
True, 3x ccc rigs in domi make it very versatile. You can make domi run 6x large remote reppers for example, a true logistic setup :) |

Med 5 X Cap recharger II's (cheap as hell these days)
Low 2 X type d cap relay 3 X specific hardners 2 X LAR II
Rig 2 X Nano pump (rep bonus ones) 1 X drone link one
Haven't had any challeneges with this one. Can run all mods forever have recharge skill at 5 mind u. the tank is quite difficult to break and will prolly only fail if u make a really really terrible pull as for drone bay same old same old. sentry/heavy/med/light etc. Good luck :)

I solo l4's in an Eos atm, although used to use a domi/ishtar.
from what i have seen there's no generic setup, make sure you change your tank depending on the NPC damage output, 2 heavy nos is also useful for keeping your cap up, maybe a duel LAR t2 setup also.
The main thing to remember about setup's for l4's is there's never a standing one fits all, change your suit to fit the party.

Edited by: Lamias on 08/04/2007 22:54:38 It tanks every level 4 just fine and burns through them pretty quick. I admit that the tank could be done much cheaper but not with all my extra stuff. I like having guns and an AB so this plays to my tastes.
Fits with AWU5, runs repper + hardeners forever (if only tanking) and reps for 1916 Cost: about 917 million after insure, all below and T2 drones Max speed 260 m/s with AB.

My ratting setup would probably be better:
4x 350's 2x tractors AB
Smoke most things, cruisers included, before the drones can get there. Hell, send drones to one target, guns on another. Then use the tractors to scoop up both wrecks while you move towards the third.
No expirence salvaging though. ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever

My lvl 4 dominix
his
5x 250 protos 1x 250 protos or SB large
mids
all cap recahrger t2
low
2 large armor rep t2 1 damage control t2 4 rat hard t2
rigs
3 cap control rigs
drones up to the mission
This setup works pretty well in all lvl 4 that I did so far (some trouble in angel missions, only), I can sustain both lars with the guns for a loooooooooong time, something like 20 minutes, after i turn off the guns fro 2 minutes and got another 20 minutes with all turned on.
It is uber tank, I know, but I really doesnt like the idea of risking my ship increasing drone or gun damage with modules.

I am really lazy, I've no need to do missions as fast as possible and I like having all the wrecks close, easier to loot... did I say I was lazy?
Anyway, the setup I am using at present:-
HI - 3x T2 425s 3x T2 250s Antimatter ammo MID - 5x T2 cap rechargers LO - 1x T2 armour rep, 6x T2 hardners depending on mission (3 of each damage type, exp/kin for Angels etc)
Plenty drones, all T2
Can run everything forever, I have been known to wander off and return to find a field full of wrecks having forgotten I was in a mission, I'm old you see
rigs.... I run a cap recharge one, an armour amount one and a reduction to armour cycle one.
I might try some of the suggestions above, when I can be bothered to change modules, such hard work swapping modules.

Terrible setup for any number of reasons.
6 hardners? Mixed guns? 1 rep and 5 tech II rechargers to run it?

Resists are better than throwing reps at it, or plates (imho) Drones are main damage, the mixed guns are to assist. almost ornamental I don't need 5 rechargers, cap holds with all mods on at 50% ish So could easily fit an AB and something else probably
I really wonder why people fit dual reps on a mission ship, I have no trouble tanking every lvl4 with a single rep, perhaps cos my resists are higher?
Different strokes for different folks, where's your lvl4 Domi setup then?

Maximum gank Domi sniper setup:
Hi:
2x 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 2x 350mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 2x Drone Link Augmentor
Med:
2x Cap Recharger II 2x Omnidirectional Tracking Link 1x Tracking Computer II
Lo:
1x LAR II 1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II 1x Beta Control Reactor: Capacitor Power Relay I 4x Rat-specific Hardeners, or 3 hardeners and DCII
Rigs:
3x CCC
Obviously, this setup won't tank the harder L4 missions, but it's a great setup to quickly complete any L4 it can tank with the single LARII, as it'll put out a ton of DPS at range with rails+sentries.

I've been doing lvl4's for a few months now on pretty basic skills and I've found the duel rep setup to be the best for me. The basic setup is always quite similar but I chop and change depending on mission
Hi (6): 3-4x 250mm Rail, 2x Drone Link, L Smart bomb
Med (5): 3-5x cap recharger II, AB, Omni directional, Drone Navigation Comp
Low (7): 2x LAR II, 4-5x active hardener, Cap Power Relay
Rigs: 2x CCC, 1x Auxiliary Nano Pump
Cap Skills: 25% faster recharge rate and 15% more cap.
With either 5 cap rechargers or 4 and the cap power relay the tank can run for ever. For Missions that only deal 2 damage types I will use 4 hardeners and the cap power relay, that means I can use 4 cap rechargers and put in AB, omni directional or navigation comp. If it's an easy mission I will drop another cap recharger and only use the second rep in bursts, that means I can use 2 of the med slot goodies. For missions where the frigs orbit within 5km I use a smart bomb, saves having to deploy medium drones.

Wel I'm a lazy newb person and I run missions while I work so ... I needed something a bit more pasive. I have been using this setup over 2 weeks now and done most lvl4's without anny problems. It's not the fast way to kill them all but you do safe some time couse your salvaging/looting duiring combat. If your cargo is full jetson, bookmark and pickup ...
The Key :: Shield HP (regen) : 19961.25 HP (140.59sec) Max Shield Regen : 354.95 per sec (approx.) (use the resictance amplifier wisely to prevent them from going over that number and/or make sure to kill off annything that makes them go over that number fast)
==[ DOMINIX ]==
HIGH-SLOTS : ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2* Small Tractor Beam I 2* Salvager I 1* Drone Link Augmentor I 1* 650mm Artillery Cannon I
MED-SLOTS : ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4* Large Shield Extender II 1* Heat Dissipation Amplifier II (== Depends on rat type ==)
LOW-SLOTS : ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 7* Shield Power Relay II
RIG-SLOTS : ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3* Core Defence Field Purger I
DRONE BAY : ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5* Ogre II (Heavy Attack Drone) 5* Wasp II (Heavy Attack Drone) 5* Hammerhead II (Medium Scout Drone) 5* Vespa II (Medium Scout Drone) 5* Hobgoblin II (Light Scout Drone)
ps. I used the same kinda setup to afk run lvl3's on a navy vexor that served me for 2 months. No problems at all !!

