Just remember: just about everyone who was in immensea says it was one of the best times they ever had in EVE, even VOLT, who had a carrier instapopped, a pos removed forcibly and another pos stolen in the space of 2 days. If they can smile, why the hell can't you?
Immensea was definitely fun I'm not denying that. However, after the complete and utter idiocy that happened with CHIMP (having 1 large pos holding the entire system with like one gun on it) and all other pos offline (I think someone said they thought small offline pos could still claim sov) I started to get a sour taste in my mouth.
Myriad was absolutely rocking when I joined and it was great fun. But then the taste started getting more sour when people started insta docking at the first sight of like a 8 man hostile gang and not being able to form our own friendly gangs unless they were ORDERED to gang for an op by an alliance leader. People were not actively defending their space - unless they were ordered to gang and fight they did nothing. I'm not saying this was everyone - many pvpers were fighting - but not alot. This may have happened because of all they newbs that were being recruited.
When this started the gangs I was in were consisting of a majority of UCC. UCC is rocking and more excellent times were had with them and the minority of Myriad pilots that fought.
Then the decision came to leave. I myself and some others were having a blast fighting the IAC gangs that were coming down. I'm a highly pvp player so this made the sour taste turn to puking. I felt we should have made them work for the outposts. Of course others wanted to protect their assets - that's fine.
Myriad is still a great alliance - I would just say you guys need a little more pvp. As far as industry alliances go you guys are awesome and can field good pvp forces when everyone gets motivated or ordered.
Sorry if you guys feel I'm poo slinging I just wanted to get it off my chest. I was in Immensea before Myriad even had an outpost there - the sour taste just grew to be too much and I wanted to share my experience and opinion with all of you. I couldn't just smile and leave like you suggested without venting a little
However I am definitely smiling about the experience. Overall it was great. I just had to vent about some things I felt were not right. Theme song for past few days :-p |

Edited by: Elmicker on 06/02/2007 22:12:36 You're probably a US player, and as you know, we're a 90% EU alliance, which is why we specifically allied with UCC, they were mostly US, so it worked well, with us having the "day" shift, and them the "night". It was your experience to interepret as you will, but unfortunately, in this case, you're wrong. The only IAC gangs who were not responded to were those who came along at around 3-5am EVE, (usually in a nano-something) when there was all of 3 people in 2o-eew. No one was ever ordered to dock up by anyone in a position of authority. Also, you seem to be throwing a lot of **** upwards, if you're such a pvp centred player, why didn't you form up the gang and do something about it? Or were you one of the morons who just likes to pass every iota of blame to those in charge when you were perfectly capable of doing something about it? And to be honest, if you were in CHIMP at the end, under the leadership of a chronic insomniac halfwit who smokes the poisonous secretions of toads, I honestly can't see how you can find any room to complain what Myriad did as a 400-500 man alliance when faced with thousands of hostiles from all sides.

You obviously didn't read and comprehend what I wrote. I was screaming to form gangs up and that was when everyone would hide in station. I forget who it was that screamed don't engage dock up - it happened a few times. And this was not when 3 people were in system - more like ATLEAST 40 friendlies. So I say to you, are you one of those morons that can't comprehend what they've read or just spewing garbage to save face?
Ohh and lets not forget when that one hostile gang entered 2o-eew at the end (don't think it was IAC). I was running a gang of mostly UCC/some MAD down to 2o- from z-h. There was a MAD gang formed in 2o- about to engage them. The plan the entire time was for my gang to come down to squish them between both gangs. We get to the system before 2o- and setup. Then suddenly the 2o- gang is told to DISBAND and dock!!! As SOON as this happens another RA gang jumps in behind the gang I was running and the other gang in 2o- jumps on us. Now MY gang is getting squished by the enemies two gangs because everyone was ordered to run and dock up knowing full well the gang I was running was almost there for support. Starting to see now why I'm so bitter? And guess what, we actually managed to run them off too after you guys ran and hid like school girls. A friendly cerb was lost because of the other gangs incompetence however.
Your comment about "3 people in 2o-eew that's why no gang" is absolute utter rubbish - I always thought you were full of it (spinning things to make the alliance look better) - now I know for sure. All these examples I am giving had at the absolute minimum 40 friendlies in system.
I agree with your assessment of CHIMP .
But yes you're right about me being US and most MAD being EU. That doesn't take away from the fact that there was still more than enough friendlies to form a gang that didn't.

Just like to put my pennys wort in...
Elmlicker m8 we the jorg do not hide behind anyone..as you well know. we are at our best when we are allowed to fight....see your own killboard...were still no1.
and take the time to look at our new alliance killboard..were no2
just thought id clear this up.
my time in myriad i must say was very enjoyable...your pvp players were great fun to fly with, but as in most conflicts ships are lost and need to be relpaced.
This got harder and harder to do....and as a result people stopped fighting and started ratting to make isk.
thats my view on the subject anyway.
hope you guys have lots of fun ...pvp`ing fly safe myriad............"respect" :)
p.s
Percy you are a great leader buddy...and will lead myriad to prosperity once again im sure.

