This ranks right up there with the mail bug as things that should have been fixed and patched ASAP without waiting for the next patch cycle.

Long thread cba to read it all so if this has been mentioned then sorry. But I also have this problem but only with certain ships. Or could just seem that way because it's not as bad with larger ships... Drives me nuts in an my crusader thats the ship is what makes me think it's related to particular ships because I don't seem to suffer that problem with a probe or any of the larger ships I use.

This seems fixed in sisi, at least partly.
Camera doesn't reset after session changes like jumping and docking (but getting podded still resets it to max zoom)
It even remembers where you had it after switching ships and even after logging off

I thought this was done on purpose to either 1) decrease, or equal out load times, or 2) fix an exploit. Im fairly certain that a dev told me that one day while asking in n00b chat about it. The bottom line is that this very simple feature was purposefully left out. Again I dont remember who told me this (tomB?) or exactly their rationale behind it was.
Sometimes there is a logical reason that something cant be implemented, no matter how easy it would be to code.
But yeah it would rock if it was implemented. Actually when I clicked on this link I thought you all would be *****ing about how mouse wheeling through your inventory/chat windows takes forever as the mousewheel scrolls very few lines with every rotation (3?). They should make number of lines for mousewheel scroll configurable.

Annoying and unnecessary.
Also, since we are talking about old stuff to bring back - bring back the old directional scanner!! With a map clearly displayed next to the list of ships, so that we can see which direction we are actually scanning!!
P.S.
Yes I know you can press F10 (or whatever) but that's still very uncomfortable!