Just one hardener?
Say against Guristas, you'll be taking mostly Kinetic but also Thermal. If you fit a kinetic hardener then your thermal will be at 20%.
I see you have Shield Op and Mgmt at 5, so that means 444 tankable thermal dps, and 1300+ Kinetic. Is that thermal really enough for lvl 4's? If you fit TH hardener instead, you get good TH but tankable KIN drops to 592dps.
If you take off one extender and fit two hardeners, KIN + THE, shield regen would drop to 297sh/s and you'll get 1099 tankable Kinetic and 824 Thermal.
What about angels, do you decline the mission or do you fit something like EM hardener + Invul?
I haven't done many lvl 4's yet, still in my Myrmidon and not enough damage output even if the tank seems to be enough. Maybe when I get T2 drones.

Yes or Inv. Field
I forgot to metnion that the inv. field if prety usefull on some rat types. But even with Guristas and Angels I use one hardner most of the time. If you look them up you will always see one damage type spike out and maybe there is 1/2 rats that don't fit in so they get killed off first (most of the time cruiser sized ship). Next on the list are those that do em damage.
and to make it compleetly belivable I don't have t2 heavy's yet so I had to drop one salvager and fit a extra gun to kill off some of the (rare) bs's ;)

That's an interesting setup, hadn't considered active shield boosting.
Problem is even Gist C XL boosters go for 600mil. There was one Gist X XL for 1.4Bn.
With T2 that setup is not sustainable, and would only give some 180+ sh/s recharge anyway, with amplifier. (160 boosted + 20 natural recharge). Pretty good resists though.
That is, assuming I did the math right
If I have the money for gist boosters at some point I'll have to redo the numbers.

My level 4 setup, which is admittedly rather expensive, is as follows:
Hi: 2 Modal Light Neutron Particle Accelerator I (for aggro and small, close, fast frigates) : 1 Drone Link Augmentor I : 3 Heavy Diminishing Power System Drain I (for missions with NOS rats, and for those occasions when I run missions in losec)
Mid: 5 Cap Recharger II
Lo: True Sansha Energised Adaptive Nano Membrane (22.5%) : Corpus X-Type Large Armour Repairer (1260hp/cycle) : Large Armour Repairer II (800hp/cycle) : 4 mission specific Corpus X-Type Armour <type> Hardeners (64% each)
Rigs: 3 CCCs
Drones: 5 mission specific t2 heavies : 5 mission specific t2 mediums : 5 mission specific t2 lights : Warden sentries
With this setup I can repair 189hp damage per second permanently (without having to resort to NOS). With pairs of hardeners, I can get my resists to 94.5%, 87.7%, 91.1%, 91.1% (though not all at the same time). Combined with the reppers I can handle 3470em/s, 1542exp/s, 2135kin/s and 2135therm/s (though, again, not all at the same time), while kicking out up to 435dps with the drones (according to a spreadsheet I have for calculating drone damage)
There are still a few missions that I haven't tested the setup against - Worlds Collide, for example - though this is due mainly to them not being offered, or being offered in lowec, and I don't run long missions in lowec. All the other missions could be done AFK if it wasn't for the triggered spawns.
I am in the worrying situation, from an insurance point of view, that the ship is worth 60m, and the equipment on a typical mission is worth over 1b.
I want to replace a CCC with an anti-explosive pump, but I can't do this until I have a few better cap rechargers - the above setup with only 2 CCs will not run both reppers constantly, though I hardly ever turn on the LAR II.
Loc.
P.S. Sorry if the above sounds like I'm "blowing my own trumpet" ... I am ;-)

Interesting thread. I am just about to start running level 4's in my brand new Domi. I am not sure my skills are high enough (4m skill points, but almost half of that in learning), although I do have some good kit to fit on it. This what I had planned:-
Rigs:- 2 x CCC rigs 1 x nano pump
Highs:- 5 x 250mm protos 1 x drone link
Mids:- 1 x AB 1 x webber 4 x cap charger II's
Lows:- 1 x LAR II 4 x various EANM/hardeners 1 x damage control II
With regards to the lows. I have never really used plates before, I usually focus on trying to maintain my rate of repair, rather than an increase quantity of armor. Even so, would it be worth fitting some 1600mm plates? I notice that a lot of people above have fitted a second armor rep - should I look at doing so? Maybe even some cap relays to help keep the tank going?
With regards to the mids, I have had sucsess from using webbers before - to help swat the smaller ships. I was thinking that this would be just as important in level 4's, with the frequency of scrambling. Should I just stick an extra cap charger in there instead, and launch light drones first to take care of frigates? Also, would the AB be a waste of a slot? Are there many long gate trips in level 4 missions?
With regards to the highs, I dont have large gun skills yet - but thought the 250mm's would be pretty good at taking out smaller ships for the time being. Am I correct in thinking that its MUCH better to get extra drone range with a high slot, than a rig slot in a Domi?
Last of all, the rigs. I was thinking of putting a drone range rig in - but as mentioned above, I am assuming this would be a waste of a rig slot, and I would be much better using a high slot. Should I be considering a nanopump accelerator, to go along with a nanobot and single CCC, or would two CCC's be the best way foward?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice on this.

I'd say yes, but would tweak it a bit:
6x 250mm proto / t2 with preferred iridium/spike/AM or mission specific ammo of your choice 5 CR II 2 LAR II Mission specific resistances
3 CCC rigs. will run forever with cap skills at 4/5 iirc, but definitely with cap skills 5/5 It isn't the fastest mission runner available, but the OMG AFK factor is just astonishing :) I recommend t2 ogres or other t2 heavies as main weapon, as t1s might have problems with some of the boss BSs.
Also, train your electronic warfare drone interfacing up to lv3-4 for 54-57km range :)
@ Artemis: great setup, very pricy but fantastic indeed. Only other repellent would be the fact that most dommy pilots have poor shield skills, tbh (I myself saw that flaw and promptly finished my t2 shield capabilities ages ago for a gankadommy :D)

I see many ppl claiming to be able to run two LARs indefinitely, but I have tried 5x t2 cap rechargers and 1 cpr, and it wasnt even close to running indefinitely. Energy systems is at 5 and energy management is at 4... So I don't understand how ya'll able to do that.
Is that second cpr indispensable or a ccc rig? =/

2x CCC, 1x aux nano

Im using your ideas to settup my domi for level 4 missions and im confident ill be able to do most of em now. And excellent domi guide m8. Ive already tested it with 1 CCC rig and its sustainable. Ive thrown on projectile turrets for more ammo versatility and no cap demand although the cap will go down a few bars it still stabalizes just a lil lower than 50% with 4 dual 250 prototype guass guns so it maynot have been neccesary - but i did get this which ive never gotten from a hybrid.
2007.06.17 00:06:51 Combat Your 720mm Carbine Howitzer I perfectly strikes Pithi Despoiler, wrecking for 404.7 damage.
So im sticking with projectiles for a while.
the only bad thing about this is not being able to load all of the medium and small modules that you want inexchange for enough cap recharge and cprs I need the other 2 CCC I rigs before I can load either a Nav or omnidirection tracking link. but after i do scout drones V and EW drones IV I should be able to give up a aug link for a 1400mm scouts and maybe replace one of the 4 medium scouts for another 1400mm.
thanks for your guide m8 your settup beats using and having to return to station to reload the injector in the middle of a long one.

