Been thinking recently on the lines of command ships (especially fleet command) which give bonuses to the various warfare links (such as armoured warfare, information warfare etc), and thought wouldn't it be nice to have one for the mining links? Hence the reason for an ORE Command Ship could be useful (unless the capital mining/industrial ship arrives, but that's under heavy debate  ).
Not too fussed on the stats of it, but since ORE are Gallente based (iirc), it could use the same hull type as the Brutix, or even have an excuse to use the Myrmidon or something, and have the same colour scheme as the elite barges (Hulk etc) but should get bonuses to mining links, and since being fleet command, allow 3 links to be used simultaneously, just like the Eos etc. I can't think of a reason for a field command ship for ORE, but who knows, might be useful in protecting their assets.

I suggested something similar a while back.
The Tier 1 battlecruisers are almost completely replaced by the tier 2, particularly the ferox. On the other hand, in in the case of gallente and caldari (maybe the other races too?) the tier 1 battlecruiser is a better mining platform for those of us using mining foreman links, but don't have command ship yet.
I wouldn't suggest a tech 2 command ship, but just beef up the tier 1 bc's as miners. SOMEBODY needs to fly a bc with mining links in group mining ops, might as well make a bc that is useful for it. And this minor tweak would make tier 1 bc's interesting again.

I like the idea of the mining command ship not having mining abilities per se, but getting the bonus to mining foreman links (a la the other command ships), and other than that, acting as a logistics/support ship. Some mild armaments, drones (be nice to set up sentry drones for the op), and repair abilities. It shouldn't really be much of a miner itself, or there would be little trade-off to decide to use it or not. I don't think it should be worth piloting in a mining op unless you had enough miners working to where the coordination a foreman provides would make them more effecient.

It could be a tanking-focused ship for 0.0 spawns, but yes, it really needs the mining director link bonus.
