Anyone else getting that? My EVE clock on the bottom left is 3 or 4 minutes fast. No big deal, but I'm wondering if it's just me.

There is a problem with timing somewhere in EVE. EVEMon is running about 3 minutes slower than EVE -- EVEMon seems to be the same as my PC clock -- which is synchronized to the NIST clock.

What are you smoking ? You never get time from the system clock in an application ( unless your writing a clock,...but why ? ).
Explain how being in a different part of the world with you system clock set to local time doesn't cause snyc errors ? My system clock is 10 mins fast on purpose. Being here in New Zealand it must take 12 hours for a command to go through huh ? Hangon, I'm ahead, so does that mean Eve knows what I'm doing in the future ? ______________________________

afaik the clock-sync problem has been fixed ages ago?
There was a time back in the days when you could encounter problems if the EVE and your computer clock was not synched, eg your computer clock rand 20 min ahead you could experience suddent CTD's, even GM/Mods asked pilots to check and update their clocks so that they was not too-out-of-sync compated to the EVE servers.
Help me help you. |

I noticed the same, basically it means utility programs like EvEmon are a few minutes late all the time.

Yes it is fast, and for those of us good at time keeping it is annoying. It's almost the equivalent of finger-nails down a blackboard to me.
My watch and all the clocks I can see from my computer are either radio or internet controlled so there can be no denying it. It would make a small minority of Eve's playerbase happier if they could synchronrize their servers with the rest of the servers on the Internet. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

And was this atomic clock measuring Eve time?
Nah, I'm sure it's out according to whatever arbitrary source you or anyone else chooses, the fact that it really really doesn't matter kinda negates this however. -

Google NTP and you'll know that people take a LOT of effort to provide accurate time signals via the internet. It is not arbitrary in the slightest. EVE time is supposed to be GMT, and its innacurate right now. -- We are the Octavian Vanguard www.octavianvanguard.net

You're a bit of grumpy git aren't you? Windows XP uses the Internet to get the exact time, also I was watching the news on TV which displayed the correct time. For further evidence I could use a radio clock to get the exact time.
I merely asked a question if this was just me, or if everyone had this. And judging from the replies, you're the odd one out for being a complete jerk and trying to flame me.

Yah, that's what adds to the annoyance for me. I can live with slow clocks if they rely on a cheap mechanical movement but in this day and age and with something like Eve it just seems very lazy and careless of CCP not to be keeping the clock in synch. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)