I personally don't bother with the armor. I'd put in a second LAR, CPR or hardener instead. Sustainability of tank is more important than raw armor.

Considering no NOS and an AB (why so many of you didn't consider it?) plus an ominidirectional (to help warden) needed, which combo of these rigs/cap recharger do you suggest me to sustain 2 larII in lvl4 and tank?
1) 3ccc + 3cap recharger II 2) 3ccc + 2cap recharger II + 800 injector 3) 2ccc+nanopump + 3cap recharger II 4) 2ccc+nanopump + 2cap recharger II + 800 injector
is nanopump so useful with lars in lvl4 missions?
Thanks!

My level 4 mission Domi:
Highs: 2x 250mm proto for aggro and boredom reduction 2x e500 Nos for minor cap boost 2x drone augmentation mod
Mediums: LiF AB 4x Cap Recharger II
Lows: 2x LARII 4x T2 hardeners, or 3 and a DCUII 1x beta cap relay
Rigs: 2 CCC 1 Aux nano pump
Drones: 5 sentries, nearly always wardens 5 Wasp IIs 5 Hammer IIs 5 Hob IIs 5 Hornet IIs
No slave implants, but I have some of the 3% Nobles.
I can run the two reppers basically forever, with cap skills to 4. I think it gets below 30% at around 20 minutes according to quickfit, but not so far in any battle I've had. I use the Nos on anything that comes into range, that does the trick. I can cycle the second repper too, if things really got tight. By that point, all the BS would be dead anyway. The tank has yet to come close to breaking.
I use the sentries as much as possible, pulling them in and out as needed. Eventually, I just aggro everything, use the Hornets or, rarely, the Hobs to take the frigates, and let the Wasps handle everything else. I use a catalyst to loot, and an itty to pick it all up when its over and done with.
Best mission boat imho. Ravens are for noobs. ;)

I am still working on my drone skills so cannot use t2 heavies or sentry drones yet, but other than that, I have all the skills to use the above setup. Would it still be able to do lv 4 missions without the sentry drones/t2 heavies? -=^=-

Yes. I'm training Heavy Drone V but I run Lvl 4s regularly. There's just one or two you need to stay out of, check Kill Missions and Eveinfo, etc.
4 x 250mm Railgun II 2 x Heavy 'Knave' NOS
I don't get much mileage out of drone link augs because i want to very carefully manage my drone aggro when I'm soloing lvl 4s.
1 x 100MN AB II 4 x Eutectics
Haven't bothered replacing with CRIIs yet.
1 x EANM II 1 x DC II 1 x EM Hardener II 2 x Therm Hardener II 2 x Large Armor Repairer II
I ususally run Blood/Sansha, switch out hardeners as appropriate
1 x CCC 1 x Aux Nano Pump
I'm going to put a second CCC on there one of these days. Because I don't have that second I run the two heavy NOS on some ships to bump me in case I need to run the second LARII. If you can get a <20km orbiting BS I like to leave that alive as a NOS b***h that I can suck cap from while I pop eveyrthing else.
10 x Hammerhead II 10 x Ogre I 5 x Hobgoblin II
Nuke frigs >20km with the med rails, Hammers to take out any that get inside, Hobs in case you get the nasty elite frigs. Ogres kill cruisers on up.

My question will surely seem stupid .. i intend to change my lvl 4 missions ship
Until now i was flying a typhoon, but since i do nearly every mission only with drones (...) some corpmate whispered me to try dominix, i watched dominix's stats and fell in love ..
If i understand it all, when having 2 drone link augmentor, scout drone op V you can send your drones to 2*20 + 5*5 + 20 -> 85 km ? Am i right ?

Yup. Also note that the E-war drone ops skill gives +3km operational range per level to all drones.

Wow this thread came back to life...
If I were to run missions (I ain't, I can't even NPC in 0.0 for 10 minutes without going nuts these days) I would still use the setup below. It doesn't quite tank forever, but near enough to kill everything. Oh and these days you could stick armour rep rigs on it and up turn your tanking up to æ11Æ.
It did 736 dps with T1 ammo and Ogre II's (though that's maximum skills and a 3% rof implant) and works against virtually every NPC out there without swapping hardeners (you need to swap a CPR for an explosive hardener if fighting Angels). Stuff Railguns; most stuff swarms you inside web range, you pop all the frigates and cruisers simultaneously û drones on the later, blasters on the former, then close in with the Battleships (Afterburner) and throw everything at them.
Oh I even had the opportunity to PvP in it when some nub low-sec pirates in a Brutix and Thorax took me on thinking I was some fat carebear...
Originally by: Gabriel Karade Edited by: Gabriel Karade on 26/01/2007 21:09:16 Before I swore never to look at a mission again I used to use the following:

So far I've been able to solo everything except Angel Extrav and Enemies Abound 5/5 with this setup:
H: 5x 250mm t2 rails II 1x Drone Control Augmentor
M: 5x Cap recharger II*
L: 2x LAR II 4x Active Hardener II 1x Damage Control II
R: 3x Capacitor Control Circuit
t2 Ogres and Hobgoblins for drones
*Cap skills aren't perfect at the moment, will be swapping out t2 cap rechargers for 1-2 drone tracking modules, drone control augmentor, and utilizing t2 sentries

Highs:
3x Large Smartbombs 2x drone link augmentor 1 gun for aggroing
Mediums:
100mn AB II 4x Cap Recharger II
Lows:
2x LAR II 4x Hardeners 1 Best you can find Cap Power Relay
Rigs:
Auxiliary Nano Pump 2x CCC
Here's the idea:
You can run both reps nonstop with Energy Systems Operation at 5 and Energy Management at 4 and all four hardeners going. I'm able to do every mission except Angel Extra level 4. You can shut off one rep and use smartbombs to clear things that are within 5km. It works great. Fittings guns is so silly because it doesn't add much dps and just drains your cap. I can rep 1840 every 11.25 with armor rep systems 5.

3x 350mm Railgun II 1x Salvager 1x Tractor Beam 1x Drone Link Augmentor
1x 100mn AB II 4x Cap Recharger II
2x Large Rep II 1x Kinetic Hardener II 1x Thermic Hardener II 1x EANM II 1x DCU II (Better resists than with 2nd EANM II) 1x Relay II
3x CCC
Runs everything forever with AB turned off or for roughly 10 minutes with AB on. Maxed out cap skills, and with the +5% Cap Capacity implant I have I can permarun the AB too.
Just a quick example of hardeners to use against Guristas/Serpentis.

