OK,
how many small corporations (~20-30 members) do you know that, without an alliance to back them up, field capital ships in low-sec?
Do you know of many who would field them, and stay around when a bunch of cynos popped up in the same system they were?
The argument in this thread seems to be focused on:
a) X is not a PvP:er - well, that's just stupid. If there was no PvP, he wouldn't have been fighting. The fact that Octobersnow aren't used to people taking the fight to them, is that seldomly does anything short of an alliance have enough assets and resources to engage capital ships in low-sec.
I don't even care about the "#1 PvP:er in EVE", that's something they say to **** the people with small egos around, and quite obviously it works.
b) Tiller logged, lol! - Allright, this brings me to a point where I start to wonder about whether those who have been in combat, EVER, and experience capital ships fight. Usually, even with the best of computer equipment, such fights are immensely laggy, to the point where the fight can be decided by who lags the least (better connection). Particularly this occurs near a POS, and with dozens of drones and other ships in the same small area of space.
Now, most people do NOT have approx. 1,000,000,000 of ISK in implants stuck in their head (and even more so, would be out PvP:ing with that) (kudos).
Tiller does,
What surprises me is how there was no covops to probe his pod down after the fight.

Very insightful post Tobias. And very logical also. Unfortunately, many cannot see past their own bias and subjective emotions to uncover the truth. Well done.

Claiming you are the "best" or second best, or whatever, is just plain ignorant.
Now, you're probably a damn good PvPer (I wouldn't know, I haven't fought you). Hell, you might probably BE the best PvPer, of your type (which is piracy). However, someone else might be a better interceptor pilot than you, someone else might be a better fleet commander, etc.
Claiming you are the best or second best PvPer in EvE is ignorant, simply because PvP in Eve is so diverse; For instance, lowsec piracy has little in common with a outpost takeover; both are, however, valid forms of PvP.

Being the best, and having people agree with that you are the best are not always mutual concepts.
Only when being the best, and being humble about it do they interlink. Otherwise, being best is just a popularity contest.

...my 'cheating' was to overcome the servers shortcoming for handling 200 drones and fighters orbiting me.
If there was no lag I'd just warp...
As it stands I'd prefer to logski from now on, when CCP give the all clear that it's fixed then sure, I'll stay in game. (like YOU say we should play the way the games intended ie INSTANT WARP WHEN I CLICK WARP)
I refer you to my previous posts, I don't need excuses as I don't see any problem with what I did and as such don't give a dam what you or anyone else thinks.

You're reasoning under the assumption that there is a valid way to get away with your pod without logging.
Which under the circumstances there isn't.
There is simply no way of saving your pod through in-game means in such a laggy situation.
Hence logging is THE ONLY WAY to save your implants.
Are you saying you would volontarily throw away 1 bil ISK like that because people on some stupid forum thought that was the 'best' way to play EVE?
Quit fooling yourself.

Unless you're sitting in a dictor bubble, which in this scenario was impossible, there is definantly a way to get out without logging off. You just have to figure out how now

no, warping into a bubble camp is volontarily throwing away however much your clone is worth. quitting the game to exploit the insta-warp feature and saving your money is just that, an exploit. -

So how do you tell if 7 cap ships are about to cyno on top of you until the last second ?
We knew they had 7-10 BS 1 system away but they didn't seems any threat and certainly nothing that we could not handle. We were unaware of their possesion of this cap fleet...
Both our dreads were committed to staying as in siege mode and Ginger being the brave pilot he is decided to stay and help even though we had a exit cyno open for a quick partial evac.
Most others in our small gang also decided to stay with the dreads and help... only exception being the archon guy who was a new pilot without cap reps 'just taking it for a spin'

A dread in reinforced mode takes quite awhile to get out of reinforced mode. Even if there was delay between the cyno and the hostile capitals jumping in, there wasn't enough time.
How do I know, I wasn't there. Simply because these guys DO know how to fight, they've been around. And who are you again?
