Whats the last time you played NC? When I left it (just because of lack of new content (which was kinda supposed to be there)) it was pretty stable.

Targeting is When you click on something and no matter where you look your attack or spell hits. nontargeting is something like counterstrike or a First person Shooter . Via Oblivion and morrowind

ahh - it looks like that space game (that is going to be in development for 20+ years because it's one guy) doesn't use targetting.
Maybe Pirates of the Burning Sea or Auto Assault don't use it? Not sure.
Are you saying that you would like for EVE to be 'line of sight'? How about missiles?

ook, well that explains that.
Dunno can't really think of any, but it's a damn weird characteristic to look for in a game imo.
Neverwinter Nights? ..cant remember if it is lol.

Jumpgate was/is a non-targeting space MMOG. The developers sadly sort of dropped it to create that idiocy called 'Auto Assault'.
Was fun while it lasted.

Its not something odd to look for in a game Oblivion and morrowind have the right idea just needs to be mmorpg.
I didnt like auto Assult, I will always play eve but once in a while need a break to not get tired of the repedative tasks

Both Asheron's Call and Planetside are still going, but AC does use targeting. Been playing PS a bit lately, since my account seems to be on a promotional free trial for some reason atm.
Auto Assault doesn't use targeting, atleast it didn't during beta.

Jumpgate was THE game!
No matter what you achieve in this game, it'll will always be tainted by the fact you cheated to get there. |

haha wow neocron cant belive people have played it - i played it in beta / capped a PE / played it in neocron 1 , capped a PSI
then played neocron 2 - capped all 4 races 5 slot plasma cannon ftw =P ha
anyways yer the game just lacks things & its gfx sucks ... it did however invent flying ships.. & bombers you could use.. abit like Bf1942.. but the game is full of bugs & gets boring very quick PVP in that game is not very good when ur fighting in OPS.. the PVE side is good tho :) the Game needs End boss;s not just sitting in a Tank all day long.. shooting fire mobs to level like crazy shrug ha

Dungeons and Dragons online can be played with or without targetting, though the game itself was pretty sub-par and unimpressive, IMO.
What I'm looking forward to is Darkfall Online, which looks great. And I heard somewhere that it had a combat system very similar to Mount&Blade, which is very close to Morrowind/Oblivion (This might be wrong, though. I can't remember where or when I read this, so I might just be confused).

Wait, you're actually that w0rmy? I always thought the name was just a coincidence...
Also yeah, JG rocked, and Istvan's still my hero.
{edit} The problem with "non-targetting" is that it means you have to rely on hit detection for a lot of your calculations, which uses a fair amount of server time if you verify server-side (which you should be) and makes you much more sensitive to lag etc. The tradeoff can be worth it (and sometimes it's just plain necessary), but it is very much a tradeoff. And there are ways to reduce the penalties, like simplified hitboxes, but... "Nix Missile Hitbox".