Edited by: Zenla Kimera on 13/07/2007 11:34:39 This is a damn fine setup. You can even swap out some of the energised resistances if you don't have the skill for tech 2's and toss a hardener or two to help increase resists without really affecting the tank at all. With my skills I already get 175 sec recharge.

I looked at the numbers in Quickfit ( dunno how good quickfit is for this, but better than nothing I think ) and the result between
Dual 250th I ( 5 ) = 106 dps and 250th (5) = 75 dps both with antimattar against a cruiser with a transversal of around 125 at 20 km ( optimal for both ) would be Duals 13.x cap/s , 71 % chance to hit = 106 x .71 = 75 dps 250th 8.x cap/s ,90 % chance to hit = 75 * .9 = 67.5 dps
10 km range ( rest the same ) Duals 20 % chance to hit = 106 * .2 = 21 dps 250th 90 % chance to hit = 75 * .9 = 67.5 dps
50 km range and Iron Duals (44 base dps) 92.5 % chance to hit = 44 * .925 = 40.7 dps 250th (31 base dps) 98 % chance to hit = 31 * .98 = 30 dps
For people with not so good energy skills 5 cap/s is maybe more important than 8 to 12 dps/s when you remember that the duals will nearly hit nothing at 10 km and will be worst against frigs ... .
So the dual 250th will be maybe ok on paper but not really good in a mission.

T2 Fit:
Hi: 4x 200mm Autocannon I 2x Drone Link Augmentor I
Med: 4x Cap Recharger II 1x Stasis Webifier II
Lo: 2x LAR II 1x Explosive Hardener II 1x Thermic Hardener II 1x Kinetic Hardener II 2x EANM II
Rigs: 3x CCC I
Drones: whatever works
The cap will be sustained indefinatly with this build, and I don't really use the 4 hi's a whole lot so I decided to just put **** in to kill frigs with/aggro with. The webber is there for the same purpose. The drones'll be doing the brunt of your damage, you should be able to pull like 150 dps with even super-low skills. You should probably sub hardeners out for specific ones but I'm just too lazy, and this gives you like 70% across the board, 450 dps tanked with low skills.
T1 Fit (similar build):
Hi: 4x 200mm Autocannon I 2x Drone Link Augmentor I
Med: 5x F-b10 Nominal Capacitor Regenerator
Lo: 2x LAR I 1x Explosive Hardener I 1x Thermic Hardener I 1x Kinetic Hardener I 2x EANM I
Rigs: 3x CCC I
Drones: whatever works
This fit will still sustain the tank, but you'll hold out against like 100-200 dps less, depending on skills. Your DPS won't suffer too badly, but it always helps to have T2 drones, and they're pretty easy to train to if you're Gallente. Cap holds out indefinatly with Energy Management IV and Energy Systems Operation IV, but those mids have to be the F-b10s or T2 to hold out the tank.

Can run the LAR II indefinitely.
With Scout V and EW Drone Interfacing III I have a natural drone range of 54km, so rarely a need for Drone Link.
The only thing I don't like about the Domi is Ogres and even Ogre IIs take about 30 years to reach distant targets. And they like to forget their assignments after about 30 seconds and will switch targets. If you don't pay attention you'll spend minutes doing no DPS as your drones fly about willy nilly.
I could fit (6) Dual 250s, but the range is crap and they do less damage than what I've listed here.
The good thing is those Ogre IIs Rip through Battleships, Battlecruisers, and Cruisers alike. They can handle most frigates too, but Hob IIs fly faster.
On paper this does more DPS and tanks about as well as a Gist X-type Raven. The only drawbacks are drone aggro and drone flight time.
Taking into account drone flight time, and defender missiles, it's hard to say which is better. The domi is certainly far cheaper. A Gist booster CNR would probably work better but costs about nine times as much. At that price I can afford to throw domis away. ----------- Support fixing the EVE UI Drones should not aggro anything missiles or turrets do not. |

I just love sentry drones. It's so nice to see them start popping frigs even before you have targeted anything (if the enemies aggro you on jump in). Now I'm looking into the two 5% capacitor implants in order to maybe exchange one CCC for a sentry damage rig.

DomiShield
Hi 6x425mm prototypes (36+30 range with antimatter)
Mid: 1xDread Guristas XL Shield Booster (mostly coz of cpu) 1xSB AMP II 3xSpecific Active T2 Hardeners
Low: 5xPDS II 2xbeta reactor Cap Power Relays
Rigs: 3xCCC
Pros: Good vs Explosive Long Range Turrets (Stopping Power). More DPS. Can Use Antimatter at Long Range. Can use 2-3 DMG Mods in Lows if Using Gist XL SB while enjoying a stronger tank (for u rich/crazy ppl). Works well as stationary sniper/dps dealer combined with sentry drones.
Cons: Weaker Tank then 2xLAR II (if sustainable) but not by much. Even More Weaker vs Sansha and other EM shooting scum. Require High Skills. Using AB is out of the question unless you want an even weaker tank.
Extra Notes: You Can play around with this setup by changing Hi and Lows to fit/compensate for your skills/needs (EG. 350mm's, Fitting Nos, Replacing PDS with a DCU or some Dmg mods for them very easy missions). You Can Switch between Shield and Armor tanking setups since both benefit from the CCC's.

If i can remember this right, it works very well for my Domi!
High Slot: 3x Neutron Blaster 2's Antimatter/Iron ammo 3x 250mm Rail gun 2's Spike/Antimatter
Med's: 4x cap recharge 2's 1x t2 Afterburner
Lows: 2x Large t2 armor repair 1x Cap power relay t2 1x 1600mm rolled tungsten 1x thermic hardener 1x kinetic hardener
Riggs: 1x nano pump for repair 1x nanobot accelerator 1x explosive pump
Drones: 5x warden sentries 6x any heavy drones, I use ogrs as many small and medium drones as possible, should be able to fit at least 7 or of each
This works Very well for my domi, i start out with the sentries and spike ammo in my mediums, to hit all the frigs before they get to you, now ur safe to warp out when needed, with this set up i mainly use one repp, the second is there for when i really need it, this holds for a very long time, and with the plate, it gives time to warp out when cap is really low at hard times.
Let me know if you think i should change anything!

My dominix setup for lvl 4 missions, a classic, I know.
Hi¦s 5x 250mm prototypes (Not so classic, I know, but very useful to support the drones) 1x Large SB
Meds All cap recharger t2
Lows 2x LAR T2 4X HARDs T2 (mission specific) 1x damage control t2
Rigs 3 CCC
Drones Sentries Lights and heavies t2
With some special implants. I get 1680 repair every 10 seconds forever, even with my guns turned on. If I overload (never needed),well, never calculated, but I would probably have to turn off the guns and SB (reduce time for every cicle = more cap).
Very trust whorty setup.

