Point is that its hard to break an alliance that doesn't have a backbone. Surviving as an alliance is not necessarily proof of strength, it can just as easily be proof of a lack of inner fortitude to stand up for yourself. And note I wouldn't call every alliance living in BoB space a 'pet' or a 'slave'. From my point of view, an alliance with a clear goal to remain small (lean and mean) like the MC for example, can determine for itself with justifiable reasons to seek a tenant position. It would not be very practical for them to own space on their own, they're away on contracts a lot and lack the numbers (by their own choice) to defend their own space at the same time. But a large alliance, like for example Xelas, still needing protection from a landlord is in my opinion different from MC.

Feudalism were legal and military obligations of the warrior nobility of Europe during the Middle Ages. A sort of political concept of lords, vassals, and fiefs. In short: The Lords grants the Vassal a fief or the revenues in order to obtain an oath of fealty and will protect the land of the Vassal from harm. The Vassal will provide aid and millitary service in return, which he ofcourse obtains from the fief. History learns us that the system stopped working properly when the Lords ran out of land to conquer to "give away" or when the vassal got its own wealth through other means of the fief, like economy driven projects of gold and assets. You then get a sort of Bastard-Feudalism. It is at that point that the oath of fealty or homage to the Lords will dwindle in strength. So, in theory, a Feudal system can only work if the vassals have something to crave for. It therefore is considered an aggressive political form to many people. It can be "traded" to death if the Vassal get into more luxury and have nothing to wish for anymore.

If BoB was screwing us half as much as the forum *****s claimed they were, FIX could just pack up and move to empire tomorrow...or the individual members or corps could leave. Fact of the matter is we abide by BoB because its a great arrangement. We keep enemy alliances and corps from establishing footholds near their turf (on the turf we administer that is) and in exchange we get to live, rat, mine, and pvp in 0.0 space. Quite frankly, it would be retarded to reject what is arguably the most powerful pvp alliance in EVE as your ally. Not to mention (again) that this is just a game so if it got to the point where BoB was being overbearing and dominating we would just leave the agreement, sure they might invade, but its just a game, its not like they can do ANYTHING to intimidate is IRL. So the term slave/pet/(insert deragortory term to boost your epeen here) can't be applied in the least; we (BoB allies) are vassals at worst. Honsestly its just a game, if you think people a sacrificing their principles over some digital turf then you seriously need to have your head checked. But this has all been said before, so maybe it needs to be dumbed down. The guys with big gunz said they'll watch our back if we watch theirs. If they were mean to us we would say no and leave.