Edited by: EzSnake on 07/02/2007 00:35:03 Sad to see the events that happened mis-portrayed (some truths here..just stated to benefit the poster). But....ya it was ALL chimps fault...what the hell they disbanded let's make them the scape goat for what happened.
Either way it's over ..we live we learn...

Im not a diplomat or a skilled forum poster. Reading all this makes my eyes water and fingers itch. Immensea had good times and bad times. The best moment for me was working in I-N with all the defenders against 8 to 1 odds. Percy look after your men and I will see the ones that flamed me at some point in the future.
Best wishes and hopes for your future.

I'd also like to point out we weren't the only side to lose capitals, hehe.
Yup our goal at that time was crushed completely, the joint forces of LV, Maelstrom, Myriad and UCC vs us and UNL sorted that out lol. It was an epic few weeks for us, and I think tha even though it didn't hae the outcome we wanted we all look back on it as a a few weeks of great fun and great experience.

Myriad was great for a time but flooding 0.0 with 2 week old players doesn't work and was annoying at times... especialy when people were doing things like ratting with enemies in the system and not x'ing up when needed... some of the questions asked in alliance were things for "rookie help" at times too. You cant move to 0.0 without some half decent PVP experience. One thing Myriad does needs is a PVP training scheem for new players. Dont get me wrong though, I did enjoy our time with Myriad, good bunch of lads... it was a shame to gave up on 2o so easierly. I understand Percy's decision as he has alot invested with the alliance and without a dozen carriers, defending would have been quite difficult... but we love overwhelming odds and it would have been alot of fun, which is what this game is all about. Myriad would have got great respect for taking out a couple of capital ships etc. in the process of defending their system which with the right tactics, could have been achieved. I wish you all the best of luck in your new venture.

Quote: So, we begin to bring in reinforcements in the form of the UCC and NUTS and we prepare for an assault on E8-YSN, planned for the first weekend after the new year. Then, absolute disaster, mere hours before the assault (which no one was meant to know about, yet somehow the entire jorg managed to know every detail of the plan), disaster strikes, and ISS get gangbanged, and 300+ TCF 'n' co ride on into I-N. We're in a position where we have nigh on 1000 online hostiles less than 30 jumps from our home
Flame on you crazy cear bears.
Go in peace Myriad or leave well alone. The jorgs members are all 100 staunch and trusted. Thats why I dont lie or keep secrets from them. Your plans were lost to the number of spys in teh main alliance corps and not thru the jorgs members. Im outraged at the slander you have laid upon us. I recomend you restart your kill boards as even weeks after leaving we are still at teh top of the thing. That happens when all the members of a corp are working for the goal and not left wondering what there ceo has in store for them. Respect is no give.
I salute those I flew with in immensea from what ever corp or alliance.

You might have trusted your members reg, but you can see why we demanded secrecy. In fact, you're the prime example. You, yourself, and your other reps to a man swore that they would tell not a soul of the op. Yet, we end up with people asking in local from your corp "When are we attacking e8-? i was told it was sunday!!". I had to lie to just about everyone i talked to, because, unlike you, your majesty, i didn't consider myself above the rules. Rules you agreed to, then went ahead and broke. This was the reason you were kept out of the loop on the e8- assault plan, and this was the reason you threw your little tantrum, took over the corp and ****** off when the majority of us still had an ungodly amount of assets to move to safety.
Anyway, this is not a thread about the jorg, and as much we just adore stroking your ego, reg, it ends here. This topic is about our standings being reset, and this is what has happened. I wish the members of the jorg the best of luck in defending their new home, just as i hope we have your best wishes in finding our new home.

This thread is in danger getting derailed somewhat...
MAD had a council vote to see who wanted to stay and fight, and who felt that the position we held against RAGOON/TCF/UNL was not maintainable and that we should limit the damage that was visited on us as we pulled out. The council voted overwhelmingly in favour of leaving, so that's what the alliance leadership settled on. It was a bitter pill for all of us to swallow after so much work had been put into the region.
TJORG were a valuable addition to MAD. They are experienced PVPers and would always step up to the plate for operations. Reg himself worked very hard while we were helping Maelstrom try to defend I-N, leading gangs constantly.
I was sad to see them leave but we have to respect their decision to leave us, and wish them all the best in FATAL. I'd like to think that the rest of MAD could foster the same attitude. _____________________________________________

Oh everyone be nice, offcourse were not getting as many kills in empire as in 0.0.
I had no bad expiriences with jorg myself but some of you seeme to get angry bit quick but thats just how some people are.
However i enjoyed gangs with you and we had fun even tho some mistakes were made (like when that 2o gang was disbanded but there must be a reason but still an explanition would have been nice) but that is not how it was usualy, atleast not in my expiriance.
But seriusly dont get so angry its a game if you have something bad happen stand up get yourself a drink or something thenn when the adrenalin is declining sit back down and talk to people, anger is no solution.
Please dont turn this post into a flamewar