Rigs: 2x aux nano pump, 1x ccc
implants : 5% rep amount, -5% rep cycle
tanks as much as 2x T2 LAR, with 350 less cap / cycle and resist in the 84% area as lowest, with my skills(comp 4) tankable dps: around 1k with this omni fit...
And yes, i bought the stuff before they went up.....selling now would give a profit over 1.5b....lol

HI, when running lvl 4's I rey the longest range possible solution with sentry drones.
HI: 4x DLA 2x 250mm Rails
Mid: 1x SB 1x T2 AB 3x OTL
Low: 2x T2 Reppers Rest for your desired resists. I go for High Therm and kinetic for Gallente Mission Agents
Drones: 5x Wardens 5x Garde 5x Hammerhead II 5x Hobgoblin II's 25m3 left over for drones
As long as I can warp in at a long range, I can hit NPC's with wardens at 125Km (including frigs and destroyers @ 1 volley each.) For stuff that gets too close, the hammerheads can get cruisers and BS's pretty well and the Hob's can get the close range frigs and destroyers pretty quick. If you wanted, you could remove the garde's for hvy drones instead.
The biggest drawback to this is the dual reppers which will drain the cap fairly quick. I have not invested in CCC rigs yet, but will soon. With the CCC's, the tank should hold really well.
Peace.

This the setup i use, and it walks through any level 4 you can throw it aty it without breaking a sweat. Needs resonable fitting skills tho.
6x 350 II
XL Shield Booster II, 2x SBA II, 2x Rat specific Hardener II
5x PDS II, 1x Beta Reactor CPR, 1x Co-pro II
3x CCC
Use guns to draw aggro and shoot rats up with the aid of sentries as they run in. Once the rats get in close, guns off and use heavies or whatever to bust them up.
Has the added advantage of perma-running the XL Booster once the guns are off, and boosts 965 a cycle, giving you higher HP/Sec repped than a perma running dual LAR II tank, whilst being easy enough on PG to fit 6 Medium Calibre BS guns on it.
Does about 750DPS total, with maxed out skills.

High: 1 small laser for grabbing aggro. Laser > hybrid/projectile as you don't need to remember ammo 2 drone link augmentor. This is great for using sentry drones at sniper ranges 1 tractor beam 1 salvager 1 smart bomb (alternatively, another tractor beam). This is rarely used, but handy for missions that cause mass aggro due to drone use.
Mid: Cap Recharger II x 5
Low: 2 LAR II 1 DCU II 4 Mission-specific hardeners
Drones: 5 wardens 5 ogres 5 hammerhead 5 light whatever and/or whatever misc drones. Better to have too many heavies and sentries than too few.
Basically, I send out the drones, then fly around and collect and salvage everything while the drones do the work. Occasionally, if the mission starts at long range to targets, then use wardens as snipers. If the enemy is going to swarm you at close range, don't deploy the drones and use the smartbomb on them.
This isn't as fast as fitting big guns in the high slots, but your tank is going to be great and you will be able to loot and salvage without having to fly around a lot. :)

are you actually suggesting like a fool that its better to use hybrids on the domi than drones, with battleship four you also get a 40% increase in drone damage, plus with a good tank you dont actually need to be at the comp to see all those cruisers and BC,s pop like a marshmellow being sat on by a fat kid... the domi really isnt a rail ship especially not for PVE for PVP then hell yes go for the hybrid set up assisted by drones for pure insane DPS, for PVE a calm and considered approach is always needed... lol hybrids better than drones... did you get malled by a slaver hound or something.
He didn't said that he is not using drones. Please try to read and comprehend something before trying to defame it and attack the poster so lousy.

I started using a very similar setup to this today. I've run through three level 4's with it with no problems. For those of you who cannot fit bldyannoyed's T2 setup, you may want to consider my version or a derivative of it, which is entirely T1 named.
H: 350mm Compressed Coil Gun x6 M: LiF Booster Afterburner M: X-Large C5-L Emergency Shield Booster M: Shield Boost Amp x2 M: Mission-specific hardener L: Local Powerplant Manager: Power Diagnostic Sys x5 L: Local Powerplant Manager: CPR L: Damage Control
Consider switching out at least one power diagnostic system for another module of your choice. This setup leaves you with a bunch of extra CPU and Grid. Be advised that you'll pull back about 750 shields every few seconds, but that you cannot by any means permarun the booster.

Because the grid doesn't allow LAR's and six guns. Of course, you also need EW Drone skill to 3 or 4, or your drones will be stuck at 45km range, which isn't enough. You also don't have much room for Omnis, so drones hitting smaller targets don't work so great. I mean it does work, just not so fast. Gardes with three Omnis, maybe a painter too, massacre HAC's and Hammerheads go through 30k frigs like butter. Not so with just one or no Omnidirectionals. If you're using Ogres you'll want some drone speed mods too.
Tank doesn't need to be perma, running 5 CR's in the mids is a waste, and slows down rat popping.

I use the following to solo L4 Missions and so far it hasn't failed me. Clearing rooms doesn't take terribly long either. Mind you, I don't do the whole "Loot/Salvage" thing. I tried it a few times but it took so damn long and was so damn mind numbing that I almost wanted to kill myself. Needless to say, I don't bother anymore.
"Go in, kill everything, get out, repeat."
That's how I play.
HIGH: 1x Heavy Beam Laser (Radio M) <-For aggro. It could be a rubber-band gun for all I care. 3x True Sansha Large EMP Smartbomb 2x Drone Link Augmentor
MED: 6x Cap Recharcher
LOW: 1x Capacitor Power Relay 4x Active Armor Hardeners (Mission Specific) 2x Large Armor Repairer
RIGS: 3x Capacitor Control Circuit
DRONES: 10x Light Drones (Mission Specific) 7x Heavy Drones (Mission Specific) 6x Sentry Drones (Mission Specific)
I'm the lazy type and I don't like to pay super close attention to my drones when I let them out (unless I need to burn down a battleship). This means I almost invariably lose one or two during missions which is why I carry 10/7/6, so I can send out reinforcements when needed. Also, I don't carry Medium Drones because I find clearing a room of mid range orbiting frigates/cruisers/battlecruisers to be faster with Light Drones than Medium Drones. Battleships I leave to the Heavy Drones and Sentries, depending on their orbit range. Also, I can't use T2 Sentries yet, but from what I've read about them I doubt I ever will.
I use three smartbombs not only for popping close frigates but also for close cruisers and battlecruisers. With three True Sansha Large EMP Smartbomb's (7.5km/375EMP each) I can take out most near orbiting ships in a reasonable amount of time while my Drones pound away on mid/long range ships. And yes, I know, "Your smartbombs will pop your own sentries!" I learned that the hard way (yes, I'm an idiot) and now move to a safe distance after deploying them if the situation calls for both Sentries and Smartbombs.
Also, with all the Cap fittings I can run both LAR's and all four hardeners for a very VERY long time. When cap does run dry however, and it's very rare that it does, I just turn off one LAR for about ten seconds and then I'm good to turn it back on for a long time again.
Lastly, I might drop one of the Drone Link Augmentor's for another True Sansha Large EMP Smartbomb since that second +20km control range doesn't really do much for me, what with not being loaded out with Omni's and such.

