if this scramble is normal word association (in other words each letter represents a different letter), then it is either mispelled or impossible to solve...
given: R = A or I (given that the words a and I are the only 1 letter words in english)
because R = A or I, the letters O, C, and W must be consenants, because no english word with A or I is a 2 letter word with 2 vowels
and since O, C, and W must be consenants, X must be a vowel, for reasons above
because X must be a vowel, B must be a consenant, for reasons above
because B must be a consenant, J must be a vowel, for reasons above
with this logic, there is no combination of known 2 letter words that will accomplish every one of these requirements, AND correctly spell out the scrambled word wxc

Interesting, I remember my dad doing the sunday times versions of these puzzles when I were a lad (crossword being too difficult :D).

2-3 days more before the next one (depending on feedback), which wont be particular hard either, but will involve a bit of ingame thingy as well.

Doing the 'work' at work is very nice. I do second shift tech support and managed to get two coworkers helping me with the code last night. It helps pass the time very well. :)

(btw, thats without using the ingame hints. I am, as ever, stuck at work. I don't think it was necessarily the smartest time to use in-game hints either :P)

And yes - it's entirely solveable without the ingame hints.
They are just that 'hints', not keys
Expect to see one a week - if interest holds up.
Some might be more, how to put it... rewarding, to solve than others
Gonna ramp up the difficulty as well (again depending on feedback - dont wonna loose everyone 'cause it gets too hard)

It took me probably 30-45 minutes.
It could quite easily have taken me longer if you'ld thrown in a curve ball to start with.
That said I'm not sure at all what the schema was. I kinda destroyed my workings out as I went. Luckily I got it first time or it would have taken me a lot longer.
For your information on difficulty:
More words = easier
Having both A and I single letter words = easier
Lots of short words = easier
One or Two very long words = easier.
Spelling mistakes = harder
typo's on conversion = harder
:P
(ignore my comment on the timing of ingame hint, CCP did not live up to their proposed patch timetable.  )