Last time I checked a dominix only had 5 med slots
Will this do enough dps to clear a lvl4?
-High- 3x tractor beams 3x Salvagers -Med- 4x CR II 1x PWNAGE (just because of the name) -Low- 2x LAR II 3-4x rat specific hardener 0-1x EANM II 1x DC II
-Rigs- 2x CCC 1x ANP
10x Light t2 drones 13x Heavy t1 drones
I can run the tank forever and I have t1 drones because I haven't trained for the t2 ones yet. PWNAGE to aggro and some more DPS
This isn't actually tested just made in EFT

Thank you and congratulations. Rather than providing any constructive feedback in regard to my tried and true dominix fitting you instead saw fit to save us all from the horrors of a single dreaded typo via a smartass remark. EVE is a better place now because of you.
BACK ON TOPIC:
Yes, your drones will provide enough dps for any L4. It may take a while on some L4's that have a lot of sniping BS's since Heavy Drones are pretty slow and you've got no Sentries, but beyond that if you can sustain your tank, fit mission specific drones/hardeners, and are smart with your pulls then you shouldn't have a problem. You may want to consider dropping a Salvager or Tractor Beam so you can fit a Drone Link Augmentor though.

3x350mm T2 Rails, T2 Large SB, Tractor, Drone Link
Med
5xCap T2
Low
2xT2 Large Reps, 3xT2 Rat Specific Hards, T2 Damage Control, T2 Cap Power Relay.
Rigs
1xCCC 2xNano Pumps
2 Nano rigs boost the rep amount to 1050 each.
The reason for the SB is to pop all the frigs before releasing the drones on the rest, seems to work OK.
The two reps will last forever.
You can change the Highs with 425's or salvagers etc depending on what you like.

Edited by: Absolom Hues on 29/11/2007 21:32:11 Most people seem to prefer an Armor tank on the DOMI, but I was playing with EVE Fit, and this will probably be the setup I use:
Highs: 3 x 425mm Railguns 1 x Heavy Nasferatu energy drain 2 x Drone Link Augmentor
Mediums: 1 x Invulnerability Field II 4 x Large Shield Extender II Note ( 1 large extender can be removed and a shield resistance amplifier installed for specific missions when desired)
Lows: 6 x Shield Power Relay II 1 x Power Diagnostic System II
Rig Slots: 3 x Core Defence Field Purger I
All the usual Drones.
This setup will give a peak shield recharge rate (with my curent skills) of over 265 per second. Extended use of the Rail Guns will require the assistance from the Heavy Nasferatu energy drain. The advantage of this (for me) is the following: With 265 shields per second, this seems to be higher repair rate than an armor system equipped with 2 x Large Armor Repairer II (800/12 seconds = 67 * 2 = a total 134 per second). In EVE Fit the base defense for this Passive Shield Tank with-out hardners being active is equal to or higher than an armor system with all of the hardners active.

Cheap and cheerful Tech 2 omni tank fit:
4x 250 Rails II, Tractor, Drone Link 4 Cap IIs, 1 Large Cap Battery II (better recharge than 5 Cap IIs) 2x LAR II, Explosive II, Kinetic II, Thermic II, Amarr Navy EAN, DC II 3xCCC Drones fitted to mission, of course
Cap stable, runs forever, swap a harder if needed (i.e. AE bonus room), otherwise does absolutely fine in all level 4s. If you have money to burn then an officer large rep would be the next move but make sure you buy a 400 activation cost and not a 450 or you may overdrain the cap.

I run 2 clients on one comp in windows, bring in my primary and get all aggro, bring in 2nd client(only diff in setup is instead of sentry drones, he has hvy armor bots) lock on primary and launch repair bots. Kill everything, destroy installations as needed, pick up any object needed for completion, loot and salvage all wrecks-- and smile a lot :-)))

Not sure what, if anything, the Sin offers over the Domi for PVE? that extra 10% kinetic resist does not compensate for the loss of the low slot, the additional mid may allow a webber if your tracking issues are really that bad on your guns, but its got smaller base armor and would require a full deadspace/officer tank to be viable.

Maybe you should look at what Drone Link Argumentors do, they are for more range, not more drones.

Tho Vosa, have you ever flown a dominix? I have a hard time believing you have. Anyone who can confuse that capital class module with the run of the mill drone range augmentation mod, likely doesn't fly a drone boat, or even anything much larger than a Velator.
Thanks for trying though m8, better luck next time.

Why do I use Sheild Power Relay's Instead of Power Diagnostic Systems? Because the SPD's increase the passive shield recharge rate much higher.
Your setup with my skills will give me a peak shield charge rate of around 100 per second... with SPR's instead would raise the peak recharge rate too over 300 per second. The downside is the reduced capacitor recharge rate.
I have Since evolved the prevoiusly mentioned fitting to this:
Lows = 1 x Overdrive Injector II, 6 x Shield Power Relay II.
Mediums = 3 x Large Shield Extender II, 1 x Lif Fueled Booster Rocket, 1 x Invulnerability Field II.
High = 3 x 1400 mm Scout Artillary, 1 x small Knave Energy Drain, 2 x Drone Link Augmentor.
Rigs = 3 x Core Defence Field Purgers.
This configuration allows me to maintain a peak shield recharge rate of around 200 per second, plus I have the speed (afterburner) to distance from the Rats if needed (I like to sniper with sentrys), and the large artillary does not need capacitor to fire...so it work well with the low energy recharge rate.

I use this setup, and you don't need to buy ammos recharge and bla bla bla, the cargo is all for some "valuable" module you get in mission.
With the Omnidirectional, you can use Ogre II in any situation, they hit even small frigates without problems.

Mids: 100mn AB 2 CR2 x4
Low: LARIIx2, 3x mission hardeners, 2x CPR2s
Rigs: Aux Nano pump, 2x CCC
Bonused gun DPS, if you have one cap skill at 5 you don't need the medium nos but you still can't fit anything else, can perma run everything. Aux nano pump helps with tanking, since CPR's are more effective than CCC's, losing a CPR damages your cap.
Burner is to burn to acceleration gates.
The Dual 250's can hit a gisti machariel from 5km's away just fine.

You're kidding right?
5x Cap Recharger II Dual LAR II, 4x T2 Hardener, 1x EANM II 2x CCC, 1x Aux nano
This setup is cap stable, and can tank nearly 1200 dps guristas/serpentis (medium difficulty to tank)and 767 all damage types (Mercs, Angels). Now sansha/blood that are the easiest for an armor tanker it can get nearly 1400dps tanked.
You really only need 600dps tanked to complete any mission (might require some actual tactics with a 600dps tank...like not aggroing whole rooms.) -- Distortion| Distortion 2 Preview |

5x Therm Sentries, 5x Ex Sentries, 10 hammerhead Is, 5x hobgoblin Is

ok ive been doing level 4's for a few weeks now and this setup has had enough DPS and enough tank to do EVERY mission and i have only 10mil SP
low: 1 Damage Control II 4 rat specific hardeners (t2) 2 LAR II
med: 5 cap recharger II's
hi: 3 rails or 3 blasters, depending on the enemy 1 tractor 1 salvager 1 drone link aug
rigs: 3 CCC Rigs t1
Drones: 10 heavies 10 meds 5 lights
All t2 where possible, i keep 5 of each gallente drone (more DPS) and maybe a few EM/EXP drones for extra DPS against enemies weak to that damage (or surprise some pirates... quite a few pirates have not been able to break this tank, even with NOS)
SO yeah...

3 LAR is a waste. Your resists and rep amount don't even out, if you were to drop two CCCs for Aux nano pumps, your EANMs and DC for active hardeners, and your 3rd rep for an active hardener, you'd tank much better (1400-1500 or so mission specific).
Not that I even reccomend that, put in a trio of hardeners, a LAR, some MFS and kill the dang things before they even get to you.

Feel free to upgrade to t2 or faction as you like. All runs for 40 minutes or perma with one gun not shooting.
Also switch to gardes to berserkers for Angel missions, gardes are not good enough on damage and bouncers don't track the close range battleships so you need the heavy drones to get rid of them. --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

Rigs are 1 x CCC and 2 x aux nano pump
Each repper does 1040 armour every 11.25 seconds, can be run indefinitely at about 46% to 53% cap. With 2 x thermic and 2 x kinetic gives resistances of 50/10/85/85. Velocity is slow though at 125m/s. I am experimenting with it to get rid of mid slot charger and fitting something else of use (AB/Painter/webber)

With tailored hardeners and 2 LAR II you can tank about 1k on most missions and will have more grid left over. That's probably about twice as much tank as your really need, but that's what can be done.
Good for AFKing though. :)

Ok, changed the t2 CPR to a dark blood CPR and changed an active hardener to a t2 eanm (1% more cap recharged, cap use is very tight, goes down to 33%, turning on the salvager would cause cap to go under 30%) and now have 3 x aux nano pump which gives 1129hp/s per repairer (@11.25 sec per cycle) ... in this case I dropped one thermic hardener for the eanm and resistances are 61/31/87/77 ... so this would be suitable when there is one type of damage much higher than others |

Edited by: Spark02 on 06/07/2008 08:20:38 Mine is pretty similar to what's out there:
Highs:
2x Drone Link Augmentor 3x 350mm Compressed Coil Railgun I 1x Large Plasma Smartbomb (once I get lotsa cash this will go to a faction sb)
Med:
4x Cap Recharger II The last med slot is up for grabs: either a 100MN AB, a sensor booster or a drone nav comp. (Help?)
Low:
2x LAR II 4x Mission specific hardeners (T2) 1x CPR II (or will be very soon)
Rigs:
2x CCC 1x Aux Nano Pump (very slightly worse than the nanobot acc, but frees up that last med slot)
Drones:
5 Ogres, 5 wasps, 5 Hammerhead II's (I'm a month off t2 heavies and I can't be stuffed getting sentries yet)
What should I do with that last mid slot? All but discounted the AB (speed isn't really important when you're tanking w/ railguns imo), but not sure whether to fit a sensor booster or the drone nav comp.

Why do you need all that plate?-you would be better with a damage control 1 or 2 then going for a dual reper if you feel unsafe. Try & get tec2 large armor reps & hardeners as well as they make a big diffence to your overall tank. You can perma rep a dual lar domi even with 1 CCC & 2 auxilliary nano pump-that combination gives a great tank when coupled with a full tec2 tank.
I use the following & it will sit through most level 4 missions as a big yawn and will perma run gives me 2096 armor repaired per cycle:
2 Large armor rep2 4 tec2 active hardeners (to suit mission) 1 Cap relay
5 Cap recharger 2
3 Drone link augmentors 2 Neutron blasters 1 aggro gun
1 capacitor control circuit 1 2 auxilliary nano pump 1
Loads of mixed drones (obviously)
Edit: My cap skills are all at 4 or 5. So test this setup first then tweak to suit your skills. It is a good safe setup for aspiring mission level 4 runners.

Now that my alt's drone skills are up to snuff.. I'm working on gun skills.
Current fit
4x 350 Proto, 2x Drone Link Aug AB, 2x CR II, 2x Omni Link LAR II, 3x Specific, EANM, CPR, Magstab
SDA/CCC/CCC
All t2 drones, usually 2 sets of sentries and assorted small stuff. Depending on the rats/mission I may switch a set of sentries for heavies.
Once my gun skills get better, I'll kill the EANM and CPR for magstabs and upgrade the 350s to T2.

my mission running domi supertanker
highs: 3 gun slots - currently 2 heavy NOS + 1 aggro gun 1 salvager 1 tractor beam 1 drone link
mediums: 1 AB 4 T2 cap rechargers
lows: 2 LAR 1 cap power relay 1 T2 damage control 3 armor hardeners
rigs: 2 semiconductor memory cells + 1 CCC (want 3 SMC's)
drones: lots
my rig setup needs a bit of explanation - most people use 3 CCC's. my reason for wanting 3 SMC's is this: a 20% smc increases your cap, but it doesn't increase recharge time. So 20% more cap + same recharge time = 20% increase in recharge rate! ie. it seems to me like a SMC is a CCC with a cap size bonus.
Anyways my skills arent maxed out at anything (I cant use T2 rigs yet), but with this setup I get 7273 cap with a 244 sec recharge time. I can have everything except my AB active/firing at all times, and with the extra cap i can run with everything active for a good long while .

ok, i'm not trying to be real picky here, but everyone keeps saying the 250mm's suck, and then they list them in there build? whats the deal, if it sucks why the hell would you use it?

They typically don't have PG to spare. I think you scan squeeze 5x 350 IIs, a LAR, and an AB(not sure about the AB), with AWU5. Otherwise you drop a gun, or drop to smaller guns. Double LAR setups makes fitting 350s suck.

Base Grid on a Domi: 9000 MW, with Engineering 5 that becomes 11250.
2x LARIIs at 2300 MW each, leaves you with 6650, not much room for guns with that.

Many interresting suggestions for how to setup a domi to lvl 4 missions. But after having read them i still cant think of any better than this one:
Setup ur ship for uber tank u dont have to worry about grid because u dont fit any guns or nos.
Rigs: 2 times for better rep amount and 1 for sentry dmg
1 large rep and all other low slots for resist
1 target painter and 1 cap injector plus 3 sentry tracking
1 remote armor rep for sentries plus 2 for range to sentries
now with all the modules and rigs u have fitted for sentries and the target painter means gardes t2 will hit up to 55 km with good dps. frigs insta pops and crusiers dont need many rounds and u will hit crusiers from all distances no matter how close they orbit. 2 sets of sentries gardes and wardens mostly do and spare space for a set of medium drones to take out the frigs which managed to come to close. If ur sentry sp are maxed plus all the basic in drones meaning u have around 12 mill sp forget guns and use this setup.
If u most use an omni tank i suggest u swarp some items because then u need dual rep and dual cap injectors. With this setups there is no lvl 4 missions u cant do on ur own.
Happy fragging ...

Some interesting setups; fairly repetitive as far as modules go with some differences here and there. I cant say my setup is any different! lol Also im fresh back to eve as of yesterday and havent played for a year prior so my knowledge of ships etc is a bit dated, hell, when i left they didnt even have rigs!? Now theres a whole new era of ship fittings and diversity which far exceeds any that was there before (a bit overwhelming, but very inspiring!) As far as my missioning goes though, im new to that as well, i have only begun lv3s and 4s today and previously only relied on piracy and mercs for isk. However, from what i have done so far i have an understanding that my setup works and i feel confident enough to share! As i said, its not much different from the norm so dont expect any eye-candy, lol!
=LOWs= 1x LAR II 1x MAR II 4x Hardeners (2x specific + 2x specific) 1x DCU
=MIDs= 1x Named 100mn AB 4x Cap Recharger IIs
=HIs= 3x 350MM Is 2x Drone AUGs 1x Tractor Beam
=RIGs= None as of yet, but hoping to install 2x CCC + drone? (help here?)
=Drones= 5x Bouncer IIs 5x Beserker IIs 5x Vespa IIs
(I fight gallente so explosive type does best armor/hull dmg, vespas are diff type but cant be bothered to change and i dont use lights cos i feel mediums are plenty for frigs/cruisers and i hardly ever come across drones, and when i do i have no prob popping them early on with sentries)
Im still testing this so far so im not sure if it will hold up against some of the harder lv4s will have to see, i may take off 1 or 2 of the 350s since i hardly use them other than for aggro (might train salvagin and replace 350s with salvagers) Also i fitted 1x MAR and 1x LAR instead of 2x LAR because of issues with cramming 2x LAR + tank + 350mms and felt that 1x MAR II on top of my LAR would be enough and it does the job well enough, has a shorter cycle and helps to support the tank.
Hope it helps!

Well, I'm quite new to lvl4 missions, but i paste the build I'm using. Credits to a fellow that explain me how to build this
[Dominix, Misiones LVL 4 250] Large Armor Repairer II Large Armor Repairer II Damage Control II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 3 Especific Hardeners 2
100MN Afterburner II Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 25 Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Heavy Nosferatu I Drone Link Augmentor I Drone Link Augmentor I 250mm Railgun I, Antimatter Charge M 250mm Railgun I, Antimatter Charge M 250mm Railgun I, Antimatter Charge M
Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I Nanobot Accelerator I
250 for frigates work nice, and the rest with sentry or hard.

Rigs 3 CCC
Lows
2MFSII, 5 PDSII
Meds
1 EXP hardener II 1 EXP hardener I 1 Balistic hardener II 1 X-L Shield Booster 1 cap recharger
Highs 6 425mm Prototype Gauss Gun
with max skills 365 gun DPS + drones , cannot permarun everything but is cap stable need to manage aggro though
In the future i plan to get 350mm Gausss guns remove 1 PDSII and add a MFSII, makes more damage closer and the angel BS come close anyway.

My old domi setup
Hi 5 x dual 250mm railgunss II (Large) 1 x 250mm railgun II (medium)
Mid 5 x Cap recharger II
Lows 2 x Larger Armor repairer II 4 x T2 hardner 1 cap relay t2 or navy
Rigs CCC sentry damage augmentor Aux nano pump
This gives you 1071 DPS tank for kinetic/thermal and 737dps firepower but with not much range, use 350mm rail guns and long range sentrys for long range fights. With the big tank i like to just fire on all grups of npcs a the start of the mission and get total agro then my drones dont get killed

would it be stupid to fit large Artillery(mostly for the no cap) on a domi? since my drones do most of the dmg anyway

Used this to great effect in a Blockade the other day, although the last spawn took me pretty low into armor before the tank stabilized:
4x 425mm Railguns (will require at least 1 Dread Guristas/Caldari Navy rail) 2x Drone Link Augmentors
1x Medium Cap Injector 1x Tracking Computer/Cap Recharger II (depending on your cap skills and how often the mission demands you pulse your lar, really) 3x Omnidirectional Tracking Link (45km garde ii' optimal FTW)
1x LAR 3x Hardeners 3x Magstabs
2x Sentry Damage Augmentors
It's a ganktank. Throws out 870 dps with l5 skills, no implants, garde ii's, and faction antimatter. Can't really tank much, relies on killing very quickly to reduce incoming damage.
Very fun way for very experienced mission runners in non-laggy systems to reduce their mission completion times, and watching the armor drop real low before stabilizing is somewhat exhilarating.

Been using this for over a year now...
Highs: Anything + Drone Link Aug'
Mids: Cap Recharger II x5
Lows: LAR x2, EANM, 3 Hardeners T2, DCU II
Rigs: CCCx2, Aux Nano Pump
Get agg, turn on reppers, let loose the drones, zzzzzzzzz..., loot with alt or yourself. Only missions that gave me issues and needed to manage aggro are Angels-Pirate Invasion, Blood Raiders-The Ambush, and Attack of the Drones(spawning the entire mission in one go). Otherwise it's a breeze. ____________________________________ "MONKEY!!"-Gir |

I've been using this setup successfully for the last few weeks. Tops out at around 900 dps. Just wondering if there are any suggestions for improving the damage, I'm happy with the tank as it is. Very tight on both cpu and grid, so any suggestions would have to be cpu/grid neutral.
Cheers.

Im using Dual LARIIs, DGII, and 4 hardeners (mission spec),
all Cap Recharger IIs in mids,
2x CCC rigs and an Aux Nano pump.
for my high slots i use 2x Drone Link (my 80KM range) 2x 425mm rail to draw agro (loot these everywhere...) medium remote armor repair, medium remote hull repair for repairing drones.
For drones i use: 5 Hvy, 15 Mediums, 20 lights. Usually gallente, but i have been experimenting with damage type drones.
Its cap stable and will tank well, 1840 repair over 12 seconds with 80+% resists with mission spec hardeners.
